Today (Jan 21.2012) returned from this hotel. In Pattaya for the second time, and during the trip we saw quite a lot of Thai hotels, so we boldly say, you should not go to Montien))). The hotel class is much lower than its cost, weak in all respects and for the same money in Pattaya you can live in a lot!! ! the best conditions.
So why is Montien bad?
1) Old hotel. The numbers were made 10-15 years ago and nothing has changed since then. Uncomfortable, out of date, feeling of dilapidation and the "spirit of old age". All the furniture, decor, plumbing in the rooms is old, with traces of a life lived. By the way VERY uncomfortable shower. The general feeling of the room - you live in Gelendzhik)) Again, for the same money you can live in another place with great comfort.
2) Average breakfast. The choice of dishes is not very large (compared to other hotels) + few fruits and local food + the menu does not change. THOSE. you can eat, but there is no special happiness))

3) Old technology. On the last evening before departure, the safe with tickets, documents and money did NOT open. The staff did not help much, they said wait in the morning, the burglar will come and open the safe. Departure at 7 am. There are no documents. I didn’t sleep much, as you know)) As a result, the safe was broken into at 7.10 after the involvement of the hotel manager, our flight was delayed and spoiled the mood. By the way, the manager did not apologize.
4) Ordinary staff, territory. Usually in hotels, Thais are as friendly as possible, smiling, trying to help. Here, neither this nor that. They are not rude, they help when asked, but of course there is no spirit of "a million smiles".
Of the advantages of the hotel, the location is probably the location, it is really in the center, BUT getting around Beach Road and Volkin Street is not a problem at all, so the hotel can stand anywhere on these streets.
If you choose a hotel in central Pattaya, then I would recommend Siam Bayshore. It costs the same as Montien, but the difference is huge! Territory, rooms, food, service - everything is much better. From the class above, a large and high-quality Grand Centara. But not Montien))))) Do not spoil the impression of Tai)))
By the way, another important point. Excursions, of course, must be bought in street travel agencies, there is the same thing, but much cheaper. On the last trip, all excursions were bought in Maffa tour, from Geng (on the second road office) and everything was ok. This time they didn't come for us 3 times))))) Some kind of collapse this year at Genga, all the tours with them were unsuccessful (to put it mildly). I don’t recommend it either, probably something is happening with them (they have a family travel agency).
In general, Tae is VERY good! Eternal sanuk and sabai. Ride, fruits, sea, islands, elephants, chili. . . Thailand is very diverse)))))) We can answer questions))) If anything, write)))
