Hello! The first time I went to Slovakia to a ski resort and did not regret it! I rested at the SNP 3 * hotel for two weeks from January 15.2010 and I want to share my impressions and, possibly, useful information for you.

I really liked the hotel and, compared to other neighboring hotels, the price corresponds to the quality. What attracted me to it is that it is located 50 meters from 2 ski lifts on both sides, as well as delicious dinners : ))

*Rooms: cozy, clean, warm, the only thing you need to take is a hair dryer. TV shows 7 Slovak and 2 German channels.

* Meals: in the morning - a good breakfast (buffet), dinner - first and second on order, I advise you not to miss it, very tasty!

*Parking: there is a guarded parking near the hotel for 4 euros per day.

*What to take with you: a kettle, a cup, tea to drink a cup of hot tea in the room after skiing, a small thermos for skiing. Take rubber slippers to change your shoes in the locker room and go to your room.

It was a discovery for me that after skiing you can put your skis and boots in lockers and calmly go up to the room, very thoughtfully!

*Skating: from 8.30 to 15.30 + night skiing from 18-00 to 21-00. The trails are wonderful, well-groomed and for all tastes. I rode everyone and even in the Freeride zone for extremes. Competitions are often held on the slopes, and you can also admire skydivers-skiers. There are 3 ski areas, but they are all interconnected by slopes, lifts and open and closed, ride the orange gondolas : )

*Contingent: mostly Slovaks have a rest, but there are also many Ukrainians. It is better to go with friends, family or company, it is very dreary alone. There are a lot of children in the hotel, which sometimes interferes with rest, running, screaming, but these are all trifles. There is no evening entertainment, everyone either goes to restaurants or goes for evening skiing.
*Weather: when we crossed the Slovak border, we saw green grass around and were shocked, but then we climbed the mountains and calmed down - there was a lot of snow and excellent tracks. The weather was different and -5 and -15, but frost is almost not felt in the mountains. It is very pleasant to ride both in the sun and when it snows.

*Rental and subscription: if you go from 11.01 to 07.03 there will be discounts. It is better to rent uniforms at the hotel - 20% discount, also take a ticket at the reception with a skipass discount - 20%, although the maximum discount period is 6 days. If you go in March, then prices fall exactly 2 times, but I'm not sure that there will be snow.

*Where to go on excursions: Beshenova and Tatralandia water parks were highly praised, take a swimsuit with you, you can also go to the nearest town of Mikulas.
There is a bus stop near the Grand Hotel, where buses run every hour and for 1 euro and 30 minutes you will reach the city, where there are large supermarkets Tesco, Hypernova, Knaufland, where you can buy fruits, souvenirs, because in the Jasnah there are no shops.

*Prices: Accommodation in this hotel for 14 nights in a single room with insurance, tickets and visa cost me 650 euros. Ski rental - 155 euros, skipass about 250 euros. Prices for drinks on the lifts: from 1 to 3 euros. The higher you climb, the cheaper the mulled wine : ))

I wish you all a good rest, good mood, I hope my tips will help you to thoroughly prepare and enjoy your vacation!!! !
