Rested in Krabi Railay district hotel Railay Princess Resort 3 * from February 25 to March 11.2013. I will try to describe everything in detail, when we chose this place, we were surprised at how few reviews and information there were, so I will describe my opinion and feelings (I will warn you right away it will not be aimed at OOO super, OOO cool, the description will be based on the fact and my observations! !! )
1. A little about the hotel. This hotel can only be reached by boat, we were unloaded from it and given directions where to go, I’ll say right away that the hotel is not new, and even if you take rooms like us deluxe, it’s still not chic, repairs have been asking for a long time (although the TVs are a bit walls have been updated. Opposite our hotel, there is a construction site and a global one, or rather EVERYWHERE construction site, so get ready - garbage, stink and dust are almost everywhere, although there was not a word about this on the Internet. Fortunately, our building 6301 was far away and we did not hear the noise, but we still have to walk through it, since this is the only way to the beach from Railay east and welding, cement almost fell on our heads, nothing is fenced. So the hotel is unremarkable, to spend the night or for a couple of days will do. The pool is small, there is a beach not as close as shown in the photo of the hotel, go min 7 to it and the photo indicated that it was right on the beach with a pool and sunbeds, this is also a lie. The hotel has only buildings, a backwater around the reception from which there was darkness mosquitoes and a pool and half-dried greenery on the territory, no one is watching the arrangement of the territory there at all.
2. Food and breakfast at the hotel. We looked like our breakfasts for a couple of days and stopped, not only variety, but there was almost nothing, paradise was only for the cat who lived there - sausages, boiled ham, noodles and pancakes, or pancakes, you couldn’t make out the sticky ones, they were scrambled eggs, and this all 15 days... so we bought a lot of fruit and then scored for breakfast. The food itself in this area - there is a place to eat, a sea of u200bu200brestaurants, the only question is quality, we tried both on Railay WEST there are 2 restaurants, and how to go along Volkin Street a little deeper there are 3 cafes. Most of all I liked the MANgrove restaurant, although it’s ridiculous to call it that, it looks dumb, but the food is very tasty and cheap (2 soups, 2 hot + beer = the highest we paid was 450 baht). The place was very fond of foreigners, and we were tempted to do this and did not regret it. It was also possible to eat if you go to Ao Nang (city), there is a sea cafe, we had dinner 3 times in Our Russia (Russian restaurant) and in SeaFood (turn left from the boats to the end) these are restaurants right on the seashore in a row around 6 pcs. They always ate at 3 from the start, they cooked very tasty, although not cheap, they cooked awesome lobsters (the average bill with soup, a second and a drink always came out from 2400 baht to 3000 baht, but for some reason I liked the mangrove one anyway more))))

3. Massage, fruits and shopping. All this, of course, is more in Ao Nang, we had massage parlors, but after the story of friends, they rushed from there like a bullet - grandma cooks pancakes and does massage right there, so think about what quality it all is. We didn’t experiment, always go to the city for 15 minutes and you’re there, first you went to buy fruit at the market, then you got to the massage parlor, ate and went home, it was very convenient. I will not recommend massage parlors, I think everyone will find something of their own there both in terms of price and quality. Massage costs 400 baht with coconut oil. As for shopping, if you don’t want to bring hats, T-shirts, sunblock and a lot of nonsense, then you can buy all this in AO Nang (there are a lot of pharmacies and mini markets). IT IS WORTH TO DRIVE our TAIGA from mosquitoes, but the sea does not take them there and the Thai remedy does not take them, for 15d. take 2 packs, enough to turn on at night, otherwise mosquitoes eat twice. There we also went to the farm by car 7 minutes from Ao Nang beach - we bought pearl-based creams, a number of products from cobra venom and cross the road there in the same latex store, of course it is more expensive than in Phuket, but when you realize that Phuket is far we bought everything in these stores, a year ago I brought these creams from Phuket and was delighted.
4. Move. I note that to Ao Nang and to your Railay you will only travel by boat, there are no roads and this will be the only mode of transport on which you will return home, I will say right away that boatmen work officially as a company from 7.30 am to 18.00 pm (one way 100 baht per person), and then they are on their own and sometimes get ready to go nuts from the prices that they wring and you won’t have a way out, because in the evening everything changes, or wait for 8 people only then he will start it for 150 baht or pay for the boat it is from 900-1000bat. If you are not in a hurry, then you can wait, although you can wait a long time, we waited an hour a couple of times and always looked at the number of people, if there are people waiting, but there is no one, then we eat alone. Remember one moment in the morning everyone comes to Railay from Ao Nang to sunbathe, and in the evening, on the contrary, everyone from the city goes back to their place, that is, if you rush early in the morning for an excursion, you may not get people and go for 600 baht, in the evening if you need to go to the city with 17.00 to 18.30 to leave really very quickly people are recruited, then back from the city home at 20-21.00 hours it is problematic to leave, unless of course you pay for the whole boat.
5. Excursions. In principle, Railay itself is not bad (2 beaches were Railay WEST and from Railay EAST to the right along the cliff there is also a good big beach). If, of course, to score on the construction site and the stench and the crowd of people who will be taken from everywhere, then our beach itself is ideal, and by 16.00 there is silence and everyone is taken away from Railay further. If you do not agree to this, then you can do as we did, we took a boat with my husband and traveled around the islands. The first excursion is the islands for 2200 baht half a day visiting 3 islands (Tab, Chicken and Pod). Very beautiful and the sea is cleaner and there were not many people. The second excursion is a boat for the whole day at Phi Phi Island 7000 baht (Bamboo Island, Maya Bay Beach, Phi Phi Ley Bay, Viking Rock and Phi Phi Don), just take good boats with a powerful motor and with a young boatman it’s easier with them, they and they will tell and show everything (in English, of course). We all traveled to Phi Phi, we liked it very much and did not expect anyone, if you want to save money, take your friends and divide 7000 baht by the number of people. The third excursion was to Hong Island and further kayaking through the mangroves, where Avatar was filmed, I liked it less, it was very tiring, when you paddle and you have time to catch up with the guide, you didn’t really see everything.
Summing up, I’ll say that in general it’s not bad in Krabi, if you are not tight on money and can choose to go there, eat here, and not just sit in a hotel, but I was not delighted with how it was in Phuket, after all, Krabi is still develops and they still need to bring a lot of things to mind, finish building hotels, tidy up in the end, otherwise mountains of garbage from the heat create such a duhan, and plant at least flowers, otherwise Tai and even not a single orchid, even though this is a trifle, but Reilly lacks the cosiness of a resort town. Although the sea is excellent, the water is clear and clean, the sand is soft; the food in many establishments is good; We are also satisfied with the massage, so the rest went well, not super of course, but I won’t say that it’s disgusting.
