Rested from May 29 to June 9.2007 - me, my husband and four-year-old son. I will note right away that they were satisfied with the rest in Wish Grand Kemer, they never regretted the money spent. Although, after reading the May reviews, I was in complete shock, I was going to change the hotel and harassed my travel agent with whining (special thanks to Dima from the Mensei travel agency for support and attentive attitude to the client - that is, to me).
So impressions. . .
Everything written about the hotel in the reviews is true and false at the same time. The truth is that this is a family friendly hotel that has everything you need for a normal holiday. Yes, this is not 5 *, especially if you compare the hotel with Rixes, Sungate Port Royal, Amara and the like. But a ticket to Wish Grand Kemer costs almost half as much. Some fours offered us more. It's worth taking into account

Territory: Large, very green, well-groomed, cozy area. We enjoyed walking along it. Palm trees of several species, sprawling pines, flowers, thickets of bushes. Near the main building there is a human-sized wall of aloe - for the first time I saw this. Soft lawns, which are pleasant to walk barefoot. My child has never hurt himself on grass or branches, although he ran a lot and often with bare legs. Perhaps the territory is 5 stars.
Housing stock: The territory is conditionally divided into a hotel and a club. The main building is very original and looks wonderful in an ensemble with a swimming pool and landscaping. The eye is resting. The club part is also pretty located further from the sea, across the bridge from the hotel. There were no problems with crossing it back and forth several times a day (the fact that it is a 100 km walk to the bungalow is a lie). 5 minutes walk from the main building. The fact that only Russians are accommodated in bungalows is also not true. Germans and Turks lived next to us. Everyone was happy. We didn’t break into the main building - we thought that it would be quieter in the bungalow - at the small one at 9.30, the lights out, in the afternoon a quiet hour. Were not mistaken.
But that the rooms will not interfere with repairs (not cosmetic (it was recently made in a bungalow) but a real reconstruction), this is true. It's all a little out of whack there. So, for example, because of the idiotic design of the shower cabin, a puddle constantly flowed on the floor in the bathroom. The towels on the floor were always damp. In general, far from 5 stars, the atmosphere is Spartan, but everything you need is there: a non-alcoholic minibar, individual air conditioning (central in the main building), a balcony with armchairs, a bed for us, a sofa for a small one (they didn’t take a folding bed, they got by with a sofa), free safe, hair dryer. It’s a bit dark in the room (again, due to the ill-conceived design of the houses), but we only spent the night there and spent a quiet hour (my son and husband were sleeping, I read on the balcony). However, the standard rooms of the main building are not worth 5.
Pools: Large, with turns like a river and bridges at the main building, there is also a "paddling pool". Smaller with two water slides (working by the hour, but quite enough) on the territory of the club. An adult of average height in the deepest place in both pools will be neck-deep. For kids there is a "shallow water" with steps in depth. The water is clean, moderately chlorinated. In the pool at the main building all day music, games and sports activities such as water polo under the guidance of animators.

Beach and sea: The sea is clean, transparent, sometimes in a storm, rubbish is washed ashore - plastic bags, scraps of paper. But this is at least a 7-star rest - the costs of civilization.
The beach is pebbles of various sizes, sand, the entrance to the sea is convenient, gradual, without cobblestones. If you move to the right of the hotel beach (I don’t know whose territory it is), there will be an even more gentle long entrance with shallow water where kids can play just fine. Cleaned daily, although cigarette butts come across in the sand (despite the fact that through each step of the trash, some people do not notice them). In the bar by the beach, all the booze is dispensed in plastic containers - so there were no glasses in the sand and in the water.
On the beach there is a banana, skis, cheesecakes - for a fee. Catamaran and kayaks - FREE!! ! Aborigines offer them without batting an eyelid for $10, but if you make a surprised face and say “And at the reception they told me it’s free” - the topic of payment no longer arises. Under the bridge-pier in the evenings a huge school of colorful fish grazes. Feeding them with a bun is a favorite entertainment for adults and children - the pieces are grabbed literally on the fly, jumping out of the water. Class!
Entertainment

The animators are funny, perky, young. Mostly Turks. While we were resting, there was only one Russian-speaking girl - Ira, who worked in a mini-club. Before our departure, two more girls appeared Russian in animation. But there were no problems with understanding. The animators speak good German, good English and know enough words in Russian to explain themselves to our compatriots. The shows are in a nuclear mixture of Russian-Turkish-English, but this only makes it funnier. There were imported concerts of Turkish ensembles, live music. Those who wanted to have fun and actively relax did not get bored. During the day, aerobics, aqua aerobics, water polo, yoga on the lawn, all sorts of competitions. In the evening there is a mini disco for children, at 9.30 a show for parents. Parallel to the other side of the building on the cinema street - a screen is hung out, soft ottomans are scattered on the lawn, around a palm tree, above the head of a star - beauty.
Also on the territory there is a house where children (for money) can play Playstation, tennis courts (racket rental for a fee), a mini-football field. At night, there were no discotheques - I won’t say about the quality - but the room was like in a country club.
For children there is a mini club. Please note that the description of the hotel does not say this, but it works by the hour and is very inconvenient - from 10 to 12 and from 14 to 15. That is, in the morning we went to the beach and did not get into it, and then my child went to bed on a quiet hour to 4 pm. In the end, pass. You can’t leave a child there for the whole day, so those who planned to hand over the child and go on an excursion broke off. Two Turkish women worked in the mini-club (they hardly speak Russian) and a Ukrainian Ira. Only she truly occupied the children and watched them. When she had a day off, the kids were bored and loitered around the Turkish nannies. And many Russian guys generally preferred not to come to the mini-club that day.
Food

Here, too, "true and false" from the May reviews in one bottle. Yes, “precooked meatballs similar to cat food” are on the menu. And the assortment as a whole is somewhat monotonous. Recently, by the way, this is a general trend for Turkey - the deterioration of nutrition. But there is plenty of food. No one went hungry, there was enough for everyone. Meat is scarce, that's true. Beef in the form of chopped rolls was a couple of times. Mostly chicken and turkey, not enough fish - two kinds and not daily. Nevertheless, for dinner there are always three types of hot meat and 4 types of side dishes in different variations - rice, potatoes, vegetables, pasta. All kinds of greens, cheese, cheese, olives, sweets, fruits, etc. Breakfast is standard - eggs, omelettes, yogurt, cereals, pastries. There is an afternoon snack - pastries and coffee-tea. In the beach bar from 12.30 to 16 fast food. "Nomad's Tent" - an aunt wandering around the hotel baking delicious cakes stuffed with potatoes and cheese. Delicious but peppery. You can eat almost around the clock. "Hungry time" from 17 to 19. At this time, everyone is preparing for dinner and you can only drink.
Of the free drinks - the famous Turkish Yuppi for every taste, sprite, cola, fanta, min. water, soda water (no juices), alcoholic drinks - gin (gin and tonic is quite tolerable, I recommend), simple wine - red, white, rose (sour, but normal with dinner), beer (like Baltika), vodka (local), something like cognac (local) - the husband did not approve, but the people drank with cola - they did not spit. Everything else is paid - ask for a drink - they will warn you. There are bars near the bungalow (you don't have to run far), near the main pool, in the main building, by the beach.
The frustration for me was the lack of normal coffee, even for money. You can forget about brewed fragrant "turkish coffee". Only vending machines filled with instant Maxwell House. You can achieve a tolerable fortress only by pulling out the cup in time (first coffee pours, then water)
Regarding the fact that tap water in drinking machines is complete nonsense. I watched how they repaired one of them and changed containers - bottled water. There were no poisonings, disorders and other things, and I have not heard about this from anyone.
I don't recommend going to a la carte restaurants. The food is mediocre, the portions are small, the wine is the same. We after the Italian restaurant went to "dine" in the main.
Maintenance and service
Everyone is friendly and correct. "Biased attitude towards the Russians and obvious fawning over the Germans" - complete nonsense! Yes, they communicate with the Germans more, but only because even the waiters understand the language well, they can joke, keep up the conversation, etc. Ours in most cases (including me) do not even speak English and the dialogues are reduced to requests expressed by nouns, for example , "fork", "salt" or "red wine".

With complex problems, you can contact the reception - there are people who speak Russian. A nice girl at the renta car table speaks Russian. She helped us a lot when we needed to talk to a local Turkish nurse. Do not refuse the services of an interpreter and managers of travel agencies. Representatives of Pegasus and Teza have just not spent the night at the hotel. The bartender at the beach bar speaks Russian well and understands ours perfectly.
Room cleaning every day (at different times). Towels were changed daily without reminders, linen every three days. The minibar was replenished as it was empty. And priceless cotton pads, sticks, shampoos, a needle and thread and other haberdashery are exclusively on demand. Seemed to save.
Nevertheless, the service at the hotel is not five - a fact. Plates and cups came across poorly washed, the tablecloths were not re-layed throughout the entire dinner (sitting down at the table an hour after it began, he admired the stains and crumbs left by the previous eater). But most of all, I was personally finished off with plastic stirrers, which were proposed to be used instead of teaspoons (they were constantly in short supply). In my opinion, this is only acceptable in street eateries. But even if you do not find fault with aesthetics, it is not possible to draw yogurt and jam at breakfast with them.
One of the main problems of the hotel is the lack of staff. The one that is available simply does not have time to serve tourists - the hotel is almost completely filled. However, before our departure, new faces appeared in all structures. So maybe things will work out.
A few more touches
• For insurance, you can contact the medical staff at the hotel. We had Ingosstrakh - no problems arose. They conducted an initial examination, called a doctor, took him to the hospital, and gave him medicines. All under insurance.
• Hotel photographers left the most unpleasant impression. They charge 6 dollars for each photo and do not want to give in. At the same time, they do not write to the disk - only printing. One lady for a photo shoot - 20 pieces of pictures broke 250 bucks. They ask for 15 bucks for transferring what was shot from your camera to a flash drive or disk (in the video game house they easily did this for 5)

• Opposite the hotel there are several shops, including a mini market, just walk behind them, there will be something like a market (souvenirs, simple clothes - if you forgot to buy something for your vacation, you will find it there). The Friday market in Goynuk is a natural aprashka (only charged prices, children's jeans "real Dolce Gabbana, take it" were offered for $ 25 -  ) - do not go, you will lose time in vain, one piece of junk.
• Our operator "Natalie Tours" was extremely unobtrusive in the service. We saw the hotel guide once - on the day of arrival, the promised free tour (for the rescheduled flight) was squeezed to us, and we completely forgot about the fact that we were leaving. Until they themselves began to demand information at the reception desk on the day of departure (the hotel employees themselves contacted the office, within 20 minutes they got an answer on the third attempt), there was no clarity. It would be funny if the charter was moved to an earlier time!
Pegasus and Tez-tour are actively working with the hotel. We regularly saw representatives of the Neva. Of course, Natalie Tours is cheaper, but if you intend to actively communicate with guides, choose another operator.
