Small update on Singapore.

The initial impressions I described were based on the results of my stays in 2013 and 2014 (see my posts in the Singapore section). In the wake of visits in 2016 and 2019, I decided to write additionally.

The format is about what has changed, something new has appeared, and continues to be liked.

New attraction - Floral Fantasy at Gardens By The Bay. In addition to the already existing Cloud Forest and Flower Dome and in the same format, a room with cold air. Filled with floral arrangements. Many are copyrighted. Some move.

In general, not bad, but... somehow it will not be enough (in terms of quantity) for this money. As if understanding this, the admin offers before the release of a 3D show in a small hall - an inspection of the entire Gardens By The Bay complex through the eyes of a flying insect. Funny, but nothing more.

Gardens By The Bay also has a new area - The Meadow and Serene garden, a Japanese garden that's pretty good. It's very sparse there. I liked it.

Walked (in the evening) along the walkway suspended between the giant Supertree Grove & OCBC Skyway trees, followed by a visit to the bar at the top of the "tree" - liked it. Beautiful views of Singapore. But I didn’t like the climb to the building of the Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Botanic Gardens

Orchid Garden - completely updated compared to what I once saw. Even the format and landscape is different. Before, I remember big trees, and slides, and a fantastic number of orchids. Now everything is in the format of small forms, there are much fewer orchids. All impressions are purely subjective. I liked both options.

During the absence, a new garden has opened - Wetlands, and it is incomparable! Quiet place with lakes and coastal vegetation.

I've been to Botanic Gardens a dozen times in my last run, and here's a list of my favorites:

Red Brick path - top view of the rainforest.

Evolution Garden - atmospheric, intimate, modern.

Foliage Garden - swamp vegetation, simply beautiful and intimately done.

Rain Forest path - a walk through the wild rainforest.

The central part is large-scale, beautiful, and you can’t beat it in any way.

Symphony Lake Stage outdoor concerts on weekend evenings.

Symphony Lake Stage - concert. Full house - give Beethoven from the famous German conductor.

There is something to eat in the center of Botanic Gardens. There are cafes where you can eat. There is a restaurant to sit more respectably. There is a food court (above). I myself did not take anything anywhere, except for tea in a cafe - I visited Botanic Gardens for 2-4 hours usually.

In RIVER SAFARI, compared to the previous one, the Wild Amazonia zone has opened after renovation, and it is beautiful! Quiet river and lake area in addition to just animals. I also do not remember that there were previously huge aquariums with manatees and other large individuals. It's great too. They also host shows with mermaids. I got to the end of the show.

Riding on Amazon River Qest (fee separately) - fine. The idea: you are sailing on a boat along the river and you see animals in their habitat. Not all animals are friendly to tourists (hide). Also (like) the boat is moving too fast, you don’t have time to see everything properly.

Attended the Once Upon A River show - too simple and short (sucks, in short). I couldn’t ride a boat on the lake - I postponed the purchase of a ticket for later, and “later”, due to the possibility of rain, they stopped selling tickets ((((. It didn’t rain, by the way, but the closing hour came.

I came back to the Monkey Forest monkey paddock for one more look after seeing the whole RIVER SAFARI. And I sat right on the path, watching, until they kicked everyone out before closing (an hour, probably). A small fenced square where 2 species of monkeys live without any fences!

Went to Cirque du Soleil's Cabinet of Curiosities show. I liked it very much. With a correction: unless you go to another city just for Cirque du Soleil.

I once went to the "beach" in Sentosa. Impressions (negatively) unforgettable! Heat and stuffiness on the shore, heat and in the muddy water of the temperature of fresh milk. There is no escape from the heat. In addition, endless streams of tourists pass by along the coast, staring at beachgoers as a curiosity (especially for Indians).

In general, in Singapore, my preferences are as follows. Definitely Marina Bay with Gardens By The Bay (including Marina Bay water show and music and light show at Gardens By The Bay). I visit every "arrival", and not just once. This is the pearl of Singapore, compactly located. If you have been there, you have seen the whole Singapore (tourist)!

Been more than 2 times: Botanic Gardens, Japanese & Chinese Gardens.

Been there 2 times: ZOO, JURONG BIRD PARK, NIGHT SAFARI, RIVER SAFARI, Sentosa, Aquarium Flower Dome - all this is not that worse, but just not free.

Unfortunately, there are few photos. Something was lost, and the rest - alas, it is still very hot and stuffy in Singapore, so I tried to go outside after 17:00, and this is almost twilight, not the best time for photographing.

I like this kind of contemporary art. Somewhere in Singapore

This is not a velodrome, but just a pedestrian road at the level of the treetops. Great, but not for 3-day tourists))))

Такое современное искусство мне нравится. Где-то в Сингапуре.
Это не велодром, а просто пешеходная дорога на уровне верхушек деревьев. Здорово, но не для 3х дневных туристов)))).
