We rested in Tunisia for the first time (there used to be Turkey, Egypt) The rest was a success - 11 days were not enough and I didn’t want to fly to autumn Russia! and Monastir. The planes did not interfere at all, even though our windows did not look out to the sea, but to the road and the airport. The hotel is well fed - a lot of meat, vegetables. cheeses, ice cream, fruits, wine - pink, red, white - from bottles - poured by waiters during lunch and dinner. Dinners 3 times a week themed - evenings of Tunisian, Italian cuisine with disguised waiters and the appropriate design of the dining room and music. We ate 3 kg, although we tried not to overeat, but everything is so delicious! The sea is shallow, clean, very hot at lunchtime and cool in the morning - affectionate, in a word. But before the storm, jellyfish sailed, which sting very strongly - like nettles - it is necessary to apply acid to the burn site - tomato (or vinegar, but where can I get it? ) The beach is cleaned every day and plowed with a horse - so that the sand does not compact - it is very white small! We went swimming behind the buoys and swam there with a mask - a lot of fish and squid and all sorts of unknown living creatures - interesting to watch! After the storm, the sea became very dirty - we swam in the pool (there is sea water in the children's pool too). We went on excursions with Pegasus to the capital - the city of Tunis and its environs - Sidi Bou Said and Carthage and on an excursion to the Phrygia safari park with a wonderful dinner and the Zulu show - both excursions are very interesting - I recommend visiting, they take all day - until dark! Taxi inexpensive - we went to Sousse and Monastir ourselves to the bazaars in the old city (medina) - we bought leather bags and wallets, very tasty olive oil, tahini halva - in supermarkets for locals. money was changed at a bank in Monastir or at a hotel at the reception (the exchange rate is lower there) The money they use is the Tunisian dinar, but they take any currency at the bazaar. you can smoke everywhere, including Monastir airport, but you can’t drink - dry law in the country - they dilute the booze in the hotel, and there is no choice in local stores and everything is very expensive - take it with you or in duty free. The rest was a success, but the Sahara and the coliseum in El Jem are not yet covered - you have to go again!
