Good day, friends. So our vacation, which lasted from May 24 to June 7.2014, has come to an end. Traveled with my wife and 6 year old daughter.
When choosing a hotel, I read a lot of reviews about it, followed dozens of discussions on various forums, so I had an idea where we were going. Hence the title of the review. I would not like to write another (God knows how many) review in the style of "Wow !!! ", but dwell on the nuances and the most "spear-intensive" topics. In addition, I really hope that representatives of the hotel will read this review - I am writing for them too. But first things first.

ACCOMMODATION. We drove to the hotel around 22.30 (damn MetroJet! ). There were several other families besides us. Here is the first nuance: on the hotel website ( http://www. marcopolo. com. tr/media/dosya/hotel__plan_2014. pdf) there is a detailed plan, with a breakdown of the residential area into sectors. Take a look and choose which part of the hotel you would like to live in.

We chose sector B in advance (part of the Club), and in accordance with numerous recommendations in various reviews, the second floor. That's what they asked at the reception. However, no money was given. After 20 minutes, we received a card from room 1240 - they gave us what we asked for (fortunately, the end of May - there were still many places). We were loaded into an electric car, and after 5 minutes we were already inspecting our new home.

ROOM. The first thing that surprised me was the size of the room. Thought it would be less. They even planned to negotiate at the reception about relocation to the family. But when they saw the number, they changed their minds. Large room with a decent balcony, hallway, SUS - also not small. The only thing missing was a bed for my daughter. Immediately, two maids arranged a rearrangement - they moved the bedside tables, connected two beds into one, and brought a folding bed for my daughter to the vacant place. I read that because of the tiled floor, the beds "disperse".
Our problem was solved with the help of a double sheet tucked under both mattresses. The furniture is not new, but very decent. Plumbing too. Nothing falls off or leaks. There are ants. There are not many of them, but if you leave food, after a while you will see a bird's eye view of the highway on the table. Condor no problem. But remember - if your balcony door is open, the air conditioner will not turn on. The safe is quite large and easy to manage. Refrigerator normal, nightstand. Now for the cons. No soundproofing. Especially the front door. Somewhere in the reviews I read that the singing of the mullah interfered with vacationers. I can say that people with light sleep with an open balcony can really be heard. With electric jambs. One light bulb was missing. Asked - put in. One of the two cards was not read by the electrical controller. I had to change. Turning on the hood in the bathroom led to a "reboot" of all electrics in the room.
The TV turned off. The lamp above the mirror periodically refused to turn on. Turned on once in the middle of the night. And further. Gentlemen hoteliers, well, make you one outlet that works without a card. Why can't I charge my portable devices during dinner? I had to leave one of the cards in the reader in violation of the rules. All this, of course, did not spoil the rest, but gentlemen, pay attention.

CLEANING. We liked. The floors were washed, the beds made neatly, the linen was not forgotten to be changed, there were even more towels than necessary. But they saved paper - they had to ask. They did, however, without question. Everything would be fine: smiling, they know their business. But here's the problem: not only in Russian - in English, not just what they don't speak, they don't even understand properly. And this is in a hotel where 100% Russian speakers! Lord hoteliers! Come up with something!

TERRITORY. Super. Big. Green, well-groomed. Green walls.
Trunks of huge Mediterranean pines are densely entwined with ivy. Some are built right into the walls of the houses. Many of them have a very beautiful blue-green backlight. Rose garden. Cacti, Bananas. There is a whole pine forest between the reception and the Garden. In general, well done! On the territory there are 2 shops with clothes at quite reasonable prices. Photo studio. Jewelry. Salon. Sweets and souvenirs. The prices are adequate. Children's outdoor tattoo parlor. The prices are rather high - a 12x5 cm colored tattoo on my daughter's leg cost $22. True, its "maintenance" is free of charge during the entire stay.

WiFi. $1 per day for each device. The signal quality and speed is not perfect, but quite acceptable throughout the hotel, including the beach. Skype worked well. Didn't include the video though. "Heavy" sites, though not quickly, but loaded without errors. In general, for this price, the service is almost perfect.
True, the question is whether it will remain so at the height of the season at peak load on the network. If anyone is interested, my device is a FLY IQ441 smartphone.

SEA. Very near. Sunbeds are hard to find, but possible. Above them is a common canopy in a fine mesh (it will not work to hide under it from the rain). The beach is small pebbles. The last 3 meters in front of the sea is a large one. The beach is generally clean. Sometimes there are cigarette butts. The entrance to the sea is inconvenient - the leg immediately gets stuck in the pebbles. The depth grows very quickly - a few meters, and that's it. There are no breakwaters on the beach. Only buoys. The water is clear, without algae. Lots of pretty rocks.

POOLS. Very spacious. I liked the water - almost no chlorine is felt. It's hard to find a sunbed during the day. But it's quite real. Bars, toilets, towels - everything is within walking distance. BUT! Be careful - fragments of disposable cutlery periodically come across on the tiles near the pool. But everyone goes barefoot, including children.
There is a table where you can make yourself a salad. Lemon sauce and olive oil in unlimited quantities. The drinks. In the morning - orange fresh juice of very decent quality. Fanta Cola Sprite is much tastier than its Russian counterparts (apparently, it's all about the water). At lunch, beer, three types of wine, vodka, brandy are added to them. Draft Efes Pilsner was a pleasant discovery - an extremely decent beer. But gentlemen, who thought of pouring beer into cognac glasses? You have to run fifteen times! Please bring beer glasses or mugs. Wine of 3 types - white, rose and red. White is rare stuff. Pink - a little better, but the taste is not for everyone, very tart. Haven't tried red. Vodka is normal - not Absolute, of course, but you can drink it. Rakia is very decent, better than in Greece and Bulgaria. Dishes. On the forums, someone complained about chipped dishes and shabby cutlery.
I can say the following: chips really take place. Approximately 5% of glasses have chips at the base of the stem. Occasionally there are chips on the plates. Appliances are normal. A little worn, maybe, but quite decent looking. I've never encountered bad dishwashing. No complaints about this. The chef is smart and super pro - he walks around the hall, watching every little thing. The result is natural – Marco Polo's cuisine causes well-deserved admiration of vacationers. Now about the unpleasant. Places in the restaurant are not enough catastrophically. If at breakfast it is almost not noticeable, at lunch it is not very noticeable, then at dinner the situation is simply deplorable. By 18.55 a crowd gathers at the restaurant. The starting shot sounds, and the crowd races inward. Outsiders of the race dejectedly cut circles with plates in their hands, looking in vain for a place to land.
So parents, pay attention.

ADULT ANIMATION. From the very morning, everyone can find something to their liking - entertainment by the pool, Turkish lessons, archery and gun shooting (gentlemen hoteliers, splurge on a second gun, please - waiting for your turn for up to half an hour (! ! ) is not very cool ), sauna, the list goes on. Animators entertain vacationers, and have fun themselves, dropping, for example, a person who is not waiting for a dirty trick by the arms - by the legs from a sun lounger into the pool. : -) Evening shows are not bad - if in other hotels with a clear conscience I called them collective farm amateur performances, then in Marco Polo amateur performances of the level of the regional philharmonic society. Not a marionette, of course, but sane people do not expect this. Very decent "imported" shows - Russian circus, Brazilian dancers. Discotheques were arranged in the open air with very decent lighting equipment. Girls-animators danced beautifully in stylized cages.
True, the children were somewhat surprised to see their favorite animators in a somewhat unusual outfit, but dads, I'm sure, liked it! ; -))

TOURS. Damn, how many times have they told the world ...Yes, but everything is not good! : -( In general, they scammed us like complete suckers. And all because they blindly fell for the assurances of the meeting guide ("We have a very small difference in price, blah blah blah ... "), and did not bother elementary scout the situation. In general, look at the table and you will understand everything.

Checked in, a few minutes later were in the doctor's office. (“Happy” owners of insurance policies “Ingosstrakh”! Please note - for EVERY visit to the doctor, under the terms of insurance, you are obliged to pay $ 30 YOURSELF). Doctor in Russian no boom-boom. But there was a sister-translator nearby. We were sent for tests. The doctor looked at the result, said that it was okay, prescribed an analogue of our Motillium, and sent it to a pharmacy located in a neighboring house. The prices in it are quite Moscow. The same ambulance took us back to the hotel. In general, the feeling of getting to know Turkish medicine was not bad. I would very much like our experience in this aspect to be of no use to anyone.

That, perhaps, is all. I will gladly answer any questions. Good rest and good mood to all my readers! : -)
