Dor Shada 4* - stayed there for 5 days in October 2008. Overall impression - wonderful hotel! Not chic, but stylish, good finishes, original Thai-style furniture made of natural wood, modern plasma in the rooms instead of an immense TV box, Internet included in the price of the room, even floor scales : ) The overall look and territory of the hotel really resembles a Buddhist temple , the hotel itself and the rooms are decorated in a modern Thai style. The territory is small, but very beautiful, all in exotic vegetation, birds are chirping, pleasant Thai music is quietly playing near the pool. The pool is large and beautiful, with a waterfall, bar, jacuzzi. Even the standard cheapest room is quite spacious, about 40 sq. m, the room has everything for convenience + in addition to the above set for tea and coffee, minibar fridge (does not leak), hair dryer, toiletries, air conditioning, bathrobe, slippers, el. safe. There were no chairs and tables on the balcony, but it was impossible to sit there (stuffy and “aromas”).
The peculiarity of the hotel is that it was new at that time (it opened in 2008), so everything is new, everything works. Another nice feature is that there are very few people there (at that time).
The beach, and it is its own here and quite clean, was often empty, there was no one. The same with the pool. We were so spoiled that we didn’t even swim in it if at least one person was sitting there. There is a playground, a golf course, a spa, massages, which are done on the same deserted beach : )

The staff is smiling and pleasant, they say hello every time they see you, folding their hands like a boat, they try to speak Russian. They always run ahead of you to open the door (otherwise it’s hard for you), they run ahead of you if you approach the sunbed and put umbrellas, open and close and rearrange them during your lying down depending on the sun, but they do everything unobtrusively . The unfortunate 100 m that you pass from the building to the gate of the hotel will bring you up on a bobbike. Cleaned always well, bedding and towels (all snow-white) changed every day. Tipping was left every day for 20-40 baht, but they never brought flowers, but there were welcome fruits : )
Breakfast at the hotel is not numerous, but every day the menu is different, everything is fresh and tasty (Thai cuisine). There is always the so-called European, that is, scrambled eggs, toast, sausages, muesli, etc. , there is fresh fruit. You will not be hungry and try new national delicacies.
Another feature - the hotel is located away from the center. Is it good or bad? Pros: quiet, sparsely populated place, its own clean beach. Cons: far from the center. By tuk-tuk for 20 baht / person. (do not forget about the rules for using tuk-tuks) min. 15 you will reach civilization, Lotus shopping center, Big C, etc. (they found good inexpensive food, etc. ), then you can transfer to another tuk-tuk (10 baht) and get to the embankment. We wonderfully solved the issue with distances by renting a motorbike.
During my stay, I have never heard of thefts in the hotel, but I read on the Internet that in this hotel they steal from closed safes. Horror! I can not believe it! It didn't happen to us.
