Rested in Antalya in July 2009. Impressions of Laguna are as follows. The hotel, of course, is not at all for passive recreation. To Konyalti beach on foot about 25 minutes. medium step, to the old town - 15 min. in the opposite direction. That is, those hotels that are closer to the center are even further from the beach, so this can be said to be the golden mean. Although for many tourists, of course, the proximity of the beach is more important than the location in the city center.
The hotel has practically no territory at all: an open area where tables are taken out for dinner in the evening, a swimming pool and a tiny garden. But the rooms are really big. I lived alone, but the room was double, two rooms and something like half a kitchen, it's a pity that there was no balcony. Cons: The air conditioning is very mediocre. It seems that this is the case in many rooms.
An aged American who lived next to me, who also suffered from the heat at night, did, by waving his American passport, get him a cooler room. In response to my modest request (without a passport : -D), the reception promised to relocate if possible, and hushed it up.
At the reception, by the way, I spoke in English, but there is also one Russian-speaking girl. In Laguna, by the way, there is free Internet, but without a Russian keyboard, of course. Which, however, does not prevent, for example, typing SMS MTS or BEELINE in Yandex and sending a free SMS to Russia (in Latin).
I liked the food in the Laguna quite well (I, however, am unassuming in this respect). Dishes, of course, are mostly vegetable, but there is always something nutritious. Breakfast is not continental at all, you will not stay hungry. However, having doubts, I asked the men there, everyone said they were full, and if anything, you can take an additive.
There are Russians in the hotel, but not many.
Some are dissatisfied. The fact that the beach is not close, then the fact that you can’t take towels from the hotel to the beach with you, then the fact that you can’t bring vodka with you and put it in the refrigerator in the room. As for the first two points - it's a pity, of course, that travel agencies do not warn about everything in advance, but you can also look for hotel reviews on the Internet before taking a ticket. And the last - so in my opinion, so almost everywhere where not all inclusive. Why, however, in the rooms then the kitchen, if you can’t bring your own products - I’ll never know. I cheated in Russian: I bought juice and cherries and left them in the refrigerator overnight, or I left and turned the sign over with the inscription “Do not disturb” so that smuggled products would not be found. And when she assumed that they would clean it up, she transferred them to her bag, which was in the room: nothing would be done with fruit in a few hours. )))
In general, Laguna is a good inexpensive hotel for those who are not going to spend all day either on the beach or in the hotel.
And a little about what is outside the hotel.
I liked Konyalti beach. There are not too many people where you go when moving from the hotel (the hotels next to the sea start next - there the population density of the beach is higher)). The water is very clean and transparent. I also swam in Kemer and in Beldibi - it’s not like that there. Small-small pebbles. I read somewhere that the beach is sandy and pebbly, but I didn’t see sand anywhere, although I swam in different places (and the beach is huge! ) By the way, I heard about Beldibi that there are big stones, but where I swam myself, there were medium pebbles . Where I found it, I don't know. )) I was surprised that there are no left-luggage offices and locker rooms are extremely rare.
I had to change clothes in a corner on the beach (fortunately, it’s comfortable in a dress : -D), but it turned out that luggage storage was not needed: it gets very deep very close to the shore, so you swim just a few meters from your things on the shore. : ))
As for the excursions...Back in Russia, I read on the Internet that it was cheaper to buy excursions in the city than from a tour operator. Maybe I'm a bad bargain, )) but at least three agencies in Antalya, the prices were no different from Pegasov's. On the tour of Demre - Mir - Kekova, it was barely possible, showing the price tag of Pegasus $ 60, to bring down the price to 57. True, for me the day was more convenient than that of Pegasus. As a result, the agency mixed up something, and I ended up not in the Russian, but in the English-speaking group, along with tourists from 8 countries of the world. I am in English. I speak fluently, so I got a lot of pleasure, which, however, I cannot say about the Russian couple, who were also mistakenly recorded in this group.
So, probably, it makes sense to travel with a tour operator, it will be more reliable. =)) True! having already returned to Russia, I again heard a couple of times that it is still cheaper in local agencies. The tour itself is worth a visit! There is a bit of everything here: the ancient church of St. Nicholas (Demre), Lycian burials and a well-preserved theater (Mira), a yacht trip to the sunken city (Kekova) and swimming from a yacht.
