The Kranz Hotel, chosen because of its relatively cheap prices and the presence of its own website (a rarity for local hotels), outwardly I quite liked it: a small three-story mansion on the outskirts of the city, closer to the sea and access to the Curonian Spit. When booking, the hotel demanded an advance payment in the amount of half the cost of the entire stay, i. e. 2.5 days. In general, I try to never make an advance payment, but given that our check-in fell on holidays, when there was a huge influx of tourists in Krantz, I had to agree to this condition. It's funny: as the details for the transfer, I was given the full name of the recipient via the Western Union system, but your obedient servant did not bastard, did not buy into this wiring and requested sane bank details, which he received! The room offered to us (No. 9) immediately and sharply did not like it!
It was located not in the house, but in the annex, the windows overlooked the hotel parking lot, small, but still ...The side of the windows was sunny and it was stuffy in the room. We politely asked the girl from the reception to change our room to another one - a similar standard, on the same floor, but in the building itself, on the shady side with windows overlooking a quiet abandoned neighboring garden. Kindly, but adamantly, we were refused with the motivation: "All rooms are booked! " It is clear, but I have exactly the same reservation, and I checked in earlier than others and am going to stay for a longer period! Either the girl did not want to control the movement of the unpacked bar of soap and one towel to the next room  , or did the others, already knowing the hotel's tricks, indicate in advance the rooms they need when booking?
In any case, the behavior of the hotel administrator was incorrect: without tapping her finger in an attempt to solve the problem, she only stated that the prepayment was not refundable.

We spent the evening in our room, celebrating my wife's half-century, having dinner with good champagne, peaches and chocolate. Why not in a pub? Yes, I just wanted to be together.
Another unpleasant feature of the hotel immediately appeared: the lack of a smoking area within walking distance. I had to go out into the courtyard, and given my preference for breakfast with a cup of coffee, a piece of biscuit, a glass of rum and three or four cigarettes, all at the same time, it turned out that the hotel was clearly not suitable for me. It got dark and, turning on the stored "Raptor" (a vital thing in June at this latitude), we tried to rest. But the hell is there! The main feature of the Kranz Hotel is soundproofing, or rather the lack of it.
The audibility in the room was perfect. I already said that the hotel was still half empty, but the little that we checked in was enough for us: someone silently and rhythmically fucked, left the room (it is possible to rinse, because not all rooms are equipped with amenities), again just as silently and rhythmically continued the process ...Maybe they were different people? But in this case, why such a depressing monotony? Or were they just trying to break a personal record they had led and tried not to be distracted by third-party emotions?
The morning lived up to expectations: at seven o'clock the guests began to start cars in the parking lot, exchanging opinions in an undertone about the upcoming voyage to nature. It is not difficult to guess that their conspiracy was an open secret for me - I perfectly heard every word spoken.

The owner's dog, who had slept peacefully all night on the first floor, announced the wake-up call, clearing his voice with a hoarse bark, as is the custom of the entire dog tribe. Room No. 9 was slowly warmed up by the direct rays of the sun, it became more and more difficult to breathe, by nine o'clock in the morning the temperature in it reached 27 degrees! I had to urgently make a decision to save my own lives and mental health. Having sent the weary wife to rest on the sea, I cheerfully moved in search of options. However, to put an end to the theme of the Kranz Hotel, it is worth noting its pluses: excellent water supply, many TV channels, new renovation and furnishings of the rooms. An excellent option for youth companies is economy class rooms in the attic. There is a kitchenette for four rooms, two bathrooms, a balcony where you can go out to sit. It looks like a good hostel. The stairs to the attic are very uncomfortable, not for older people.
Well, and to live under a youth company, given the audibility, I can only advise a hopelessly deaf guest
