Tunisia, Sousse, hotel Marabout Aquapark 3*

Rested with a 12-year-old son from May 30 to June 08.2013. Granda All Inclusive Tour
I must say right away that I love to travel and have visited many countries. First time in Tunisia. I was very worried, because the hotel is 3 *. I read a lot of reviews before going. Thanks everyone. The information provided was helpful.
We flew from Domodedovo and Enfidu - there by Transaero, back by the Tunisian airline Nouvelair. We were lucky with the flight: there were no delays, the service on board of both companies was normal. Tunisian stewards put all the water in a place accessible to passengers, so some Russian specimens drank soda the whole flight))) The airport in Enfid is modern and cool. Grandovtsy met, brought to the hotel. The hotel guide Natalya was amazed - she filled out hotel cards for everyone in advance, so check-in went quickly at 00.30 local time, and 20 bucks invested in passports accelerated this event.

We were immediately given a normal room in the old building on the 5th floor - we only spent the night there. The furnishings are modest in Spartan style, but everything is in working order, without cracks, songs, dirt, stains, clean.
The rooms do not have a hair dryer (brought it with them), an iron (they didn’t wrinkle! ), a TV remote control (a deposit of 10 dinars, because the Poles steal remotes, but there is only one Russian channel, so we didn’t need a remote control), a refrigerator (food in the Tunisian canteen they give so much and 4 times a day - there is an afternoon snack, that for the first time in my entire trips to countries and continents, I never once had a desire to grab something edible). They cleaned it for 1 dinar (left it on the table) normally (I didn’t go with a check from Rospotrebnadzor, so I didn’t pay attention to the little things), even the bows on the beds were made from my shawl (I saw it for the first time - I was stunned by their resourcefulness).
My son accidentally broke the seat on the toilet (later I found out that many had such embarrassment, because the seats were not attached correctly and were of Chinese quality, cheap). I thought that I got on the money, because in Egypt they would have torn me off for a new toilet. I told the guide Natalya, she went to the reception and they quickly replaced the breakdown. FOR FREE. There are no problems with drinking water either: no one notes or writes anything down. You approach the reception, speak Russian "WATER" and they give you a 1.5 liter bottle. Beach towels brought their own, you can buy in the store at the hotel - the price is slightly higher than in stores in the city.
Many were killed by the modest appearance of the Tunisian canteen. But the chef is good and the food is delicious. The waiters are friendly without any extra charge. We went to the beginning of all the feasts, so we always had enough food, tables, cutlery, plates. In the bar, all alcohol is diluted from the heart! They took Absolut in the deutik, and wine in the Generale - there was something to do.

We were not very lucky with the weather: the sea was stormy all the time, a cold wind was blowing from the sea (in the evening we sat in jackets or blankets from the room at the animation), it tried to rain for a couple of days. I concluded that you need to go to Tunisia after June 15, when they start the season. At the same time, Tunisian airlines begin to make regular flights and the departure time is not transferred to early dates (our acquaintances from St. Petersburg flew 15 hours earlier! )
The contingent of the hotel is from 0 to 80 years. Russia, Germany, Ukraine, , Kazakhstan, Denmark, Holland, Romania and local teenagers from Friday to Sunday, well, a lot. The water park is awesome! the son said that he would no longer go anywhere except Tunisia. Very powerful energy around the pools (I don't know how to swim, so I always have a pool! ). The people are hanging out. Move!
The animation is weak, but the guys are trying very hard (there is not enough material base and resources). Cheerful discos, competitions do not wait!
After June 15, a disco in the open air of Bora Bora opens, they say it's fun there. Opposite the hotel is a disco Samara - do not go, the usual sharashka!
We walked around the city. The very littered, persistent smell of urine near street cafes kills! The people are friendly, many understand Russian (although I know English and specially learned French), they show the way. Products buy only in the state Generale! Friends bought a set of 8 spices in a mini-market next to the hotel: all the spices are mixed with sand. In Russia, they began to add to food: the sand crunches on the teeth!
In the Generale they took wine (dry, tasty), harissa in tubes (my husband appreciated it - it’s delicious with lard! ), cactus jam (similar to our pear jam - sweet and the same viscosity), very tasty black ground pepper, olive msalo Rasputin (cheaper than on excursions to the Sahara). During an excursion to the Sahara (very cool! and Ahmed is just a darling!
) in no case do not buy dates: they are with live worms inside! )
On the way to the big Generale (the guide Natalya will give you a map of the city) there is a small coffee shop. The seller speaks Russian. They took medium roast coffee, they ground it in front of us. tasty! And the smell! ! ! From the General to the Hotel - by taxi 3 dinars.

WiFi in the hotel lobby is weak and free. Skyped with Russia. It is very profitable to buy a local SIM card from the guide Natalya and chat from the heart. You can withdraw money from the card at a nearby hotel (ask your guide).
The transfer from the hotel to the airport was at the highest level: the grand guide Yulia not only took us to the airport, but also specified the number of the check-in counter and was present until we all checked in (helped with the translation).
In a word, the holiday was a success! You can return to this hotel! I tried to be objective when describing my vacation.
Many thanks to the hotel guide Natalia (she is smart), Yulia (transfer) and Ahmed (excursion to the Sahara).
