I have been vacationing abroad every year since 1997, but in Thailand for the first time. I liked it, of course, a mouthful of impressions! But I won't go again. I think that it is interesting for young people here, because. many nightclubs and discos (my daughter is delighted! ); men who came for sex exotics. Still go those who love massage. I dont like.
A holiday in Pattaya is a holiday in a big, rather dirty city. If you swim near the hotel, then, as in Sochi - the beach is along the road, the sea is dirty, cars are overhead.
In general: far, expensive and dirty. I like Egypt or the Emirates more, most importantly, the sea is gorgeous and you don’t have to drag yourself anywhere to swim.

About the hotel. Bad, of course, but you can live. Just not on the ground floor. There, in general, it’s like in a pioneer camp of the 70s: it’s dark, on the walls warped from moisture and time, gray fiberboard stained from crushed mosquitoes, outdoor wiring, an antediluvian TV, and, most importantly, windows right next to a high wall and a dump. On the second and third floors, the rooms are much better: firstly, it is clear that there has recently been a renovation - it is quite clean. Secondly, there are at least some shelves, chairs, otherwise there is nowhere to put things. There is not a single shelf in the single closet.
Certain advantages, of course, the hotel has:
1. away from the center, i. e. quieter and cleaner.
2. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the center without transfers.
3. there is at least some territory; pool, which always has free sun loungers.
The cons are the following:
1. the room is small,
2. in the shower, water flows directly onto the floor, there is not even a curtain (see photo)
3. half of the balcony is occupied by an air conditioner, from which, of course, hot air comes out, i. e. you can only be on the balcony if the air conditioner is turned off,
4. next to the hotel - a cafe. And those who are used to sleeping with an open window are disturbed by loud music.
5. no beach. If you want to swim, then you have 3 options:
a) for young and physically prepared. Sunbathe on sun loungers near the hotel, and
swim across the road. But here you have to overcome the "miracle ladder"
(see photo).
b) walk along the promenade towards the center to the beach you like for about 15 minutes
20 and sunbathe on paid sun loungers shoulder to shoulder.
c) by tuk-tuk you get to the pier, transfer to a crowded ferry or
boat (which is much faster and more comfortable, but much more expensive) and sail
to the islands.
Separately, I would like to say that I have never, in any country, encountered so much crime. A Thai man attacked me and my daughter at night and took away the bag. They tried to break the chain of a girl from our hotel, the chain did not break, and the poor girl was dragged behind a motorbike for several meters. Quite often they say that they steal money from hotels. In general, be careful.
