Think well!

We rested at Lykia Botanika Beach in August 2009. Before going to this hotel, we carefully studied the reviews on the Internet - it is clear that there are always both positive and negative ones, but there were several times more positive ones, so we were "led". We perfectly understood that we were going to Turkey, that the hotel was 4 stars - we tuned in to the positive, that we would not notice shortcomings and problems.
We gave preference to this hotel, because in the photographs it is buried in the forest (we decided during the heat, we will walk through the forest), because there are water slides (the child is 3 years old, loves it very much), because it’s not far from the airport, because it’s not Antalya ( at least something new, we have already rested in Antalya 3 times), because the sea is new (Aegean).
And what did we see?

There really is a forest, but it’s impossible to walk through it - swampy soil and impassable creepers with thorns! Beautiful - I do not argue, but not what I wanted.
The path to the beach is really shady and not hot, and it seems to go not so far. But when a child cut his leg in the sea and yelled with a good obscenity to the whole beach, and I, hobbled, ran to the room for iodine and a band-aid, I cursed the path in the tenth knee! And this despite the fact that our building was the closest to this glorious path, and there were people who still had to comb a good kilometer around the hotel!
Further water slides - the water in them flows not just cold, but insanely icy! And when, having dared and driven, you fall headlong into the same icy pool, you want to howl and jump out like a bullet (which they did with success! ). The child went around the hill on the tenth road!
Nutrition is a separate issue. Let me remind you once again - we are in Turkey for the 4th time - we have never seen so many peppery, fatty, spicy and fried dishes anywhere! The first days the child ate only watermelons. Then he got used to it - poor fellow!
They settled the three of us in a 5-bed room (for some reason, but we did not complain - a large room), and they gave one key. I went to the reception, I say, give me another key. And to me in response - pay 15 dollars! And for what, you ask? That is, 5 people in this room would have to watch for each other and get out with one key!
Playground - on the grass, which is watered with a hose every morning, it turns out knee-deep mud, which, despite the heat, does not dry out even in the evening. There are plastic benches around the perimeter, on which, apparently, adult uncles and aunts sat down at one time, and they broke exactly in the middle.
Carousel "on chains" - instead of seats, plastic children's chairs without legs, which are not even attached, but simply placed on metal crossbars. Each time, rolling out the child, I mentally hoped that this whole hellish structure would not fly out!

A sandbox in the form of a ship - on it is a steering wheel, which, when untwisted, falls straight to the child's feet! True, closer to our departure, someone broke it in half and stuck it into the ground with a wooden stake (there was a big arrival of tourists from Russia... ) - I don’t know whether to rejoice at this fact or not.
The crown of creation to all this on the playground there are two artificial pools (for beauty, as they say). One of them has a pink gypsum swan with a broken neck. And another has a statue of a pissing boy in front of a statue of a lion. At the statue of the boy, someone also, obviously, wanted to beat something off, but it was reconstructed by smearing with something like cement, and they also painted red lips and yellow hair. I photographed everything on purpose, so you can be sure of the authenticity.
Attention parents traveling with children! Near the stage, where all evening events take place, including mini-disco, there are 4 shops - souvenirs, silver, food, toys, as well as any consumer goods, such as neon sticks with music, illuminated horns. Every evening turns either into an educational process with all the ensuing consequences, or into a serious waste.
Well, and most importantly, it looks like some kind of infection is roaming in the hotel pool. The child and the husband fell ill with hellish pain in the ears, they had to apply for insurance to a local hospital. It turned out that a very strong inflammation, prescribed antibiotics. Upon returning to the hotel, it turned out that many other Russian tourists had similar symptoms. During the 14 days of stay, we saw only once that the pool was being cleaned in the morning!

I would also like to pay special attention to the employee at the reception Hussein (photo attached). Remember this face! We say about such people - “and he will sell his own mother! ” And this is exactly about him. It was he who first offered the second key for $15. Then, when we urgently needed to call a taxi to go to the hospital, Hussein, of course, had to “negotiate” with the taxi driver. The insurance company told us that we could bargain for $50 round trip. Hussein said it would cost 90 dollars! After my indignation, we agreed on 65. And this despite the fact that he knows that we are not going to rest, that the child is in pain! Fairytale swine!
They tried not to notice many other details - dirty, wet beach towels that you are given instead of yours (that is, you obviously received someone's towels that you just handed over), 3 girls (about 9-12 years old) defile around the territory - daughters of the owner of the hotel, who allow themselves to jump rope after 11 p. m. on the third floor of a residential building, absolutely not giving a damn about all the vacationers.
By the way, we were told a story about a hotel owner who was approached by tourists from Germany with a question - "we rested in your hotel several years ago, why did everything change for the worse? ". In response to which they heard - "but you do not come! ".
In general, think for yourself, decide for yourself, as they say. We have never had such a bad vacation as at the Lykia Botanica Beach Hotel!
