The full name of the hotel is Hotel Club Meninx Floriana. It took about 40 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport, stopping at other hotels. Neither we nor the children (2.5 and 12 years old) got tired. Still, a new country, a different architecture. We looked around.
Settled in quickly. We had a small two-story building with 28 rooms with a small patio-"well". Features of architecture. The room for 4 is not very large, but this did not upset us at all, because: 1) we did not come to sit in the room; 2) right through the balcony door you could go to the sea, to the beach!! ! Waking up in the morning, raising our head from the pillow, we immediately saw the beach and the sea! There are 2 such buildings. And the main building of the hotel is 2 floors of a tricky configuration. Walking through the twisted corridors, opening unexpectedly into beautiful courtyards, galleries and arches, was one of the entertainments for children (and us! ). There are 263 rooms in the hotel (the sum of numbers from all hotel indexes). The buildings are located so that a strong wind from the sea does not blow. Only weak, refreshing.
In the room: ROCA plumbing, climate control, a closet with hangers, Samsung TV (did not watch) with remote control, a table and 2 chairs on the balcony. There are ropes for drying things, but it is better to take a few clothespins with you, as the wind sometimes blows things away.
All staff are Tunisians. The hotel area is always cleaned. Palm trees, bushes, flowers (very many of them), grass - always watered. The room was cleaned every day. Clean, fresh towels. Tipped 2-3 times. They didn't take it. They came and put them in their hands. Only then did they take it. One pillow was made of wood - hard. Said about it. I thought that they did not understand me. In the evening the pillow was different. The bartenders are reserved and polite. Not cheeky. only one with a fat physique in the bar at the reception. He always grinned and knew only one word: “Baksheesh”. In the restaurant, the waiters will always pour both wine and water. Several times and we gave "tea".
In the hotel, 90% of vacationers are Italians. The flight from them is an hour, and everything is cheaper than theirs by 2-3 times. This is their resort. In nutrition, attention is also paid to this - always different pizzas, spaghetti, pastas. There have always been national dishes. Some tasted good, some didn't. For an amateur. Fresh salads 5-7 types. Fruits - peaches, plums, apples, oranges, watermelons almost always. Sweets, of course, the sea. Several times they cooked fish and chicken at the restaurant on the grills. Neither we nor the children could complain about the monotony and hunger. The hotel bar and pool bar are open between breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are juices like Yuppies, local wines, beer, coffee. Then they began to cook at the pool and at the bar, cut watermelons, etc.
The animation team is part Tunisian, part Italian. In the morning, in the afternoon on the beach, football, volleyball; in the water aerobics pool; table tennis and darts competitions. In the evening - live music in the courtyard of the hotel, after dinner - a disco for kids and performances in the open theater. Well done. Here are just the language - French, Italian. Russian and English - no. With children, there is also a language barrier. But there is a children's room, a playground under a palm canopy, an outdoor children's pool, an indoor children's pool. With sunbeds by the children's pool can be difficult. It is easier for an adult, but it is better to put a towel or a T-shirt.
The beach is wide, sandy and clean. There were always enough sunbeds and palm umbrellas. 2 times after a strong wind there was a lot of algae - quickly removed. We didn't see sea urchins or jellyfish. A good place to enter the water is fenced with buoys. The bottom is sandy, but in places there are stones. This is already where there are no buoys. Depth is gained not quickly. Further from the shore - stone boulders under water. They are visible. But there is plenty of space for swimming with and without children. The beach offers various water activities. Everyone else had fun looking for beautiful shells off the coast. Now 2 liter jars stand as a keepsake. There is also chess. Half a meter tall figure. The son called to play - both burned down. Be sure to take all white shirts with long sleeves and a collar. Good for the first few days.
Some prices - a sightseeing tour of the island / 4 people = 70 dinars. I liked the tour. Dollars, if necessary, change directly at the hotel. The course is the same everywhere. Billiards - 1 dinar. Golf (deposit for balls and clubs) - 10 dinars / 2 hours. From the entertainment in the hotel there is also a massage and a hookah. Went several times 500-600 meters from the hotel to the store. Big enough. Leather jackets, leather bags, souvenirs, groceries. Local extra virgin olive oil 7-8 dinars. Alcohol - only 1 state store on Djerba. On the tour, we bought local vodka (BUHA) 6 dinars 0.5 liters there. The dinar/dollar exchange rate, sorry, I already forgot. Dinars cannot be imported into or exported from Tunisia. There is a photo studio - the photographer takes pictures of all the vacationers during the day - noticeably and imperceptibly. I looked in the machine all the photos for the day, I found myself. I liked it - I bought it. If you send a postcard or a letter, a stamp will be stuck directly at the reception. There's a mailbox there.
In addition to the mentioned fatty from the bar, I consider the complete absence of any texts in Russian in the information corner of the hotel (to the left of the reception) as a minus. This definitely needs to be fixed.
