Hello. I always appreciate reviews. Help. And I also write.

Visited Tunisia for the first time. Before that, I have been traveling around the world for 20 years.
Vacationing with my daughter.
For 10 days / 9 nights tour with departure from St. Petersburg.
We flew with Azur on a Boeing, in which there are 2 + 4 + 2 seats in a row. 4 hours in a hell of a plane, where a table opens only if you are no larger than 48 sizes and 160 cm tall. The rest is simply impossible. For the first time, it was simply impossible to somehow change the situation ...We calmed down. Forgot..

Before customs, fill out immigration cards in English (make sure that the card consists of two parts. 1 is taken at the control there, 1 back). Tunisians are in no hurry.

The road from the airport took 15 minutes. In my practice, this is a record.

In fact, the hotel is not in the city, but in a suburban tourist area. Unlike Turkey, for example, there is simply nowhere to leave the hotel. At best, wastelands and salt lakes (read puddles). At worst, they're just landfills.
This is a minus. The advantage is that the territory is well and preferably guarded and no one will enter the hotel without bracelets. Security also helps to scare arrogant taxi drivers who practice adding a few dinars to the bill at the end and menacingly demand a new amount.
Taxi info:
1) agree on the cost of the trip upon boarding and pay immediately. Save money and nerves. Although I only got one once. The rest of the taxi drivers were very friendly. 2) the normal price from the hotel to the center of Monastir is 5 - 6 dinars.
3) if more than 2 people get into a taxi, then the cost immediately increases to 7-8 dinars per car.
4) the cars in the taxi depot are old, dirty and dusty. Normal we did not come across, even if you call through the reception.

Let's go back to the hotel.
Pros:
The room has everything you need except hair balm. You need to bring your own or buy a local one.
There is a supermarket on site.
Prices are too high, but you can even lower the remaining dinar (money cannot be taken out of the country).
Nice and clean outdoor pool.
Enough sunbeds for everyone
Beach towels
Very good food. Very tasty and varied. The assortment includes fish, beef, offal, chicken, lamb, turkey, squid, crabs, fresh and varied vegetables, a lot of fruits: already in May, watermelons, melons, peaches, plums, apricots, oranges . . Pasta will always be made with you, pizza, etc. For lunch and dinner, there is ice cream. The grill is sometimes open for dinner on the terrace.
The breakfasts are big. Hearty (potatoes, vegetables, baked or stewed sausages, all kinds of cuts, fresh vegetables), all kinds of eggs, donuts, pancakes, pastries, all sorts of muesli and cereal, etc.
Alcohol in the hotel is only local. Besides the wine is good. New cocktails every day. Firm Neroli and Mojito are especially successful for boys.

About the staff:
Basically just great.
They clean well, a lot of security, technicians, gardeners, waiters . . All issues are resolved very quickly.

The special value of the hotel - animators. Young international team. Very attentive to guests of all ages. I don't like stupid games and contests. I can't say anything about the program from this area. . I liked the sports component: beach volleyball by the sea. And in the hotel - water polo, aqua aerobics, yoga, step, darts, every day they learn a new dance like zumba or cha-cha-cha ..
Everyone who wants to sign up and everyone gets to know each other very quickly and make friends. Generally a very friendly atmosphere in the hotel.
I still don’t understand how waiters remember guests. But any phrase
or a joke and when they meet you again they will remind you . . Keep in mind. Maintain good relations with waiters and bartenders and then the restrictions on the number of glasses in one hand will not apply to you ..
But there is one minus and I must warn you: my daughter was deceived when exchanging currency at the reception. They missed exactly half. I noticed within half an hour and the money was returned. After talking with other guests of the hotel, it turned out that this was not a one-time incident. Always a tall curly employee. I don't know the name. Be carefull.
And 1 more unpleasant moment. Upon arrival, the Anex tour guide distributed the price list for the tour. After 5 days, I went to buy a trip on a yacht and he already used a form with other prices, 5 dinars more expensive. Not great money, but unpleasant.
In general, you need to bargain with Tunisians, lower the price by 2-3 times and pay immediately. Then the agreements don't work.
You can only get to the nearest sights on your own, and so, except for the guide, you can’t buy excursions anywhere.
Souvenirs:
I fly with an empty suitcase, I return with a full one. Always)
From Tunisia it makes sense to bring:
Olive oil. Excellent and cheap.
Buy virgin oil, acidity is not more than 0.8%.
Square dry deodorant. It smells strongly, but there are different flavors. I took it for souvenirs. It turned out to be a great thing. From the smell of sweat from the feet, it also helps a lot as the aromatization of the shoe cabinet too.
Dates. Incredibly fresh and delicious.
Cheese in the range is cheap and tasty.
Nutella type chocolate hazelnut spread, but local. The taste is the same, the price is great.
Spices, especially saffron.

Care products for hair, face and body with clay, on the labels the clay is designated "tfal". Shampoo fly away.
Ignore the dumb labels on Tunisian cosmetics. The country is 15 years behind in advertising and promotion, but the quality is excellent!
Leather products are cheap, but smell of camel meat, rough dressing and bright colors. If it suits your style, then ok.
Perfume.
Local ceramics, chasing, desert rose.
Camel wool bedspreads.
The rest can be bought anywhere.
And in the above, there is a clear national flavor.

Tours:
We ourselves went to Sousse, there is nothing to do there at all. The Monastir Center is very painterly and is concentrated within walking distance. It's great to walk there for half a day.
In both cities from the hotel there is a 52 bus for 1 dinar per person, or a taxi 6 dinars per car for 1-2 people and a couple of dinars more for the company. Comfortable and of course faster than the bus.
We went to the zoo. To the Sousse bus station by taxi from there by minibus. Excursions are 2.5 times cheaper. Cute and can feed almost everyone from giraffe to kangaroo.
We wanted to, but did not go to the Sahara, so the bus of the group from our arrival was taken hostage. They held me for 3 hours, but they let me go. Some demon spending is not radical, thank God. After this incident, we did not take risks.
The only excursion we bought was a yacht trip. The yacht was pirated, the animation team was wonderful, and there was a fakir and a yoga show . . Dancing. Funny.
For drinks, only water is included. Food salad, roll, fried small fish, well, you don’t go there for food. Nice to walk around and take pictures.
The last tip is to protect your skin generously for the first days and do not burn for more than 15 minutes. In the shade, too, a tan catches up! Some under the tent burned to blisters. Take care of your skin. Africa)

Have a nice holiday!
