The Primasol Golden Beach Hotel in Skanes, Tunisia advertises itself as a 4 star hotel. In fact, he hardly pulls on 3 stars. We (a family of 3) spent 2 weeks there in August 2009. For 14 days, the central air conditioner broke down 3 times (it was repaired every time for half a day) - this despite the fact that the air temperature was 36-38C. At the reception the staff is polite, but rude in the bars. Constant begging for tips. The arrogance of some waiters comes to the point that they ask you to take them a beer and bring it to a secluded place (the staff is forbidden to drink drinks for guests) - do not do this, then they will not be left behind. All Inclusive - you get free three meals a day - about it separately - and local soft drinks and beer are also free - you will have to pay for imported alcohol at "commercial" rates. Sun beds are free - but for beach towels and mattresses you need to pay 2 dinars (1.2 Euro) per day. Nimble Germans and French who were 3/4 in this hotel get up at 6-7 in the morning and occupy all the sunbeds. Having come to the beach or to the pool at 8 am, it is already impossible to find free sunbeds. Moreover, those who "reserved" a sunbed - putting on it, let's say your towel, may appear there at 10 o'clock or even after dinner.
The sea is very warm but shallow, ideal for children under 6 years old. The depth begins only after the buoys, but everything is overgrown with vile algae - walking and swimming is unpleasant.
Sometimes there is an invasion of burning jellyfish - in 14 days - 2 times for 2 days. If it burns you, ask for a special ointment at the reception. The sea as a whole is dirty and bathing is better before dinner - the water is cool and clean - in the afternoon the water is VERY warm and cloudy. The pools are clean, but a lot of people swim in them, sometimes, bypassing the guards across the beach, local children wander in, who can steal small things like glasses, bags, etc. plus they arrange a crazy house in the pool, ignoring everyone else. In this case, call the guards, he will catch them all and put them out.

Nutrition. Fruits, vegetables and salads are plentiful and always fresh. Buns, cakes, croissants, cakes - a huge selection - very tasty. But they don’t know how to cook meat and fish - somewhere around 7-10 days there is a persistent aversion to local food - and not only here, almost everyone I talked to experienced this - which of course helps to improve the figure, but then the money is paid !!
Most importantly, ask! If you don't like the number, ask for another, third, fourth. The very first room that you will be offered will most likely be overlooking the kitchen, with a clogged sewer and a broken balcony door. ALWAYS rent a safe - 2 dinars a day, keep money, tickets and passports there. For maids who clean the room, I recommend leaving 1-1.5 dinars a tip per day - then they will clean it well. Otherwise, they may “forget” about your number a couple of times.
If after all of the above you decide to go - good luck to you! and enjoy your holiday. . .
