In Camelot, we checked into room 236 in the main building. The location of the hotel suited us, but the room faced a blank wall and the window did not open. The food in the hotel is below average (usually everything was cold), but this was not the main thing for us, we knew that we were eating in a cheap hotel. We decided that we would not sit only on the beach and went on excursions: 2 days of Kwai, 2 days of Cambodia, discovery - 1 day, 1 day - Disneyland, 1 day - Pattaya sightseeing (free from TeZ-tour) I'm in Pattaya for the second time and probably the last: 4 years ago, rats the size of a small cat had not yet run along the embankment and some daredevils still swam on the city beach. Now there is an impression of complete unsanitary conditions - city drains are all dumped into the sea. You can swim only after driving to the nearest island of Ko-lan (40 minutes - there and 40 minutes - back). Sunbeds are all paid - 100 rubles each. For those who love only a beach holiday, I advise you to choose more environmentally friendly places - the islands of Phuket, Samet, Kochan, etc.
If you are still going to Pattaya, then I advise you to definitely visit an excursion to the Kwai River - you will see beautiful waterfalls, picturesque nature. I bought all excursions on the street!! ! If you don’t want to overpay money, don’t take it from tour operators. The service is the same for everyone and Russian-speaking guides - too! For Kwai with Erawan, I paid 2600 rubles, for Cambodia - 2 days in a 3-star hotel. - 4500 rubles, but there were those who paid for Cambodia - 3900 rubles. Entry to Cambodia for Russian citizens without paying a visa, 2 photos are needed. Drive to Cambodia by minivan 4.5 -5 hours. 1st day - lost (jewelry factories, etc. ), 2nd day - Angorvat. What you see on the Internet is much more impressive than what you will be shown. City lost in the jungle Yes, this is an ordinary park for tourists with ruins. The pyramids in Cairo are more impressive than these Khmer ruins. For those who still want to visit Cambodia, I recommend taking small dollars there. Before you start buying souvenirs, ask how much luggage you are allowed to take out. So the Rossiya airline company allows only 15 kg for a suitcase and 5 kg for hand luggage. For each extra kg - 570 rubles. It is better to spend money on pleasures - seafood, massages, etc.
I want to warn newcomers about latex pillows: at the factory - 3 thousand rubles, in the Festival (in the city center) on the 1st floor - 1 thousand - exactly the same !!! ! Look at the factory there are no foreigners - only Russian speakers are bred !! ! Be carefull! You can eat cheaply at the Festival on the 0th floor: at the checkout, take a card, put 200 baht on it and you can choose whatever you want - from Russian cuisine to Vietnamese. You can return this card and get change back or report money tomorrow and come again . For those who have digestive problems, I want to advise: before each meal, eat a few pieces of papaya - it turns out that the Thais do this. And then you are not afraid of any disorders. I recommend taking with you on a trip to the first-aid kit - loperamide (for diarrhea), bifiform (to normalize the intestinal flora) and do not eat all the fruits at once !! ! Very useful - mangosteen 40 baht (round brown fruits - inside the share like garlic), mango - mandatory (yellow) - 70 baht, pineapples - 20 baht, rambutans, etc. We went to the night market - considered (there were 4 of us) lost time - bargain and buy everything near the hotel. I really liked the weather at the end of January - 33-35 degrees. - there is no heat, even the cream was almost not smeared, you do not burn. The main visitors to Pattaya are Chinese, Indians, Russians. Westerners are mostly foreigners on the islands.
