We decided to open the summer season with a visit to Tunisia - the first miss! The choice fell on the President Hotel for one simple reason: it was attracted by the low price. In the sales advertisement, the hotel was listed as 4 *, while in the search engine it opened only as 3 *, but we are adults - we thought that this was not so important for us, but in vain. So, on May 30, we flew to Tunisia to spend the next 11 days there. Night arrival and by 3 nights at the hotel, the group of tourists who arrived at the hotel from Perm was not small, the guide on the transfer frankly said that if you want to check in without waiting for the check-out time, you need to pay. Some tourists paid $40 each and got rooms in the main hotel building. We decided to see how further events will develop. At the same time, they were in no hurry to pick up the completed questionnaires and put on bracelets, saying that everything was after 9 in the morning! But since I really wanted to eat, and breakfast from 7 o'clock.
, then I didn’t wait for the notorious 9 o’clock and asked for bracelets, after that, by 6 o’clock, we were opened a restaurant and invited to breakfast. Despite the availability of rooms in the bungalow (I'm sure that they were also in the main building), the rest of the tourists began to settle only after 11 o'clock, moreover, we were all provided with rooms in the bungalow. Frankly, my request for a room on the 2nd floor with one large bed was granted. We got room 807 - these are practically the last bungalows to the concrete fence. In total, the hotel has about 250 rooms located in bungalows - a whole village!
The room is large, there is a double bed in the middle, a single bed is built in the corner near the balcony, there is dimmed lighting in the form of wall sconces near the mirror and beds, a spacious bathroom, a good balcony, finishing in Arabic style: white walls and a high ceiling with a vault, the decoration fits in rather unusually for us walls, dressing table and bedside tables with tiles, giving an oriental touch. In short, the room satisfied us, not counting 2 minor flaws: one lamp in the wall lamp did not burn and the front door lock dangled! At the reception, they wrote down our comments in a notebook and promised to fulfill or replace the number for tomorrow! ? At the same time, even 2 hotel employees came to see for themselves in our claims. “Tomorrow” smoothly turned into “the day after tomorrow”, while they refused to replace the number (although the exact same number was free from us all these 3 days behind the wall! ).

On the third day, the lock was fixed, and by this time, the husband himself unscrewed the light bulb from the sconce over the 1-bedroom and screwed it into the sconce by our bed. Let me remind you once again, for those who did not find an answer in the description of the hotel, that only a small piece of soap is not replenished upon arrival, there is no shampoo, no minibar, no hair dryer in the room! There is one socket in the bathroom for 220 with grounding. You can also turn off the TV and use the socket in the room to charge. Remote controls for TV and air conditioning, beach towels are given on bail. This service was not used. The weather was not hot, the room was easily ventilated by opening the balcony door. There is only one program on TV in Russian, it makes no sense to press the “lazy” buttons. Beach towels, shampoo and hair dryer I prefer my own. Safe in the room code, the cost of 2 dinars per day.
Pluses of living in a bungalow: a large area of the room, no dust from the carpet (floor tiles near the bed on both sides of the bedside rugs), silence, birds sing sweetly in the morning (this is not Southeast Asia for you - where the birds yell), animation noise is not heard! The view from the window - everything is buried in greenery and flowers! A fig tree and an olive tree grew in front of our balcony. Minus - leave the products, ants may appear. The plumbing in our room worked properly, there were no smells in the bungalow area.
The hotel area is quite large, green, well thought out, 2 swimming pools and children's compartments. The smallest children splash in the pool near the bungalow, in the one where the gazebo is, there are different depths around the gazebo, starting from almost 0 to 2 m. The pools have very uncomfortable sunbeds - material is stretched on the base, something of a mosquito net, there are no mattresses. On the territory there is a mini golf course, sports grounds for volleyball, tennis, etc.
At the reception there is an American billiards table and slot machines - for a fee.
Animation is presented by a large group of guys. During the day there are dances and darts. In the evening there is a disco for kids, then every day bingo - loto, then a show of thin amateur performances, nothing new! On Saturdays, the fakir show is interesting! After 24-00 there is a disco in the main building, a good part of the main building can hear the noise from it, because with us 2 girls asked to change their room to a bungalow.
The dining room is something!

Breakfast is monotonous to disgrace: cereals, chopped cabbage, carrots, lettuce, olives or black olives (sometimes both), 2-3 types of jam, butter-margarine, sour-milk product, for me it looks more like kefir than yogurt, they can put sliced boiled sausage (edible), from the "hot" for breakfast: buns, croissants, half-baked rice filled with milk (if you can find a spoon), scrambled eggs without additives, finely chopped sausages - as a rule, all this is cold. From drinks for breakfast: tea, coffee in a thermos, hot milk, you can brew cocoa yourself (cocoa powder has always been) or instant coffee, UPI drinks. At the same time, the cups are at the opposite end of the hall from thermoses.
Lunch and dinner are quite decent, there is always a choice of hot dishes, meat is cooked deliciously - lamb and beef. There is always chicken and fish. But the trouble with cucumbers and tomatoes is that they are constantly in short supply!
Greens in the hotel do not give at all, for the entire period, just chopped onions were put up only twice. They don’t indulge in fruits either: they gave watermelons, wooden peaches, oranges - everything was handed out! Sweets are served for lunch and dinner of 3-4 types, while the restaurant does not have hot drinks, but there is a cake with cola or wine somehow not ice! I liked the mousses, however, I had to eat them with a plate and a fork! Until June 3, you could bring coffee or tea from the lobby bar, then they made it paid, but you didn’t want to run for tea to the pool in order to swallow a cake! There is no need to talk about bowls in a restaurant where cups are only served for breakfast and there are no teaspoons (only coffee ones). I hope that the review will reach the hotel management.
I was very surprised how plates and cutlery are displayed: there are very few plates next to cold appetizers, people are rushing to distribute hot dishes, then many are looking for spoons for soup (they are generally a disaster), there are no plates near sweets and fruits at all. For lunch and dinner, cutlery is laid out on the tables, but they are only enough for the first batch of guests. There are no napkins on the tables, you need to take them yourself from the table where the cups were in the morning. The cooks serve quickly, but not kindly, they greet you through gritted teeth, no matter what language you speak, I have never seen a smile, although I myself am a smiling person (on Bonjo quiet Salutur, on Salam - salam, on Hello -hello, on our good morning - they do not hear you). Most bartenders will understand you in Russian, it's nice, but "four" beers in one hand are not given, but "arba" - please!

Waiters and cleaners always say hello, banal greetings in Russian are well known, they will gladly answer your English or French questions.
Drinking water in 1.5 liter bottles in any bar without restrictions.
The beach is municipal, it has a dedicated section of the hotel, where there are umbrellas and sunbeds rickety from time to time, mattresses are somewhat smaller than sunbeds, you need to bring them yourself, it is not always enough. The beach chairs are plastic. Along the entire coast, at the entrance to the sea, you can find construction debris (pieces of brick and ceramic tiles turned by water). On the beach there is a barn with mattresses, it also has a soda cooler. Beach bar - self service - while pouring drinks you need to be careful, because there are WASPs! The job of a beach fight is to open a barn and collect mattresses. There is a shower on the beach where you can wash off the sea water, but there is no foot wash (it is only on the territory of the hotel opposite the security booth).
Walk to the beach from the gate of the hotel just a minute.
I remind you: the water park has nothing to do with the hotel, now the name of the hotel does not contain this word! open from June 1 - entrance is paid, they prepared it for opening exactly one day - they let water through and pulled out weeds - something discouraged any desire to experience the slides for yourself. I heard that the issue of the possibility of visiting it for hotel guests for an unlimited number of times for 35 dinars was being resolved - the result is not known to me.
The service is extremely unobtrusive, cleaning was reduced to making the bed and garbage collection, towels are changed daily, provided that towels are on the floor. Once, I decided not to change 4 towels, so they lifted the fifth damp foot from the floor and hung it on the bathroom - to dry! Tipping does not affect the quality of cleaning - checked.
Earlier I wrote about the deposit, it is advisable to get it back in advance in order to have time to spend dinars, their export from the country is prohibited, dinars are not accepted in duty free.

We flew with Pegasus, there are no complaints about the tour operator, the guides both on the transfer, and at the hotel and on excursions (we went to Carthage - Tunisia) work perfectly. But there is a question for Pegasus: when will the prices for excursions be cheaper, at least at the level of other tour operators?!
Those wishing to visit thalasso - contact the guide. I don’t write about excursions and thalasso, shopping, but I can answer questions.
The end of May - the beginning of June is a good time to travel around the country, but it's too early for a beach holiday - the sea is cold!
