Marmaris is a wonderful place to stay in Turkey.
The Ideal Premium Hotel is good on its own. Everything is clean and tidy. The food is good.
But! I advise you to know some features in advance in order to be prepared for surprises.
ROOM.
They settled on the fifth floor. The room is a small garret, with a slanting ceiling, against which the head constantly stumbles. The room warms up from the roof so that it is impossible to be in the room without air conditioning at full capacity.
When asked to change the room, they said to come tomorrow morning. Tomorrow they answered that now is a Muslim holiday and a free room will be no earlier than in three days.
Three days later they asked me to come back tomorrow. In response to our insistence, they transferred us to a room on the first floor. First floor, great room, spacious. But, the balcony goes directly to the speakers near the pool. It cannot be expressed in words - from ten in the morning until eleven in the evening the skull shudders from a powerful subwoofer and hysterical screams of animators. After eleven at night - a noisy party under the night bar right up to the morning call of the mullah for prayer. The only way to escape is to run to the beach.
BEACH.
The travel agent (probably unknowingly) assured us that the hotel was 100 meters from the beach. In fact, it turned out that the sea is over 300 meters, but the beach where we are allowed to sunbathe is 1000 meters away and belongs to the Ideal Praym Hotel.
You need to go to the sea through the front hall of the reception, go along the sidewalk of the main road and then to the beach. So, every time in full dress (not in a bathing suit), they went to the beach and back.
The beach is poorly cleaned. The beds are always dirty. Cigarette butts and other waste of Soviet tourists for the entire time of our holiday were cleaned very superficially once. Sunbeds must be reserved before 9-00, then it will be too late. So we walked two kilometers before breakfast to the reservation, after - to swim. Road to lunch, and all over again.
