In September 2010, I was vacationing with my wife and child at the Laphetos Beach Resort & Spa 5 * hotel in Turkey in the area between Side and Alanya.
To begin with, before going on vacation to this hotel, we read reviews about it. We decided that the negative reviews about the Laphetos Beach Resort & Spa 5 * hotel were exaggerated, or written by competitors or fastidious tourists. The dishes in the main restaurant are really dirty and are regularly lacking. a couple of times I had to drink tea in the main restaurant from disposable cups. Dirty dishes are not removed from the tables in a timely manner, there are not enough paper napkins and the tablecloths laid on the tables were often dirty. and a lot of people accumulate behind them. There are two additional restaurants on the territory of the hotel: Ocean and Sultan, which you can visit once during your stay, but what happens in them is simply ridiculous.
BEACH :
The biggest disappointment is, of course, the beach. It's just awful. Let's start with the fact that there is rubbish everywhere on the beach (disposable cups, plates, cigarette butts). Nobody cleans up this rubbish on the beach. and walking on it is not pleasant, especially when entering the sea. The entrance to the sea is quite sharp, already deep at a distance of 2-3 meters, so children need to be monitored more carefully. The bar on the beach constantly lacks plastic glasses and therefore only beer is poured into them, and all soft drinks are poured into disposable cups, which are scattered all over the beach. When asked to pour soft drinks into normal glasses, the bartender, with an unhappy look, begins to argue and be rude . It is simply not possible to enter the toilets on the beach because of the puddles on the floor and the disgusting smell. In the reviews, we read about the sewer pipe going into the sea from the beach toilets and showers, but naturally we did not believe this. The pipe is really buried in the center of the beach. It is not visible on the catfish beach, but if you put on diving glasses or a mask and dive under the water, you can see how it lies along the bottom of the sea pressed by concrete blocks.
