We rested at the hotel for 2 weeks with my daughter in August 2017 on a tour from Intourist.

LOCATION AND SEA.

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS EXCELLENT. To Marmaris every 2 minutes there is a minibus for 3 lira directly from the hotel exit (in general, you can stop it anywhere in the city). Travel time to the center of Marmaris is 10-15 minutes. Icmeler itself is not big, 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel and you are in the center. If you leave the hotel and go left after 10 minutes you will reach a cool playground, even further away there is an interesting science park for children. FROM THE HOTEL TO THE SEA IS LITERALLY 4 MINUTES, and from the beach you can already walk along the promenade, go from it to the other end of the village and walk again in 15-20 minutes to reach the hotel on the other side. Icmeler is calm and pleasant. Arriving in Marmaris, there is already turmoil after Icmeler. At the same time, supermarkets, markets, banks are within walking distance, they accept cards everywhere. There are Irish pubs, bars, cafes, children's entertainment.
THE HOTEL IS OWN A PIECE OF THE BEACH right at the entrance to the beach, THERE IS THE PLATE OF THE HOTEL. SUNKERS, TOILET AND SHOWER ARE FREE OF CHARGE (toilet and shower are located nearby in a small room, the condition and sanitary conditions are 3), despite the false information from Intourist. Turks may come up to you and start talking about the colors of the sunbeds, confusing and trying to impose drinks or pay for a sunbed. Do not listen to anyone, it is better to check the beach area at the reception and relax. They tried to approach me, but I said that I had clarified the information at the reception, that here is the sign of the beach, and I can relax here calmly and for free, they didn’t approach me anymore.

The sea in August is clear, warm, there are no waves here. Large sandy beach, garbage is removed on hotel beaches, but gobies are the scourge of the beach. Water activities are present. Be sure to take a mask, there are a lot of fish.
And if you go to a wild place, which I will not tell you about, I have not seen such a number of marine reptiles in emerald water, even when I went snorkeling specifically. I was also scratched by a sea urchin, but this is a rarity, in the area of u200bu200ba standard beach you are unlikely to stumble upon it.

BUILDINGS, ROOMS AND SERVICE.

The hotel has 4 buildings and 222 standard rooms. Buildings A, B, C and D. IN BUILDING D ONLY FROM 4-5 PEOPLE, ASKING TO POST YOU THERE IN TWO OR THREE OF THEM - IS POINTless, OR WITH A SUPPLEMENT OF $ 100 PER DAY. At first I thought that only families were accommodated there, in fact, I was also informed at the reception, however, then I met a large noisy company of guys a la Tagil, who were immediately settled in building D without any objections when paying for a standard room. Their behavior is far from family, the reservation is standard, however, there were many of them. Building D stands at a distance, many do not even know that the building belongs to the Mirage.

There is a private swimming pool where all guests can go. AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHAT MANY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT, NEAR BUILDING D THERE IS A NATURAL ROCKY CAVE, YOU MUST GO. Building D itself did not delight me, like the previous commentators. I didn't see the room from the inside, but there is a stale smell of refurbishment with tobacco in the corridors. In general, he is somehow dreary and without mood.

Buildings A and B are buildings at the very entrance and the first pool. And, as I understand it, they are for the most unassuming guests. Some balconies go directly to the chill zone (the door can not be used). This is also the case with all the rooms on the ground floor, you can enter through the balcony. Music always plays in the pool until 23.00, I personally can’t imagine how they live in rooms overlooking the pool. Building C is in the middle, opposite the dining room, and is, in my opinion, the golden mean.
We arrived at the hotel as a group of 10 people, collected our passports at the reception and sent them to dinner. After a rude refusal of Intourist staff to provide assistance, I tried to express my wishes on my own before issuing the keys. WARNING, ENGLISH KNOWLEDGE WHEN STAYING AT THE HOTEL IS REQUIRED IF YOU WANT ANY HELP. There is a Russian-speaking employee, but I’m not sure if they can help you with anything, if only in standard small requests. To resolve a serious issue, you will have to communicate with higher authorities in English. Wishes were not accepted and we also went to dinner.

After dinner, the passports and keys were returned. Everyone fled to their rooms, and after a while, exactly half of the dissatisfied returned to the reception. Someone was given a room opposite the garbage dump, someone was not cleaned. I was given a room in building A right in front of the pool, which I tried in every way to avoid.
Realizing that no one but myself would help me, I and several other couples began to resolve the issue of settling on their own. I will say right away that the guys at the reception do not decide anything, they only follow instructions. It is impossible to get anything from them. In order for you to change the number, you will need English and a woman who in her office is engaged in the distribution of guests by rooms. As I understand it, the most stupid numbers are given to those who arrive at the beginning.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel at 14.00, solving problems, we managed to check in only at 18.00! A lot of nerves were spent and all emotional resources were involved. Thanks to this, I managed to find a woman who is engaged in resettlement. She could not withstand the attack to her office by a group of disgruntled guests. I was immediately warned that she spoke only Turkish and English, in the hope that I did not know English, but that was not the case.
Knowing the language helped me a lot. After a very long debate and the stalemate of the situation, I, purely humanly, asked her to take pity on me and the child and simply provide other rooms to choose from, given that there were plenty of them, and we lived here for 2 weeks. I sat down in her office and said that I would not go anywhere until I was settled in another room. BOLD WOMAN ZHANNA - A GUIDE FROM INTOURIST, MEANWHILE, THREATERED THAT I CALLED THE POLICE FOR ME, later it turned out that Zhanna tried to scare me like that, instead of helping me under the contract concluded with Intourist, well, at least try, I did it : )

And so, with all the things, I dragged myself three times in the heat to look at the numbers. I stopped at room 3506 on the 5th floor in building C. It did not differ from the previous rooms except for the view. The first one was with a view of the pool, the second one was on a dilapidated wall, and the third one - WITH THE BEST MOUNTAIN VIEW in the opposite direction from the hotel's infrastructure.
Plus - on the 5th floor there is a large balcony, and sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea and the stars is priceless for me. The balcony has become one of the favorite spots there. But this is the left side of building C on the 5th floor.

And then I ran into another problem. There are yellow stains on the sheets, the walls are stained so frankly, as if someone threw a bag of juice at the wall, the furniture is dusty, the grates in the air conditioner are covered with a centuries-old layer of dust, apparently from the very opening of the hotel, the mirrors are stained. My house is clean, and here I come to rest in 5 stars in such unsanitary conditions. Having spent 5 hours of hellish showdowns the day before, I did not hesitate to ask loudly whether this was normal. After another scandal with a group of cleaners, I demanded to wash my room. Apparently, I got everyone there so much that they drove all the maid staff, installers with stepladders into the room, and we left for an hour. An hour later, the room was licked and, you won't believe it, it looked not like the best, but like a normal cozy room.
The design is very nice, LCD TV with satellite channels, well working and located air conditioner, mirror, lights, shower room with normal plumbing. And then I realized that the scourge of the hotel is that THE HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE A NORMAL UNDERSTANDING OF CLEANLINESS. It seems that for them this is pure, that they simply do not see the dirt that the guests see. And if all the rooms were cleaned the way they cleaned me then, it would be the most comfortable hotel, and the number of dissatisfied would be reduced by a factor of three. In the meantime, the cleaning of the hotel leaves much to be desired. I don’t know if it’s because of the special situation, but they came every day with cleaning, every day I left 3 lira for tea, then they clean more responsibly and there is some confidence that they won’t touch anything, although I personally didn’t hear about any theft there. Removed superficially. If you want to be sure to change towels or change the bed, throw it in a pile on the floor, otherwise they may not change it.
Any cosmetic accessories were put only in the first days. By the way, in the evening on the territory of the hotel you can meet a couple of cockroaches, like we have exactly the same, but only the size of a palm) to crush, they need to be crushed, the hotel staff told me, slamming one in front of us.

There is a paid small safe, I did not use it. WIFI IN THE ROOM IS FREE, BUT CONSIDER IT IS NOT. At least during peak season. It catches so badly, with it in the whole town, even in cafes, that for 2 weeks I didn’t post or send a single photo, and calls and messages through the messenger could only be made while standing in one specific place in the room, and that communication quality left wish much better. However, there is an Internet corner, how the Wi-Fi worked there, I can’t say. The elevator in the building is barely alive, you get used to it over time.

The rooms are all small, almost the entire area of the room is occupied by a double bed, or two single beds, when the double is pushed apart. Half a meter from the wall to the bed. If you planned to dance there or, for example, imagined yourself reading on an armchair, this will not happen. But in our room there was a fairly spacious bathroom, a nice non-leaking shower-rain. In other rooms that I saw, the bathrooms were smaller. However, I also saw a standard room in the same building on the same floor, much more spacious, as if it were a corner room. In general, I repeat, WHICH STANDARD NUMBER FROM 222 WILL YOU GET - THIS IS A MATTER OF CASE. MY ADVICE, PRACTICE IN ENGLISH, FIND THE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SETTLEMENT AND POLITELY ASK HIM TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT YOUR WISHES ON THE SETTLEMENT.

NUTRITION

Meals at the hotel are all inclusive. Plenty of food, RESTAURANT STAFF SUPER FRIENDLY AND PLEASANT enough to override some food grievances.
Never poisoned, but digestive discomfort was present in the first week. There seems to be a lot of food, but it is unpretentious. Plus, I don’t eat meat, I didn’t care about the meat issue, but I think meat-eaters can get upset. Meat has always been part of the dishes, but in such a processed form that it is difficult to call it meat. As for the fish, delicious fish was tasted 2-3 times in two weeks, grilled on the street. The next day, this fish, I don’t dare to say the remains, but was already part of the vegetable stew. There are always baked bread, Turkish cream soups, french fries, cheese, coffee and juices, though all juices are powdered. For breakfast, there is always an omelet, eggs, milk, cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, but cereal, oatmeal and pancakes are somehow too low quality. For lunch and dinner, there is always rice, pasta, chickpeas, a sea of stewed vegetables, but it feels like they were stewed 5 times, each time adding a new ingredient to the products left over from the last dinner.
And there is a feeling from all the food that it is, as it were, not bad and not spoiled, but not of high quality and not just cooked. The most delicious has always been on the grill on the street or on the fire. There are always tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. From fruits - watermelon, melon, grapes and plums. As for sweets, this is a disappointment, national sweets were completely absent, every day they rested on biscuit cakes with unpretentious cream and some kind of jelly or pudding, but of different colors. They also gave ice cream, now this is already tastier.

It will not be easy to choose food with a child, the food is quite fatty and mixed. My daughter ate vegetables, eggs and pasta or rice and watermelon. She did not like mashed potatoes, red sausages and spicy soup did not work either.

There are a lot of people, at the beginning of the meal there are queues, but not critical, you just need to find your own time of arrival. The staff works quickly, once I found fragments in the washed dishes.
I can’t say that sanitary standards are observed impeccably, but, thank God, there were no poisonings. I cannot but repeat once again that despite this very pleasant atmosphere in the dining room, it is clear that the staff is trying with all their heart and working conscientiously, but there is not enough control and quality standards. You can safely bring food into the room, leave and return, no one is watching this. Drinking water bottles are always available everywhere.

ANIMATION

Animations for children, consider, no. Stories about the kids club and programs on the Internet are exaggerated. There is a children's club room, there are workers, but there is no work as such. That is, if you come to the kids club at a certain time, you may be lucky enough to sit there to draw, and if the child does not speak English, they will generally answer you - sorry, only English. I have not seen any programs with children in the pool for 2 weeks even once.
Evenings there is a 15-minute children's disco that makes you believe you're in a Groundhog Day movie. But the pools are not bad, the children are happy to swim and play. There are 2 slides that work alternately. There is no playground for children, except for a playground for a plastic slide and a swing in the corners from the stage for the very young. TV channels for children only in Turkish.

As for adult animation, you can still smile during the day when different uncles and aunts dive for spoons, fitness in the pool also takes place in the morning and volleyball in the afternoon, that's all. After the children's disco, an entertainment program takes place on the stage, to be honest, complete nonsense, most often it was karaoke with the song Battery 3 times a night, at 23.00 everyone is taken to Marmaris to the Arena Club. In general, do not count on animation.

Summing up, I can say that in general the atmosphere in the hotel is very pleasant, the audience is diverse, but at the same time everyone gets along very well, there is no lawlessness. Here are Europeans, and Turks, and Russians, and children, and old people, and youth. The managers and other staff of the hotel are trying very hard (I will delete the resettlement employee from their list) and they are trying from the bottom of their hearts, but they do not reach 5 stars, nevertheless. Here, rather, it's not about the staff, but about financial investments in the hotel, which do not correlate with the profit of the hotel, and someone's greed. The problem with the hotel is that it positions itself as 5 stars at 4 star prices, thereby attracting the public, but then gets an angry reaction from half of this public because of not matching expectations with reality. However, if the hotel assigns itself 4 stars, then it will not receive such a number of guests. Double-edged sword. The hotel has some cleanliness issues. Food and animation are not pretentious. Great location.
