Hotel ratings by criteria:
First of all, the hotel is quite old. This can be seen both in the style itself and in the condition: everything is somehow shabby, shabby, on the concrete arch outside our window - many years of dirt, dust and peeling paint. Not a collective farmer's house, certainly, but not a "modern standard" either, especially after the luxurious Imperial Boat House on Koh Samui. Neither give nor take - the famous Moscow hotel "Russia". The style is completely similar - probably the same 70s. It does not leave the impression of a “passage courtyard”: everyone seems to understand, both tourists and staff, that few tourists stay in the BKK for more than two nights, therefore, they will be killed - it's okay. However, there really is nothing to worry about.
However, the hotel is quite popular. One factor in its popularity may be its convenient location. I can’t say anything about the price, since we paid for the entire tour as a whole, and since in general the tour didn’t seem cheap to us, we didn’t even think “but cheap” in Indra. So, the location of the hotel is very convenient. 15-20 minutes walk to large (even huge) shopping centers MBK and Siam. The latter (Siam Paragon) has recently opened a large aquarium. Further, in a three-minute walk, literally around the corner, there is another attraction of the BKK - the Baiyoke Sky high-rise hotel, with an observation deck on the 84th floor. I recommend going to see the BKK from above - we liked it. But let's go back to the hotel! What else is there from the positive - it's restaurants. The fact is that in the BKK, at least in “our” area, there are simply no restaurants on the streets.
