Hello everyone, I want to share my impressions. I was in Turkey at the end of June 2009, the airport was Dalaman, the city was Marmaris, the hotel was Lydia. I go abroad every year. But! First time in 4 stars, Crisis.... I was looking for an inexpensive and more or less decent vacation. I rummaged through the Internet, I agreed to rest in our south. But Sochi, Crimea and Abkhazia disappeared by themselves - expensive. No, of course, if you are ready to come to the sea - to look for housing, clean up and cook on your own, then you can relax with your family for $ 1, with the road. But my daughter and I work too much and we did not want to surround ourselves with domestic problems on vacation.
In past years, my daughter and I spent on vacation from 4 thousand dollars a week, this year finances "sang romances. " Reviews about the hotel are too contradictory, so I was VERY worried! It turned out that the devil is not so terrible!
Marmaris was chosen because of the proximity of Pamukkale, I really wanted to go there. Impression - beautiful, grandiose,

but expected more. But I really liked Cleopatra's pool, I sat there for 2 hours, while our group went to see the ruins. Well, in recent years I have seen enough of the ruins in Turkey, and in Egypt and in Europe, in the shade of +38, in the sun almost 60, so there was simply no desire to wander through the ancient stones. I liked the trip very much. Firstly: To Dalaman - departure from Sheremetyevo, there are fewer flights, fewer people and as a result - no delays with departure. Departed, arrived - on time. Tour operator - Riviera Intourist. GOOD FELLOWS. Greetings to our guides - Anna and Elena. The city of Marmaris is clean, pleasant and very cheerful. There is a street of bars - a paradise for party-goers. The tour operator provides a bus to the hotel at 11 pm and takes you to have fun, takes you to a certain bar, they even give you a coupon for 1 free drink (of your choice). At 3 am, all their tourists are picked up and taken to the hotel. All this is absolutely free, well, not counting the baksheesh to the driver.
Moreover, it is absolutely not necessary to sit in one bar all this time - you can go to any - have fun, dance, pay only for drinks, food, a comfortable table. The main thing is to return to the right bar on time and leave with your bus, otherwise you will have to get to the hotel - by taxi, at least $ 20. About the hotel: The location is convenient, the sea is 20 meters away. We got a very good room, on the first floor, respectively, two entrances - from the hotel corridor and from the street. Cleaning service (with tips left) is quite decent, not perfect, but clean. The bar is also 20 meters away, so there was no need to take tables at the bar, in the evenings we sat on the terrace - very convenient. By the pool (it is one and small) sunbeds and mattresses are free, but there are practically no places. On the beach sunbeds - free of charge, mattresses - for a fee. Towels are free, it's better to bring your own. Many Turks (wives, mothers, children) rest in the hotel - they do not disdain.
For such modest money (we bought a ticket for 30 thousand rubles - for two) it's very decent. Food - quite, but there is nothing for gourmets to do there, you can feel the austerity regime. Water - in coolers (we are used to bottles), jams, butter, mayonnaise - in large salad bowls (again, we are used to portioned ones - you can drag it with you to your room. ) It's useless to drag something into the room anyway, the refrigerator is not works. At the reception they explained that this is not a refrigerator, but a cooling box. That is, drinks after lying there for several hours will be a little cooler. You won’t wait for ice and I don’t advise storing food in it - it goes out instantly. The mode of taking food is very tough - you can’t be late - there will be nothing to eat - they will collect it. Arriving once 10 minutes before the end of dinner, we grabbed food almost on the fly - the waiters are the first to remove full trays, because they make salads from meat, fish and other things not eaten at lunch. Wild abundance of dishes, of course,
there wasn’t (and one must understand that the cuisine is peculiar there), but they didn’t go hungry and there were no poisonings (in the hotel restaurant). Our neighbor ended up in the hospital with poisoning, but she bought food on the street, moreover she put it in the "refrigerator" and ate it 6-8 hours later - at night, returning from the street of bars. Young people do not spend money there at all. They drink in the hotel bar until 11 pm, then they get on the free bus, they come to the bar and just dance and have fun, buying a free wheelbarrow without buying ANYTHING. The only negative is that after 5 hours of active rest - you want to eat!

Speaking of the hospital. The Riviera Intourist has an agreement with the MayDay clinic, if you have health problems, you inform your guide, he calls the clinic, they send a car from there, deliver it to the reception, provide assistance and take it to the hotel by car. Everything is covered by insurance. It is very valuable and pleasant. It took us - the daughter slipped and hit, it was necessary to exclude dislocation and fracture.
We appreciated! Other operators do not have anything like this, if something happens to you, you will have to call Antalya, Istanbul or even Moscow. It took us 2 hours to visit the clinic, this was with a complaint to the guide, dear, filling out the necessary documents for the clinic, tense (very unwilling to pay insurance compensation) negotiations with a Russian insurance company (from the clinic’s phone), and a very courteous, attentive and polite reception doctor, as well as first aid.
Animation at the hotel, to put it mildly - unobtrusive, but still exists. There is no mini club for children, so you won’t be able to fuse a child - you need to choose a more expensive hotel. But for such little money (we spent: a ticket + a road trip from and to Moscow, + excursions, entertainment and souvenirs - 60 thousand rubles for two) in 8 days 7 nights. This is not the limit, it can be more economical. Girls from a 3-star hotel went on an excursion with us. Vouchers - almost for nothing, the street of bars - nearby.
There are only 6 tourists in the hotel - they are surrounded by attention and care.
People! If you are not spoiled, not prone to grumbling and squabbles, if you want to have a normal rest for modest money - I recommend it!
