Thailand ...How many good, kind and positive words you hear from those who flew there and often rest !! ! My husband and I decided to pamper ourselves and fly in the middle of winter into summer!! ! Of course, entering one airport at a temperature of -43 degrees and leaving another airport and breathing in the fresh sea air is an indescribable feeling ...But, this is not about that now.

I want to tell you how it really happened. More precisely, the way we saw it. I’ve been abroad for the fourth time, before that I had vacationed in Turkey all three times, so in principle there is something to compare with (although many say that Thailand and Turkey cannot be compared! - you can, as much as you can! There are no incomparable things at all !! ) So I'll probably start.

My husband and I rested from December 19.2012 to December 28.2012. We lived in the Marina Tower Wing.

The flight went without delay, at the airport we were met by the guide of the tour operator Tez Tour - unlike other tour operators, we were not given wreaths, although everywhere and everywhere they put a wreath around the neck of everyone who arrived. Since we are in Thailand for the first time, for some reason I wanted to get this wreath too =)) But oh well, all this is trifles. They put us on a bus, some people got lost again ...Why can't I understand our people so unassembled! ? As a result, after 50 minutes of waiting for this magnificent “trinity”, we loaded onto the bus and drove off ...It’s very, very pleasing that we didn’t stop at any souvenir shops and other crap along the way. I know that some operators imported...But thank God, in our case, it worked out. Arriving at the hotel - went with wide eyes! We were struck by the dimensions of our hotel, everything is so beautiful, brilliant - it seemed we were in a fairy tale!! ! By the way, we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am. They promised to check in at 12:00, but in the end they settled at 12:30.
And thanks for that, at least we didn’t dangle until 14:00.

Settlement. This is hell. Of course, you can live, and of course we did not arise, especially since it seems that we gave a little money, we read the reviews before leaving. That is, we were mentally prepared for what we were offered. Seriously, the reviews that were written before my review of the rooms are all true. Everything is shabby, there are cobwebs everywhere, some kind of dirt. To turn on the TV we suffered for a long time, we thought it didn’t work for us. Then at breakfast we talked with a woman, she explained to us how and what. Of the Russian channels, only one worked - Russia 2. But in principle, we needed it insofar as. Everything else was in working order but VERY, VERY old. There is a film on the windows, when you come to the room, then immediately the mood becomes somehow gloomy - it feels like a thunderstorm is about to break out =)) The room itself is very, very small. Between the bed and the bedside table you can’t go to the window, you had to climb through the bed.

The shower, in principle, is serviceable, but the pressure gave the mood - turn on the average pressure, it flows, flows, and then it turns on at full power! In general, fun!! ! The mirror is all stained. I rate our number at a 5-point school by 2 points. Because I think it could be worse. Although of course, not all hotels are like that. There are VIP places - from the 24th to the 40th floors. We saw rooms there - all in white, the rooms are large. Of course, they are not worth the money that we paid for our accommodation. By the way, at the reception you can find the cost of rooms: the usual one is 1500 baht, the average one is 4500 baht, and the most expensive one is 6500 baht per day. Apparently, these are just those rooms on the VIP floors. Cleaned up, thank God, well. Swans, of course, were not made from towels =), but nevertheless, we were always satisfied with the cleaning. With the exception of the windows, on which the cobwebs hung for years, and continued to hang.

Breakfasts. And they were? ? If what we were offered can be called breakfast, then I wash my hands.
The choice, of course, is very, very meager. Omelet, eggs - that's probably all that could be eaten there. Oh yes, and of course, fruit, although they cannot be compared with fruits from the market - pineapples are always hard at breakfast. So breakfast was very rare. We ordered a breakfast box several times (when we went on excursions) - but it’s even worse than at the breakfast itself. Therefore, during breakfast, you can safely enjoy your sleep - do not miss anything =)) By the way, it is really very, very cold in the dining room, right up to disgrace. This is another reason why I did not want to be there at all.

The territory of the hotel…Ambassador is his own city. With a strong desire to really relax and do nothing, you can simply not go beyond its territory.
The hotel has everything - and its own market - both clothing and fruit, and 5 swimming pools, and an observation deck - oh yes, a lot of things ...But ...again, this territory was useless for me. Of all the 10 days that we rested, we swam in the same pool 1 time, and the rest of the time was lost anywhere but not in the hotel. If you are traveling to Thailand for the first time, then I would not recommend this hotel, the territory is really very large, I don’t know how many football fields can be compared with the Ambassador territory. For the first time, I would choose a simpler hotel, anyway, most likely, you will spend all the time on excursions, and the rest of the time you will only spend the night there. Accordingly, you should not choose cool hotels with pools for yourself, it is better to save money on something more acceptable. On departure, it was even a shame that the legs did not reach the rest of the pools!

By the way, we learned about one of the pools only when we were on the observation deck on the 42nd floor. And before that, they didn’t even know where he was ! ! =)) The beach is very dirty. In fact, swimming in the sea is disgusting, you need to go to the islands. Although ...When we arrived, I was happy to plunge from winter into summer, and without giving a damn about everything, I went swimming. But I will say without deceit that after I went to the waist, I saw a huge watermelon peel on the left side, and on the right side - a terrible stain of dirt from some hair, some details - I can’t even describe. In general, in fact, the sea is very dirty. With beach towels, too, was a hassle. Take - sign up - give check out. Again these endless queues . . They never ended ...We did not bother, we walked with towels from the room.

Well, now, as for everything else. Let me remind you that this is only my SUBJECTIVE opinion, and perhaps among the readers there will be those people who do not agree with this.
But I will express what I felt / saw / felt. So so. There is a really cool observation deck on the 42nd floor. As in the palm of your hand you can see the entire territory that surrounds you. You will be surprised by the truly huge territory of this hotel, and indeed it’s great there !! ! Yes, of course, not removed, but we looked at the roof of other skyscrapers - about the same. We did not even pay attention to all the rubbish and garbage. It seems to be open from 9 o'clock, and closes at 18.30. You can’t get on it at night, and there’s nothing to do there at night. But during the day… Especially when the sun sets – it’s really very cool, be sure to choose the time and go to it. By the way, the 42nd floor can only be reached by two VIP elevators, which are, as it were, perpendicular to all the others (but they do not go to the 4th-23rd floors). Regular elevators only go up to the 40th floor. But there you can legs, legs.
By the way, it's even better if you have the opportunity to go to this site at the very beginning of your vacation - it will be very easy to find out what and where is =))

Now a little about elevators. After reading all sorts of reviews about Thailand and hotels, I came to the conclusion that it’s better not to settle on the lower floors (it’s somehow not comfortable, and they wrote in the reviews that there are a lot of rats and other living creatures in all of Thailand) - so I prayed that so that they settled us higher ...And in the end, they settled us in room 52221 - respectively, floor 22 ! ! Initially, I was immensely happy about this ...Until the evening came ...People! Seriously, you can't leave! Neither in the morning nor in the evening at rush hour. You can stand on your floor for up to an hour!!! ! The maximum we stood waiting for the elevator was during breakfast (we were going on an excursion, left in 15 minutes, and were late by 10 minutes!! ! )! We were waiting for the elevator for 25 minutes!!!
They sat down, and an elderly woman was driving from the 23rd floor, she said that she had been waiting for the elevator for exactly an hour! It just does not fit into any framework of a 4 * hotel ! ! It is during rush hour that more than half of the elevators do not work. And on the other half of the elevators at that time there are cleaning staff who clutter up the entire elevator with their equipment, and when you try to squeeze into the elevator, because you really have run out of patience, they shake their heads and hands - like you can’t go to them. Very hospitable, I tell you! Of course, you can walk ...But when you are on vacation, you don’t want to do this. In addition, there is still hope that the elevator is about to arrive. Many times a crowded elevator will come to your floor, and with any person who enters again, it will squeak - they say - too much. And you will stand again. We then began to call the elevator up and down.
More often, an elevator came that goes up, usually up to the 40th floor ...And it will stop on each floor, and then you will go down from the 40th floor ...And again with stops on each floor ...But waiting for this elevator is a whole event. In general, the lower you are settled, the more lucky you are. At least in this hotel! ! But the speed of the elevators is certainly powerful =)) If you are driving at a time when no one from other floors wants to leave in your direction, then you will be on your floor in a matter of seconds. In the elevator, he lays his ears, like in an airplane. It is a pity that you will rarely ride these elevators at such a speed, because there are a lot of people in the hotel and everyone needs to go somewhere!

Safe - I feel another negative about this. Well, is it really impossible to humanly make some kind of small safe so that it is in the room! ? It's just mind-boggling. Initially, we kept everything in a safe - documents, money, phones, cameras, etc. But!

To get all this from there, you need to stand in line again, the queue can be from 3 to 8 people. Everyone spends in this room from 3 to ...minutes up to 10 can be there !!! ! And you imagine what a “wonderful” vacation you will have while you put your things there or, conversely, take them away. In addition, you cannot hang the key to the safe, for example, on your room key and leave it at the reception! That is, the key to the safe should always be with me. Constantly dragging around with this key everywhere - well, I don’t know, I used to rest in different hotels, but I haven’t seen such a mess anywhere. As a result, only passports were thrown into the safe, and even then, just in case. And they didn't show up again. The key was always kept in the room, besides, everything was left in the room in a conspicuous place - money, cameras, camcorders, etc. They didn’t take anything, so the devil is not so terrible as he is painted =)

On December 24, there was a Christmas party in the Ocean Wing building.
The cheapest lunch cost 1500 baht for two - which, as I understand it, is very expensive by local standards =) Lunch was included, except for drinks. A bottle of wine cost from 800 rubles. Nothing special, dinner is dinner. Two hours later, all some sad and drooping began to disperse back. Apparently we weren't the only ones who were unimpressed. Good music played, a charming girl with an excellent voice sang, even Thai Santa Clauses came and tried to sing something! In general, if you have a desire to go to some evening at the hotel - it's not worth it, you better go on one of the excursions!

By the way, as for spending time at the hotel in the evening - so. At the bottom of the clock at 18.00 tents open, there are a lot of all kinds of food - from Japanese sushi to kebab ...But! Tamm is very, very expensive!! ! And if, nevertheless, you would like to spend a not very chic vacation, then it’s better not to eat there !!
We went once, spent a lot of money - for example - 1 piece of sushi costs about 30 rubles. Although acquaintances said that in the center the same sushi is sold for 5-10 rubles. Payment in this hotel cafe there is made by tokens, which can be bought there. But it is very expensive to eat there constantly, although the atmosphere is good - music plays, while we were resting, there was a Christmas tree ...Somehow it immediately becomes very joyful =))

There is no Russian-speaking staff AT ALL !! ! In principle, it seems to me that there are no Russian-speaking Thais =)) No, of course, I'm joking. But nevertheless, in every joke. We met with Thais who speak little Russian, but usually none of them knows either Russian or English, so it is simply impossible to agree on something with them. What is another disadvantage of this country for me personally.

And now I’ll tell you about my nightmare - this is their road ...When I read the reviews, I got the impression that the Thais are the most smiling and cheerful people in the world. But no matter how. Yes, they are ready to run you over, and if drivers see that you are crossing, they will not slow down on their car - and if you do not hurry - they will easily run you over. I'm not kidding, two weeks before our arrival, a woman with a small child was hit and killed near our hotel. Yes, because they drive like it is not clear who. And you won't prove anything, because in the local police the Thai is always right. A permanent resident (Russian) in Thailand told us how many hundreds of baht they buy their rights for, and how they pay off if someone is hit. For them, this is the same as, for example, us slipping on ice. Everything is simple. For them, life has no value at all.
I noticed this a couple of days later, and then random fellow travelers told me the same thing. Well, and still - how will those who firmly believe in reincarnation value life? Every tuk tuk ride was like a horror movie for me. I am surprised how people ride there standing up, and even 10 people each - these are real extreme sportsmen. They even have traffic lights not for pedestrians, but for drivers. Everything for drivers. Drivers do not cut each other, but a pedestrian - for a sweet deed. It seemed that they all without exception hate pedestrians. On the first day, I almost crossed the road with tears in my eyes - they rush at a tremendous speed, and the next day I found out that there was a pedestrian overpass on the left side of the exit from the hotel. Then I just used them. From 17.00 the police are working, but sometimes the drivers do not even pay attention to their gestures.
Therefore, even when the policeman came out to slow down the cars - do not rush, make sure that they really stopped. And in general, there is a feeling that there is no life until 17.00 !! ! Why only from 17.00!? ? The hotel is so huge, so many people cross this road! Well, at least some kind of traffic light would have been made for a short time ...Because you yourself understand how many people there are in the hotel !!!

We went to Walking Street many times. We got there like everyone else - on two tuk-tuks. One day, they accidentally sat on the wrong one, without having a card in their hands. Then we wandered for 40 minutes, getting out to the right place. Landmark - Big C, or Sukumvit street. If you are lost in the city - ask any Sukumvit. They will definitely point you in the right direction. So never forget to take a map with you. It is issued by tour operators, and it is also available at the reception for free, or you can buy it in any store - for example, in seven-eleven.

By the way, as far as Big C is concerned - there is an Outlet Mall shopping complex just a short distance from it - the complex itself is complete bullshit. But behind it there is a night market - if you want to buy - then go there. The prices are very cheap and the selection is very large!! ! We usually went to Walking Street in the evening, the main thing is to get to Big C, where tuk-tuks go even after 00 hours. But back - from Walking Street to Big C by tuk-tuk, and here you have to take a taxi. Taxi drivers are arrogant, it takes 10 minutes to drive, and they raise prices very high. We once bargained for 120 baht, but it didn’t work out like that anymore, we went for 150. You can also take a taxi from Walking Street, we bargained for 280, this is after midnight. And so - everyone offered for 300, and in no case less.
On one of the last evenings, we practically witnessed a terrible accident - a tuk-tuk, or rather a taxi, crashed into a jeep (we braked this tuk-tuk literally 2 minutes ago, but it drove by), and then we saw such an unpleasant picture: the front bumper of the tuk-tuk was completely torn apart, a woman was sitting in the cabin, motionless, holding her head. A lot of people gathered there, everyone was screaming, running… But it was really scary. The driver stopped, went to find out what and how it was. He asked us to sit. She comes so pleased - as I understand it, she has something with her head, a concussion or a severe bruise, but thank God she is alive ...So he comes like this - laughs, parodies her. It became just creepy, after all, the Thais are really some kind of evil.

As I wrote above, Tez Tour served as our tour operator. I can’t say that I was satisfied or dissatisfied - I can say one thing - they are as arrogant as Anex Tour, Pegasus and others.
The rest of the information is hidden under seven locks. Tez Tour had an unpleasant situation. Our tour package included two excursions - Pattaya Sightseeing Tour (100% of respondents advised us not to go on this tour, they say they only take us to shops so that we can spend money, although in fact we don’t really know anything about Pattaya), and the second excursion was - Crocodile farm. So that's exactly where we wanted to go (they say it's very interesting). We came to Tez Tour and said we want to go there. He told us - let's you buy excursions, well, we tell him that we are not interested in this yet, that so far we are only interested in the Crocodile Farm. In general, they chose a day, he wrote it down on a piece of paper and said - well, that's it, you leave for this excursion in a week.

My husband and I leave them, literally 5 minutes pass, we discussed and realized that we can’t do it every day - we return to the tour and ask to postpone this excursion for 1 day ahead. To which he categorically says no! Nothing else can be done, only everything is paid!! ! To be honest, I don't believe a single word he says! They just steal money!! ! A matter of principle! Therefore, these tour is not better than all the others. And their excursions are exactly 1.5 times more expensive than in other tents. And the level of service is worse than in the same tents! And do not listen to the fact that your insurance will not work if you go from other companies - your insurance company is by no means Tez Tour, but honey. company, and insurance is valid throughout Pattaya, regardless of where, God forbid, misfortune happened. But as far as insurance is concerned, it is understandable that this is also a conditional thing. And there are too many BUT!
In principle, I think that in 90% of cases they will find excuses so that your case turns out to be NOT insured, but nevertheless ...Tez Tour told too many horror stories about what happens to those who take excursions not from them ...All nonsense, not believe! THIS IS BUSINESS! ! But, I was pleased that they could take SIM cards with a fairly cheap rate - 4 rubles / minute. To call a mobile phone, they dialed 006007 and then the number (ХХХ-ХХХ-ХХХХ).

The Thai food was not impressive. Everything is spicy and tasteless. You can ask without pepper and spices, but again it will not be tasty. Thai Tom Yan soup (or whatever it is? ) was also not impressive - they only caught shrimp from there - everything else is not tasty. Well, about the fact that Thais are very arrogant, I seem to have already reminded =))

Were on a Thai massage - first in Thai-German - did not understand at all what it was - constantly looked at the clock, some kind of erratic massage.
Then we went for a foot massage - wow ...bliss, after that we didn’t go, but flew ...And then we had a Thai classic massage. Well, to be honest - with all due respect to this country - nothing at all. With a Turkish massage, from which goosebumps run down the back - there is no comparison at all ! ! Maybe she pressed the wrong points, but somehow the truth was not impressed.

Well, in the end, I'll tell you about the excursions. Were on some excursions, which were considered the most-most. 1) Tiffany. Show of transvestites. For a long time I could not understand which of them was a transvestite and which was not. Then I guessed that, apparently, the one who plays the main role and is a transvestite, and then the guide (already of another tour) said that this is so, only those who dance in the backup dancer are those people who dream of becoming a transvestite and hope that they will succeed =)) 2) X-show. Well, except in Thailand, you won’t see this show anywhere else, that’s for sure =)) A show where all the numbers are performed in the nude.
Well, I won’t tell you what they are doing there, you have to see it. I think for people over 35 it will look vulgar, so young people - I think you should go once =)) And they do oh what things there =)) 3) River Kwai. do not listen to those who sell excursions - we were told that the travel time takes only 4 hours ! ! This is LIE!!! ! If you count all the time on the road, which this two-day trip took, then exactly one day will come out !!! ! After 4 hours there will be the first excursion - a floating market, after which you will drive for another 2.5 hours, then a mountain of monkeys, then another 2.5 hours and so on. We arrived at the River Kwai at 19.30, when it was already dark! And after all this road, we didn’t need anything more than to go to bed ! ! Of course, we overpowered ourselves and made us feel like we were in the jungle… But this road…. Actually very exhausting. In addition, the next morning at 9 already departure.
We specially got up at 7 in the morning to take pictures, because when we arrived, nothing was visible at all. Although the tour is certainly interesting - one floating market is worth it, well, the mountain of monkeys is understandable (these monkeys are generally my weakness, I tried to take excursions that somehow affect the monkeys! ), Well, these houses on the water themselves are, of course, just gorgeous ...There will also be another 7-level waterfall - beautiful, of course, but stopping there for 2 hours is completely inappropriate. And other companies have the same programs, but the waterfall is on the second day, so it's better to choose this one. Because the waterfall is not needed at all on the first day. But next time I will never go on a 2-day excursion where the road takes 20-24 hours!! ! 4) Sea safari. Probably, this excursion is for fans of extreme sports. We also got at a time when there was a wild storm in the sea.
Our boat was shaking so that two people at least seriously injured their backs. In addition, from the bow of the boat on the next turn, people simply fell into the center of the boat, someone hit with something, one child injured his arm, there were tears. But the girl is well done, she quickly coped with her fear. Despite the fact that the boat was half-closed, everyone arrived soaking wet. Getting on a boat is also very long, but I liked this excursion, of course, not because of extreme sports, which I am not at all a fan of, but because of the island of tame monkeys - this is where I would advise you to go ...It's just awesome! They themselves jump on their hands - one sits an earring on me twists, the second removes the elastic from the hair, the third sat down at the very beginning and sat - until I started to climb back on the boat! Feelings after this sea. But there we stayed only for 15 minutes (which I just didn’t have enough at all !!!! ), and then extreme again !!

At the very beginning there was an animal show - I didn’t like it, I expected much more interesting, although there were, of course, unusual moments =)) It’s just that everyone was waiting for this show, but it was much more interesting to feed the animals with hands =)) In general, I liked it, I advise go. 6) Our last excursion - we left it for dessert. This is Bounty Island or Koh Kood Island. There was a choice to go to the island of Koh Chang, but we were more advised to Koh Kood - supposedly there is such nature, just like in the Bounty advertisement. And again the road. Although, here we drove the prescribed 4 hours as we were promised. But our driver rushed at such a speed along this road for all 4 hours, absolutely not keeping the distance and the rules that I still thank my guardian angel for the fact that during my whole trip with these reckless people I remained safe and sound. I'm less afraid of planes than Thai drivers.
She was impossible to find! And then it turned out that she and another group were resting in another hotel, apparently where our group should have been originally brought. There were many dissatisfied. They called tirelessly to their company, were indignant that they had brought them to the wrong place. But it was of little use ...Everyone said that they brought us to a more comfortable hotel than they promised ...Yeah ...right now ...In general, we didn’t bother, especially since these were the last two days in this country. We rested well, calmly. But I do not advise anyone to go to this island and spend that kind of money. In addition, if you are planning to go to the islands, then there are programs with food and programs without food.
There are 5 more islands on this island - all sorts of different ones, but you can stay at the place where you arrive ...There is very beautiful light green water ...In fact, it seems to me even cooler than on the same Koh Kood. But we still traveled by tuk-tuk for about 10 minutes to the island of monkeys, you can tell the tuk-tuk driver where you need to go. Pay another 10 or 20 baht, I don't remember! There is also a good island, although the water is bluer, but there is a mountain of monkeys, which you can also feed, they certainly won’t climb on you, they are wild ! ! But you will get a lot of impressions! Bananas are sold on this island - but very expensive, so if you are going there specifically for this purpose, it is better to take food with you =))

We took all the excursions in a company across the street from our hotel - the company is called "Syuda Tour", a Russian boy Zhenya and a girl work there (I don't remember their names =)). Very sociable guys, they will tell you everything, they will change money at a favorable rate!

Next to them is such a Thai cafe, if you order squid or something more edible there, you can eat at quite reasonable prices. They also asked for an excursion to the fair-haired girl Sonya, she also sits across the road, just as you go down from the pedestrian crossing. But I liked working with Zhenya much more. The last excursion to the island of Koh Kood was taken at the company "River Tour" - also across the street from the hotel. Didn't like it at all. Neither benevolence, nor a clear story, as it turned out later, did not tell at all what was actually happening. But it’s a pity Zhenya didn’t have this excursion that day =)

In principle, this is all the main thing I wanted to tell. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. All I can say is that we really had a great time! And I do not regret a single day that we spent somehow wrong !! ! Everything was perfect and no complaints! But one thing I understood for sure - Thailand is not my country.
There was no that drive and positive, there were no noisy companies and endless fun. It was a relaxing holiday for couples in love or for people who are looking for peace and quiet. To be honest, I don’t understand people who go to Thailand 10 times in 3 years and are already shaking from trip to trip from the desire to be here. I took the liberty of comparing Thailand and Turkey. Yes, in my case, Thailand was not even close. Too many things that weren't for me. Leaving Turkey, I feel a lot of stress, because I am very worried about parting with those people whom I met there, about parting with that environment, about parting with this country and local residents. 3 days before leaving Thailand, I began to miss home, and this has never happened to me before. On the day of departure, I prayed to the plane that it would not be delayed, and when we landed in our native Novosibirsk, my happiness knew no bounds.
I will not come to Thailand again. Probably never. There are too many things here that are “not mine”, which I don’t understand! But no matter what, I will have fond memories of this trip.

I will be glad if among you there is at least one person who will read my review to the end. I want to remind you once again that this is purely my personal opinion, and of course, for sure, you have something to object to me. I hope that I am not writing this in vain, and even the smallest part of the information I have said will be useful to the next tourists of this hotel and this country. My email is nspu_mf@ngs. ru If you have questions, comments, suggestions, you can write to me on this mailbox, I will listen to everything with pleasure and answer!
