We stayed at the end of July/beginning of August 2010. The hotel was chosen based on reviews. Thanks to everyone who wrote them, it helped us a lot. We are glad that we made the right choice.
The hotel is conveniently located, 30-40 minutes drive from the airport (with a stop at other hotels), 15-20 minutes from the center of Sousse.
The hotel is suitable for a relaxing family holiday, better for couples who come without children. It will be boring for teenagers (there are no noisy party discos, and after midnight everything calms down), and for small children, entertainment is mostly only natural - the sea, sand. There is a children's pool on site, and the hotel has a small games room. Animators play with children on the beach and by the pool. True, a 10-minute walk is Port El Kantaoui with a large amusement park, souvenir shops, a botanical garden, a singing fountain, cafes, etc. Here there is expanse for children.

The hotel itself is quite large, the rooms are not new (furniture, plumbing), but everything is not dilapidated and everything works. If it doesn't work, they fix it quickly. Wonderful attentive staff, always ready to help. The only thing is without knowledge of the Russian language (they know a few words, but they are happy to learn from Russian tourists, they are 15-20% in the hotel, and most of all the French). French, German, English no problem. The exchange rate is the same for the whole country, so it is most convenient to change money at the reception. Only one-way exchange currency for dinars, do not change back.
Be careful with sea view rooms. Most likely, it will be lateral, and the sea will hardly be visible there. You can change, but do not rush - the rooms with a wonderful direct sea view are smaller, older and located closer to the central part of the hotel in the 1st building - in the evenings it can be noisy there due to evening shows. But the rooms on the 1st floor should be changed to the 2nd or 3rd floor, feel free to ask about it immediately upon arrival at the reception. They will replace it without any extortion.
The rooms are cleaned and towels are changed every day, upon arrival they put a piece of disposable soap, there are no gels and shampoos. If you tip, they can put a new bedspread on the bed and fold it nicely. But even without a tip, everything is done normally. The room has a shower, hairdryer, bath, TV with 1 channel in Russian, safe.
The food is plentiful, except for milk porridge, there seems to be everything - fresh juices, meat of various types, fish, fruits, vegetables, salads, soups, pizza, side dishes, desserts, wine, beer, water, carbonated drinks, etc. And everything hot is fresh, cooked in front of you on the grill. Dirty dishes are cleaned immediately. They put up child seats. They are fed from morning to evening - breakfast with fragrant dates and croissants, second breakfast, lunch, pancakes for afternoon tea, dinner. There is a Tunisian restaurant Shahrazad. It works 3 days a week, you can dine there once during your stay, but you need to book a table 3-5 days in advance. Alcoholic drinks in assortment at the bar at the reception and by the pool. But alcohol is almost not poured into cocktails at the pool bar, it is better to take them at the bar at the reception, and then go out into the air.
The territory is well-groomed, green, palm trees, lawns, bushes with flowers. Everything is organized according to the mind - there is where to swim, sunbathe, take a walk, eat, dance, sit and chat.

The beach is sandy, the entry into the sea too, the sand is white, the water is warm, only when the wind rises, it becomes a little cool, there are strong waves. There are almost no jellyfish, there are algae, they grow at the bottom, swim in the water, they are carried to the beach. They are cleaned, but not really, so sometimes it feels like it's dirty on the beach and in the water. Plus, garbage from a person’s stay is washed ashore, especially with strong surf. Towels are issued at the reception, mattresses are worn by a worker every morning. You can give a tip, then he will bring a slightly newer mattress and lay out a towel for you. It is better to take places on the beach before breakfast, at 7-8 in the morning. After breakfast, they can put additional sunbeds and mattresses for you, but there may not be enough space under the umbrella.
From the animation there is aqua aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball, darts, gymnastics, boccia. There is a team of tanned black Tunisians working - the guys are funny, they light up all day, however, mostly by the pool. In the evenings, amateur shows, dances, karaoke are organized, sometimes professional actors are invited. On the beach you can ride a parachute, scooter, banana boat, catamaran, etc.
The hotel has a private spa. You can “for show” do a one-time peeling and algae wrap there, but if you need high-quality thalasso therapy, this is not the hotel.
For souvenirs, it is better to go to the center of Sousse, in the so-called. medina, there are clothing and fruit markets. There is a state souvenir shop Sula there, but prices are higher there, and in the medina you can bargain - the price is dropped 3-5 times. From souvenirs you can buy ceramic dishes, embroidered fabric bags, camel leather, olive tree, dates, Tibarin date liqueur, Buha fig moonshine, olive oil, Magon wine, nutmeg wine, cactus fruits, bracelets with your name in Arabic, drums, hookah, African masks, etc. Who doesn’t want to go to the medina, you can buy all this in Port El Kantaoui, maybe a little more expensive, since prices are fixed in many stores. By the way, there is also a good brewery and an ice cream house nearby. Alcohol is sold in the General store, it is also in Porto, on the right, if you stand facing the tower - the entrance to the harbor. Of the modes of transport, it is more convenient to take yellow taxis, there is a counter, but you can also bargain. In order not to “get tired” of annoying merchants, you should not accept any offers from them and enter into long conversations if you are not going to bargain and buy something specific. But it's also not worth putting on a mask of gloom. Rush is calculated immediately.

Of the excursions, I liked the 2-day excursion to the Sahara (just don’t buy dates in boxes and zero-pressed oil there) and a laser show about the history of Tunisia. Both provide an opportunity to learn about the history of the country and understand how Tunisia lives today. For children there is an excursion to the zoo with a folklore show after. More shopping excursion - Tunis-Carthage.
The heat is well tolerated, during our stay it was 32-34 degrees, on the coast the wind saves from the heat, and in the Sahara the air is dry, it is easy to breathe.
In general, the impressions of the holiday are good, a quality hotel, a good beach holiday, plus interesting excursions with a touch of African-Arab exoticism and, of course, a lot of souvenirs bought as a keepsake. The main thing is to take with you a good mood and a positive attitude to rest.
