We arrived early in the morning on 07/02/2016, but check-in is only at 14.00. You can try to negotiate with the hotel manager, he speaks English. The hotel staff does not speak Russian.
When checking out, we were asked to hand over the remotes from the air conditioner and TV. Grab it so you don't come back. Would it be more logical to ask for towels?
About the location of the Sonnen hotel, the beach and the sea.
The hotel is located in the middle of the Marmaris promenade, which is very convenient, you can walk everywhere. To the sea - 100m, the hotel is just behind the two-story restaurant on the waterfront.
Marmaris hotels do not have their own beaches, with the exception of a few hotels on the outskirts.
There are NO beach towels either. Take it with you, or you can buy it for 20 lira (7.14 dollars).
All beaches are rented by bars and restaurants. You can lie on a sun lounger under an umbrella for free, but the waiter will offer to buy a drink for this. The cost is 10-16 liras (3.6-5.7 dollars).
If you go to the embankment and go to the right of 100 meters, then behind the Pukka restaurant there will be a small free municipal beach.
If you go left along the embankment towards the port, then in five minutes you will come to a very large municipal beach. There are no sun loungers and umbrellas, but there are civilian toilets and showers.
The water in Marmaris and Icmeler never warms up above 23 degrees due to the huge number of mountain springs that flow into the sea. Although the air temperature reached 42, I could not go into the sea - it was very cold!
The entrance to the sea is rocky, but the stones are smooth. It is more comfortable to go in special shoes. The sand is gray in color, so the sea seems black.
