Hello travel lovers! We want to share with you about our trip to Thailand. From the very beginning, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who writes their reviews, on the basis of which we built our travel plan. So, we are a family, we are 35 years old, we live in Ukraine in the city of Kharkov. We decided to try an independent trip, as we had already visited other countries with travel agencies. In May of this year, we learned that Aerosvit is offering $399 (Crazy Friday) tickets to Thailand. Without hesitation, I called and booked two tickets for August 21.2009. In our free time, we read reviews and drew conclusions about the most beautiful places in Thailand. It was decided to visit BKK+KO TAO+SAMUI+KRABI(REILEY)+BKK. We traveled from Kharkov to Boryspil by a Gü nsel bus. to. it coincided with the time of departure. There was no delay with the flight, everything went according to schedule, the flight took 9 hours (departure from Kyiv at 14:00 and landing at BKK at 3:30 local time). I had two 6kg backpacks with me (8kg allowed) in hand luggage. We didn’t take extra things (you can buy everything there), you only need a first aid kit. Suvarnambhumi Airport is huge and beautiful, all metal and glass. But everything is calculated so that it is impossible to get lost. We did not pay for a visa, although all the reviews say that Ukraine pays $30 to enter the country. Honey. Nobody asked for insurance either. We went out into the street along the green corridor. At 4 o'clock in the morning it really was like a sauna, very humid and hot air. We took a taxi-meter and for 400 baht we got to Khaosan Road. In the morning there was no one on the street, except for prostitutes and lady-men. At the beginning of the street (where the police station is) there is a 7-eleven convenience store, where they bought a DTAC phone card and topped it up with 300 baht, which was enough for 6 calls for 1 minute. I wanted to drink a cold beer, but unfortunately, alcoholic drinks, including beer, are sold at their time. Having bought cold juice, we went along Khaosan street. At the end of the street, we turned left, and walked about 200 meters, and left again, went to a parallel street (I don’t remember the name). On this street is the main office of LOMPRAYAH, a company that transports passengers to the islands. We bought tickets for 21-00 of this day (for 1700 baht for two) to the island of Koh Tao. The ticket price includes a bus + catamaran. We spent the whole day in BKK. At 6-00 it was already light (dawn and sunset come much faster than ours), having breakfast at a roadside cafe, tasting local fruits, we went to see Bangkok with a map in our hands. After walking a few steps, a tuk-tuk drove up to us, and a kind Thai offered to see the temples for only 100 baht. We saw three temples and drove around the city until 10-00. He asked us to go with him to a jewelry store to get a gas voucher. After that, traffic jams appeared in the awakened city, and it became impossible to breathe exhaust gases in the tuk-tuk, and we went to the zoo. Having paid 200 baht for entry, we spent time there until lunch, seeing enough of the animals, and having a rest from the hustle and bustle of the city. Then we went to the CHAO PHRAYA river and took a ride on the river bus for 5 baht to the SKYTRAIN metro station. We took the skytrain to the National Stadium station and walked around the city center (LOTUS, SIAM CENTER, SIAM PARAGON. . . ) After that, we returned to Khaosan Road and rented a hotel for 500 baht for 4 hours to take a shower and relax before the road. At 20-00, leaving the hotel, a real tropical downpour fell upon us, which lasted for 30 minutes. But during this time, the water on the streets was knee-deep, rats ran, hiding from the water, and huge red cockroaches. Taking off our shoes, we went to the bus stop, the rain was already light, but we got wet. We didn't have a choice, because our bus departed at 21-00. After dinner at a roadside cafe, some very tasty soup, we boarded the bus. The double-decker bus was with TV and air conditioning and with all amenities. On it we reached Chumpon.
