We rested at the hotel in November 2010. The rest was amazing, literally everyone liked it! A very, very beautiful hotel with original pools, a green flowering area, spacious rooms and pleasant staff. The hotel is located in a quiet location, close to the entertainment center of Chaweng. For us, this was an indisputable advantage - an excellent beach, few people, gorgeous nature, but entertainment is by no means absent.

A very, very beautiful hotel with original pools, a green flowering area, spacious rooms and pleasant staff. The hotel is located in a quiet location, close to the entertainment center of Chaweng. For us, this was an indisputable advantage - an excellent beach, few people, gorgeous nature, but entertainment is by no means absent. Outside the hotel, there are many massage parlors and decent restaurants where you can eat deliciously and inexpensively. I can not say that this is a relaxing holiday, not at all! Perhaps, in comparison with Pattaya, perhaps. . . I would call this hotel on Koh Samui an excellent combination of untouched island nature with interesting excursions and entertainment.

The hotel, my friends, is excellent! Like the beach itself, where it is located. Although, of course, what is pluses for one, may be minuses for another. This I mean that this Choengmon Beach is a 10-15 minute drive from the most popular Chaweng Beach in Samui. Having visited Chaweng, my wife and I concluded that for us this very remoteness is an absolute advantage.

This I mean that this Choengmon Beach is a 10-15 minute drive from the most popular Chaweng Beach in Samui. Having visited Chaweng, my wife and I concluded that for us this very remoteness is an absolute advantage. Less noisy, less crowded. Great sand, great sea, great view (Choeng Mon Beach is such a cozy cove). Cozy and reasonably priced restaurants. In the evening, before sunset, tables from some restaurants are taken out directly on the sand by the sea, while the rest are still open, so you are always in the fresh air, you see the sea and listen to the sound of the waves. Very cozy and romantic.
There is no crush or crowd, as well as various marginal personalities who can spoil the rest of normal people with their inadequate behavior - everything is decorous, calm, pacifying, if music comes from any restaurant, it is pleasant and quiet. Nevertheless, this is not at all a "pensioner's" and not "elite-prim" place - it's just so calm and dignified.
And whoever likes “hotter” places, then, in my opinion, it’s better to go to more “noisy” resorts like Phuket or Pattaya (I myself haven’t been there - but all my friends who have visited both there and there agreed on this). However, there are "points of separation" on Koh Samui. Who needs - will find. We haven’t been to Chaweng beach itself either, so I won’t talk about the beach, but we visited the streets of Chaweng. Did not like. At first, we thought that at least we would wander through these noisy shopping malls - we would find something interesting, in terms of unusual rags, souvenirs, etc. As a result, we were only tired.
If shopping - then only in Nathon - the administrative center of Koh Samui. There, prices are lower, and there is less crush, and there is more choice than in Chaweng.
Let's go back to the hotel. It is simply buried in greenery, flowers growing on the ground, bushes, trees, and even in special water beds (there are beautiful water flowers like water lilies or lotuses - I don’t understand. They curl up at night, and open in the morning - that’s right! ). Everything is perfectly clean and tidy. Two pools, each made in its own, very interesting style. Sculptures, fountains. I read that this hotel was built already in the 80s. So, it does not give the impression of "not new" at all. Repair there is carried out on-line, you will not see any peeling surfaces or something like that. They themselves observed how in the evening, after the “closing” of the pool, two employees tinted some kind of speck (or something) on its edge, which, apparently, appeared that day.
The hotel has "regular" buildings: rooms with terraces, with views of the internal garden / pool, and there are separate cottages converted from real wooden (teak) cargo ships (they are called barges, although in my opinion, a barge is something long, open and iron). These boats, as the hotel booklet says, actually once sailed along the rivers of continental Thailand, carried mainly rice and other goods. Then they were brought here and for about a year they were converted into hotel cottages. It turned out very interesting.
We lived in one of those. These "numbers" are called Boat Suit. Entrance through the stairs, through the top, there is a living room: sofa, armchairs, TV, tables. You go down the winding stairs: there is also a small living room with a sofa, a table, wardrobes and a bedroom. A total of three rooms. Air conditioners in each. Well, the bathroom, of course.
On the upper deck, the windows are large, for the entire height of the floor, on the lower deck, where the second living room and bedroom, on the contrary, are narrow - in the "hold" style. There is a terrace with two sun loungers and a beach umbrella, but what kind of Russian would sunbathe on the terrace when the warm sea is here! In general, very stylish, beautiful and functional!
It may not please except those who love an excess of light and light interior decoration. Teak, after all, is a dark wood. Furniture, decor elements, and what else is inside - everything is comfortable, interesting (which is worth a wicker wastebasket in the form of a toad with its mouth open, where you should throw garbage), in excellent condition. Room service and, in general, the hotel did not cause any complaints. Exactly the quality you expected. Breakfast is "ordinary", "four-star", without any frills (in the opinion of an experienced foreign tourist ), but you can eat.
If also the breakfast was as luxurious as the hotel itself, then it would be possible to unconditionally give 5 *! But that's just me, breakfast is not the most important thing. There is no point in booking dinner when buying a tour, as it will be much more interesting to dine in coastal restaurants in the neighborhood.
The hotel also has its own restaurant with access to the beach. In the evenings, "national buffets" were organized there, that is, dinners of some national cuisine, in the form of a buffet: Chinese, Thai, Italian, etc. Not bad there, but we still preferred beach restaurants: both more romantic and, honestly, cheaper. There are Russians in the hotel, but not many - mostly English and Germans.
In general, when a person says that he is satisfied with the trip, you can ask him a provocative question: would you go there again? So, I answer: I would go and I hope that I will visit there again.
