The hotel is solid 3 * nothing more. The hotel is old: 05/11/2012. he was 10 years old, and it seems that nothing has been updated there during this time.
I'll start with the check-in: we arrived at night, but there was no place, they promised to give a room after 12-13 hours of the next day. Only after paying $ 80 (the amount was agreed on at the reception - tax) they gave a room (and we were not alone). The room is not bad on the 0 floor (according to our 3, on the same floor with the reception) with a balcony on the golf course and the sea. The furniture is all old (like 10 years old), everything creaks and falls apart, the TV is old, in my opinion a tube one, shows one Russian channel-1. Plumbing is ancient.
The condo is common and works very interestingly, and it's not only in the room, but in the whole hotel - it just blows without cooling. This is especially noticeable at night more than once woke up from stuffiness. From the balcony there is no sense, because. very humid climate and even at night, as in a steam room, it is better not to dry anything on the balcony - it will be even more humid. Only in the morning from 3-4 hours on the street fresh air.
On the beach (the beach is very narrow from the edge of the sea to the end of the sandy beach of steps (women's) 30) the sunbeds from the net are all pressed through, they don't give mattresses, they stand right next to each other. On the beach, the sand is the smallest, like flour, and everyone who passes by you will definitely rub the sand.
We were located on the grass (soft cover, rolled lawn) under umbrellas near the sports ground (50 steps to the sea). There are plastic sunbeds with mattresses, like by the pool, but the seats had to be taken until 6-00. Yes, by the way, about the sports ground - the entire protective fence around the football field is equal to shreds and more than once the football ball flew into the head or back of the vacationers instead of the gate. The pleasure is above average and we tried from 16-30 when we started playing football to run away. Towels are given on bail 10 dinars for one (the money will be returned before departure), you can change for fresh as many times as you like.
In the evening, access to the sea was locked. The territory of the hotel is tiny, the width of the area for recreation (umbrellas with sunbeds, swimming pool, bars) is about 120-150 meters, and there are a lot of people there, in addition to "native" guests, there is also overexposure from other hotels. Everyone is literally sitting on top of each other. We were told about a huge territory, yes it exists, but it is fenced on all sides with a fence and thorny bushes - there are golf courses and you will get there only if you play golf. But this game is not in great demand (my balcony just overlooked this field), very rarely or early in the morning or in the evening 2-3 people go there.
The food is just disgusting. Cooked in some terrible oil, smelly. Grill - especially meat and fish half-baked and burnt. I am not a pretentious person in nutrition, I can eat everything, but the kitchen of this hotel is just a nightmare (it’s good that I had pills with me). Stomach suffering, everyone with whom they communicated (diarrhea, heartburn and bloating). The hotel is not ready to receive such a large number of people: there is a queue for food (dinner in two shifts - I didn’t have time until 19-30, wait 30 minutes), they don’t clean the tables (crumbs and leftover food), they also served themselves and took knives and forks and glasses, napkins are in short supply, there are no toothpicks, flies literally fly into your mouth. Fruits have always been: melon, grapes, oranges, peaches and nectarines. Baking is all for one taste (except for breakfast - everything is there without cream, such as muffins and puffs - very tasty) and everywhere, even in the cream, there is a taste of this fat. The staff (I was shocked more than once) take food (there was stew) from common trays with their hands (they tear off better pieces) and take it into their mouths...
Animation in French and partly in German. The guys are not bad, they try.
Thalassotherapy at extortionate prices (in a neighboring hotel is half the price) and the quality leaves much to be desired. We, as Ultra, are supposed to visit once a gym, a hammam and two restaurants (Italian and Tunisian cuisine). Hamam, after the Turkish hamam, is the earth and the sky, here is just a steam room. For 25 dinars (1 dinar about 22 rubles) in the hammam, we also ordered a peeling. I managed to escape, but my girlfriends suffered: they did this procedure dry, they beat me to bruises.
The menu of the Italian and Tunisian restaurants is the same as in the general restaurant, just a different room and only Tunisia or Italy are served in portions. At a Tunisian dinner, a familiar lady was very (to the point of chills) poisoned herself (they sin on unfiltered beer), with all the ensuing consequences.
Everywhere in the hotel they extort loot: the maid must be 1 dinar, otherwise you won’t have soap (shampoo, shower gel), the driver must go on an excursion (for a fee) 2-3 dinars from each, it’s necessary to leave dinars in the restaurant, then you will be served table.
The only plus and balm for the wounds from our holiday is of course the SEA. It's super soft, like velvet, and the color is amazing, emerald blue and sparkling.
From local souvenirs, we bought sheets (like our horse bedspreads) of different density and size, local leather bags, aromatic oils (for an amateur), olive oil, oriental sweets, shampoo and masks with tfal clay.
The rest left a very unpleasant aftertaste. I think I will not go to Tunisia in the near future
Bars are something!! ! Serve slowly, there are no juices to replace UPI, you can drink cola, sprite, fanta and very low quality alcohol!
The main restaurant is dirty, there are a lot of flies, long queues and everything ends quickly. Such a race for food quickly gets boring. Tables are served at the beginning of the meal, after 20-30 minutes you will not find a clean table and a free waiter, only on your own we found clean cutlery and glasses! ! ! The dishes are dirty !!! ! The food is monotonous, there is almost no seafood, although it’s very strange because the sea is nearby !!! ! . There are no gas drinks at breakfast in the morning. The hotel has a Tunisian and Italian restaurant - everyone has one chef, so we were shocked by the dishes and their serving!! ! We were left hungry! The children have nothing to eat at all!
The beach is not cleaned, you can see a lot of cigarette butts and seeds from fruits. The sun loungers are old, they came across torn and almost all squashed, it’s very uncomfortable to lie! they wash it and the next day they pour us water again! The sea is very warm, clear water fish swim on the bottom, but sometimes household garbage floats, we assume that it is thrown out of a sightseeing ship that constantly floats along the coast!
Guide-professional sales of excursions!! ! Do not forget that it is very hot!! ! We went to the Zoo. We thought that we would die from the heat, we poured ourselves with drinking water.
The staff does not like those who speak Russian, if you want to be looked after, 2-3 $ will help!
And forget about the Russian speech, you won’t hear it from the staff, they won’t try for you. You will watch the evening animation show in Italian, German, English, French.
Of course, we are not happy with our vacation!
Trust the reviews!! !
The sea is amazing, but shallow: at the buoys up to the neck, behind the buoys there are boats and scooters, etc. The beach is thick (like herrings). At times I felt like a heroine of the film "Be my husband" (the one with A. Mironov in the title role). Mesh loungers without mattresses (not comfortable). The local population wanders along the beach, offering various belongings (washcloths, dresses, shells, etc. , etc. ), they are trying to drive them, but not always successfully.
The restaurant, essentially a dining room, is large with a meager selection of food and constant queues. Until my holiday in Tunisia, I had no idea that I was a big fan of pizza (one of the few that was delicious).
Were with children 9.12 years old - they did not always find what to eat for them.
Large selection of fruits: watermelons, melons, peaches, grapes, nectarines, plums, oranges. Everything is fresh and tasty.
The service is terrible: the fallen spoons were put back on the buffet, the beer could be topped up from the tray, the cocktail was poured, the ice did not fit, and to add ice, the bartender drank too much. . .
Contingent: noisy Arabs with children, emotionally noisy Italians and French, Russians, Germans, as well as a few representatives of other countries.
For myself, I concluded that we put a bullet point in Tunisia.
We occupied sun loungers near the pool, here they are with mattresses, because the sun loungers on the beach are made of stretched mesh and it is impossible to lie on them. The beach itself and the sea is nice white fine sand.
Tunisia is worth a visit for a 2-day excursion to the Sahara - do not regret 2 days, it's worth it - 90% of my memories. You can safely listen to everything that the guide recommends, it will really be cheaper and more profitable. I also want to thank the guide Irina, all her tips were very useful, listen to them carefully on the first day.
A taxi to the city of Mahdia costs 3 dinars per car.
I recommend buying in Tunisia: clay-based shampoo, natural olive soap (similar to household) jeans.
