It is sad to see what the Krabi Resort hotel, which was not bad, judging by the reviews on the Internet, has turned into in the past.
In this and the coming years, Krabi Resort guests are in for an extremely unpleasant surprise. The planned construction of new pitchforks to compact the territory is practically blocked traffic on the territory of the Krabi Resort hotel, mountains of construction debris and materials, desolation, noise and din of workers. Cars of builders and staff, day and night, standing in columns on the paths of the hotel under colorful signs “No Parking” (obviously, this applies only to hotel guests).
Travel agencies and the hotel's own website position Krabi Resort as a first-line hotel with allegedly the only piece of its beach in Ao Nang, but this is not close to true.

Due to the passages blocked by construction, hotel guests have to go around to their own hotel restaurant, to the reception building or to the so-called beach outside the territory of the Krabi Resort hotel, about two blocks along the city street (!!! ). Those. it turns out not even the second, but the third line!
At any other single hotel in the village of Ao Nang (which are much newer and more modern than the hopelessly outdated Krabi Resort), the passage to the sea is much better organized.
A few pieces of the few “own” sunbeds of Krabi Resort on the waterfront (which the hotel is so proud of) in practice are always occupied not only during the day, but also at night - hotel employees carefully wrap duty towels and belongings of visitors to several VIP villas for the night in their mattresses (! ! ! ) so that in the morning their happy VIP-owners do not even have to “occupy” the sunbeds again - the beach boy unrolled the mattresses of the sunbeds in the morning, and there the place of the VIP-guest was already reserved with a VIP towel. So the inhabitants of the Deluxe rooms and ordinary bungalows will only have a place on the concrete.
About the so-called "own" piece of the sea - a separate conversation. Maybe twenty years ago, when the Krabi Resort was being built, this corner of Ao Nang beach was a good place by the sea. But now the anthill of cafes, restaurants and boat stations on the shore have turned this particular corner of Ao Nang beach into a dump. Here, drains from restaurants simply run right along the sand into the sea. The stench is indescribable from the photo. In fact, this is a port area. Because of the mud, even economical back packers do not swim here (according to the laws of this province of Thailand, access and passage to the sea is allowed for everyone and everywhere). The beach holiday center of Ao Nang has long shifted to the opposite side of Ao Nang Beach from Krabi Resort, towards the cliff of the Centara Hotel - away from sewers and boat piers.
If, for example, the Centara hotel in the neighboring bay really has its own corner of the beach, then, unlike the Krabi Resort hotel, there is cleanliness, order, and security.

The interior of Krabi Resort resembles Soviet sanatoriums. The rooms are large by the standards of the 21st century, but everything in them is not human, not thought out and sometimes simply dangerous. For example, in a bathroom with an area of more than 6 m2 (why ?? ? because the jacuzzi is not installed there? ), you can simply break your legs on a massive 2 m2 heavy glass door (glass thickness 15 mm) of the shower cubicle. Which, moreover, also has a frame made of a metal channel (!!! ) - I'm not kidding! The shower is just a "dream" of a recruit soldier - a watering can immured into the wall, not turning. And judging by the jumps in water temperature - hot water supply of an electric boiler type.
Something similar in terms of the furnishings of the largest room - everything is far from each other, out of business, outdated. Antediluvian curtains with tulle, on the parting of which you waste a lot of time just to go out onto the balcony.
Even the key to the room is not electronic, but of the type of the Soviet “secret”, opened by the unforgettable Ostap Bender with a fingernail, but at the same time with a half-kilo key fob with the room number, which must be worn with the key, which closes the network limit switch while in the room.
With all the pomposity of the Krabi Resort hotel, all these palm trees and the remnants of the former gilding, it is clear that huge money has swelled here. But how are they going to pay for them if there is no connection with the needs of today? After all, people come here primarily overseas, and it simply does not exist in the vicinity of Krabi Resort (within a radius of 5 km). Something needs to be done in this direction.
Self-respecting 4.5-star hotels in Ao Nang (the same Centara, for example) at least organize a transfer to clean beaches. In the conditions of Ao Nang, these could be their own long-tail boats or boats, like the Centara or Rayvadee hotels. But at Krabi Resort, they’d rather swell their money into another golden statue than invest a penny in the convenience of their guests.
It’s somehow even frivolous to mention about the lack of Wi-Fi in the hotel - “such a trifle” in our XXI century. Krabi Resort is only trying to take steps towards internization, handing out some pieces of paper with passwords, but so far this whole system is only being debugged and there is simply no Internet.

The crowning achievement of staying at the hotel was the complete lack of information about the transfer to the airport. The reception staff practically does not speak English (of course, there is no Russian at all) and pretended that they know nothing and do not have any contacts of this largest Russian tour operator, whose office, as it turned out later, is practically located with all advertising attributes around the corner.
Such a service as the provision of a lunch box for an early check-out (4 am) at Krabi Resort was not even heard of. So, of course, they didn’t provide it at check-out, although they were warned, as expected, about an early check-out the day before departure.
General conclusion: an old hotel, without the sea, without quality services, at the same time far from budget and trying to bill for its non-existent stars.
