We rested with a friend in this wonderful hotel with magnificent nature, amazing views and gentle sea on 12 days of June. We chose the hotel not by chance, we really wanted a calm and comfortable stay (after mass tourism in hotels in the Side region. And everything would be fine, but ...but the inaccuracy in booking the room category spoiled our first and last day of stay. Who is responsible for this (tour operator, travel agent or hotel) is still being investigated.
upon arrival at the hotel, after an hour or two of waiting, we, exhausted by a sleepless night and a long transfer, were given the keys to the room, loaded the luggage into the club car and we went to check in. Upon arrival at the room (No. 508), we were shocked to say the least by the presence in the room of one double bed (French bed) with a common blanket and linens!
Naturally, I went to the reception and asked for a room with separate beds, as ordered, since we are not a married couple, we have a traditional orientation : -) and a significant difference in age (more than 20 years), which absolutely excludes rest in shared bed! At the reception, I was asked to provide a voucher, which indicated the double room standard category, which in this hotel only means the presence of a french bed (how do we know this? ), which they provided us, and there can be no other options. To receive separate beds, it is necessary to indicate in the voucher exactly the hotel category of the room "twin double room standard".

Outraged by this situation and the attitude of the hotel staff, I had to call back the director of the travel agency in Kyiv, where we are regular customers and where we purchased this tour, who promised to look into the situation, since there was still a requirement for separate beds when booking. As a result of further proceedings, the representative of the hotel Irina (guest relations) called us back and offered, as an option, to provide us with a higher category room with sea view and twin beds for an additional fee of 12 Euro / day. Of course, we agreed, and the forces were already running out. The first day of rest at sea was ruined. A club car immediately arrived and moved us along with our belongings to room 613, which was slightly higher than our previous room, had separate beds, but otherwise was absolutely no different from our previous room - the same standard.
Calling back the director of our travel agency in Kyiv and explaining the situation, I was instructed not to sign anything and not to pay anything extra. The next day, at a meeting with TUI hotel guides, I asked again if the hotel's demands for additional payment were legitimate. It turned out that almost all the rooms here are "standard" and everywhere there is a sea view to one degree or another, and we are not required to pay anything extra. We relaxed and then had a calm and pleasant stay, which fully met our expectations, despite the rather difficult distances over rough terrain with overcoming the numerous multi-level stairs of the hotel territory. But as a physical activity, it's not bad at all.
Day 12: we left the hotel early in the morning and, of course, arrived with luggage in advance to check out at the reception in order to pay for the use of the safe and wait for the arrival of our bus to the airport. It wasn't here. The duty officer at the reception, glancing at the computer. , began to insistently demand payment for relocation from us ("upselling" is a very tricky terminology when naming a service in a receipt (preserved)). Then all sorts of other managers available at this early hour were involved, including on the phone, who, putting pressure on us correctly and not very much, tried to convince us to pay for this service, assuring us, as imbeciles, in a higher class of the provided room with separate beds and sea view, up to the threat from front manager Ali to call the police, with which we agreed.
All this blackmail lasted more than an hour, our bus with absolutely incompetent and useless TUI representatives arrived a long time ago, and the proceedings continued. In the end, I was forced to call the director of a travel agency in Kyiv at 6 in the morning. On his instructions, and in order not to be late for the flight, we were forced to pay a pool of 180 USD (144 Euros) (which, however, might not have been, and what then? ), which were returned to us upon our return to Kyiv. So we turned out to be hostages of a situation that arose either as a result of either someone's mistake, or the completely purposeful installation of the hotel staff, to "fuck" tourists (mostly Russian-speaking) in their own interests at any opportunity, which is quite obvious. If the room was really as promised, there would definitely not be any objections to payment from our side. Thus, this extremely unpleasant incident greatly spoiled the generally positive opinion about the hotel.

I hope our bitter experience will help future guests of this hotel to carefully consider the category when booking a room (see voucher) and relax in Suntopia Marmaris only with pleasure.
