From my own experience I know how hard it is to decide on a hotel choice if you have never been there, and there are a lot of reviews, and all of them are so different - from “super! ' to 'Sucks! ".

We ran into this last year when we had to choose a tour for three people - me, my husband and our five-year-old daughter. We stopped at the Mega Saray Hotel.

We were there a little less than two weeks - the end of September - the beginning of October. Let me just say that we really liked it there. Whether you like it - decide after you read my report. I will try to be objective (as far as possible, given that I was in euphoria after my arrival for several months). So…

1. Nutrition.
I’ll make a reservation right away - it was the first time in Turkey. I don’t know, of course, maybe they serve food like that everywhere there ...But when we got to the restaurant on the very first evening, we experienced a slight psychological shock.

Don't think that we have never traveled further than the near Moscow region, or that we have not been to catering places cooler than McDonald's. Not at all.

Just what we saw struck our heavenly imagination. Several types of meat dishes at once (to choose from - pilaf with meat, meat stewed in some kind of sauce, Turkish meat, various kebabs-mebabs, barbecue-mashlik, grilled meat, etc. etc. . )

There was also fish, but since we are not fans, I can’t say anything more precisely. A lot of vegetables, salads, sauces. Pickled cucumbers, small green very hot peppers, olives, olives of various types ...Desserts ...I will keep silent about this, otherwise I really wanted to eat while I was writing.

All this, of course, is very good - the first week. Then the breaking starts. You come to a restaurant, you see all this abundance, and you understand that you want, but you can’t.

My husband and I even came up with a name for this - food torture.
I forgot to say - there were a lot of fruits (apparently, the season) - watermelons, apples, grapes, peaches, plums, etc.

Wine could be poured by ourselves, as well as served by the waiters. Always unlimited bottled mineral water. Juices - I do not know, we did not take. Looks like powder. The waiters are generally friendly.

We chose a table for ourselves, and always tried to dine there, if possible. Therefore, the waiters there already knew us, and even before our arrival they put two glasses of red wine on the table.

Last year, a wonderful girl Valya from Cheboksary worked there, with whom our daughter immediately fell in love, and each time she demanded that Valya and I take a picture of her.

I was struck by one case. The Turkish waiter who had been serving us throughout the holiday came one day to our table during lunch with a very serious look. He brought with him a girl who spoke English (he himself - neither be nor me, only with gestures).
We got a little tense.

And suddenly, blushing with embarrassment, he explained that during the whole of our vacation he tried to establish emotional contact with our daughter, but she - alas! She never smiled at him.

This upset him so much that he made a rose and a frog out of paper with his own hands, and presented it to our child. I was the most happy. It was really unexpected and pleasant.

In the restaurant you can eat both in the halls and on the open terrace. But they smoke there. As for soups for lunch (a frequently asked question), there was no choice. Only one kind. The same applies to porridge for breakfast.

There are three a la carte restaurants on the territory - Chinese, Turkish and Italian. We wanted to go there, but realized it too late - you have to sign up there immediately upon arrival.

There is a good bar - Pool Bar. During the day there are all sorts of pancakes with all sorts of fillings, and in the evening you can just sit and drink cocktails.
At best, bring popcorn, chips or nuts. The bar is right next to the pool and in the evening the plastic chairs (attention ladies! ) get wet.

We tried to wipe it with paper towels, but it didn't help much. Once the waiter noticed this, brought a towel and began to wipe our chairs. This seemed to him not enough, then he sat down on each chair in turn, and wiped them with his jeans! It was cool.

About drinks. I drank three or four glasses of red dry wine at dinner per evening, plus two Campari at the Pool Bar. It didn't give me at all. This is by the way about whether drinks are diluted there.

2. Number.
This is the weak link. The number is none. We lived in a bungalow. On the plus side, it's relatively quiet. Although there was an incident on the first evening.

We came to the room tired of the flight and impressions from the restaurant. We had just gone to bed, when suddenly, right under our windows, as it seemed to me, the bombing began. As it turned out later, it was fireworks in a nearby hotel.
There has never been such a disgrace during our stay.

They were infuriated by the drunken Germans, who were returning from the disco at three in the morning, singing at the top of their lungs “Kalinka-malinka!! ! ". It would be fun if not at night. Before leaving for the Mega Saray, they read on the Internet that if you leave a dollar every day for the maid, she will somehow fill the bedspread on the bed in the form of roses in a special way.

Tried - didn't work. They stopped leaving it - began to cast our shampoo, which we brought from Moscow. There was a lot of shampoo, enough for everyone, and it didn’t spoil anyone’s vacation. Conclusion - take a lot of shampoo. Joke.

In fact, there is only one plus in a bungalow room - laminate instead of tiles, as in other hotels of this level. The room is VERY basic, no frills. For the child put something like a cot. Mosquitoes and other evil spirits were not observed.

3. Beach
Normal. Every day they clean, level the sand.
There are always places on the beach. Towels are issued according to cards, which are issued on the first day at the reception. There are no lines or crowds anywhere.

There was the only case when there was a hitch with towels (somewhere a peasant got stuck, who delivered them in his mini-car). One of the animators instantly materialized and set up a mock auction for the formed queue of three people. As a lot, he put up his wet towel, and shouted sky-high prices, amusing the audience.

I noticed this feature: Russians and Germans hang out separately on the beach. There, the landing-lying places are divided, as it were, into three groups, each at a distance of about thirty meters from each other. So, on the right, if you stand facing the sea, the Russians hung out, in the middle - 50 to 50, and on the left - German.

So, there were always free places on the “German” site, because.
representatives of the Aryan nation preferred chlorine in the pool to salty sea water. By the way, about...

4. Pools
There are three of them. Two adults - one with slides and daily animation, the second, the so-called Relax Pool, and one for children. Where the slides are always fun and noisy.

Animators arrange all sorts of competitions and sports. The sun loungers are mostly occupied by the Germans. In the “relaxation pool”, elderly German women swim with an important look on inflatable mattresses.

Pretty boring. Once my husband jumped there with a running start, catching up with a wave, and thus introducing some variety. In principle, entry is prohibited there with children, but we leaked with ours once. Some mothers put their children there on sunbeds for an afternoon nap.

The kids have fun in the kids pool. Slides in the form of a gut (sorry), the usual small slide and all sorts of bells and whistles there. There is also a kids club here. With children there they are engaged in modeling, drawing (including on clothes), etc.
I can’t write more precisely, because ours didn’t go there, but not because it’s not interesting there, but because of some traits of her character. There are Russian-speaking children's animators, and in the evenings they arrange a disco for the kids.

5. Animation.
There is nothing to compare. We are not fans, but we especially liked the competition with the participation of vacationers. They laughed to tears, although I still can’t understand why.

Personally, I liked the Turkish night - it was very good there one girl danced belly dance and everything else ...My husband probably liked it too, but he did not admit it. Cool idea - white nights and black nights, when all vacationers had to dress in all white, or all black, respectively.

6. Weather.
We were lucky, oddly enough. It was very hot and sunny for the beginning of October. Once the morning turned out to be overcast, and the mood instantly deteriorated.

But not for long.
When we saw one of the animators, Alex, who raised his hands to the sky and with the most serious look asked the Almighty to send good weather to the unworthy, our lips involuntarily stretched into smiles.

General impression.
Here everything will be done to make you feel:
A) at home
B) even better

Seriously, it all depends on the person and his mood. We personally liked it very much.
This year we wanted to go to Mega Saray. But when we arrived at the travel agency, the girl told us in confidence that this year the attitude of the staff towards the Russians had allegedly deteriorated. It confused us. Therefore, a big request - who has already been this year, PLEASE write, how is it? Did the staff really relax? I would not like to believe.

We really want to go there, because they don’t look for good from good. But I wouldn't want to get screwed either.
Thank you for being patient and for reading.
End.
