We were in Turkey with two children 15 and 5 years old. At first, they doubted for a long time whether it was worth going to Turkey. But, the eldest son, inspired by the national hero Ataturk, the ancient history of this country, architectural monuments and beautiful nature, helped determine our choice. For a long time we chose a hotel and a place where we could have a budget vacation with children. We chose Side and the Melissa Garden Apart Hotel, read the reviews, they were almost all good. Considering themselves unpretentious, tolerant people, despite the fact that it was a three-star hotel, they decided to take a ticket for 11 nights through the tour operator TEZ Tour. We arrived at the place at about 20.30, at the reception we were met by a Russian-speaking employee of the hotel Georgiy, a Georgian by nationality, a very good person, helped to carry things to the room, invited us to dinner.

We quickly packed up and rushed off to grab something to eat as dinner was nearing completion.

Imagine our amazement when in the food zone we saw three completely empty containers for food, several half-empty dishes with chopped vegetables and a plate with a mountain filled with hot capsicum! This was our first disappointment. We realized that here we will most likely be hungry ...

Returning to our room, we examined it: the room is quite large - a living room with two sofas, combined with a kitchen, where there is a refrigerator, an electric scarf! electric kettle! set of tableware, frying pan and saucepan! (you can cook and eat! - note - the ALL INCLUSIVE holiday has begun! ) and a bedroom with one double bed and a baby cot. The air conditioner is very old and noisy, but it works! But this was just a small plus of this room.
As people who understand the service of Turkish troikas from numerous reviews, we were set only to relax and receive positive emotions, we were glad for any positive moments. The first night, despite the flight and fatigue, we spent just terribly: the windows of our room overlooked a noisy street - tightly closed windows and balcony doors did not save: until the morning the noise of moving cars and for some reason the long-drawn-out honking and drunken cries of vacationers in a tavern under the windows ...After a few days, we got used to the noise outside the window and from the bar of our hotel ...and began to live on.

The air conditioner was not very well located on the wall and only cooled one room, it was very stuffy in the bedroom. On top of that, it dripped and in the morning there was a huge puddle on the concrete floor. We were ready to ask for another number...But with hopes, throughout the whole time we left "money" for the staff in the hope that the problem would be fixed.
So we lived with a basin under the air conditioner all the time of the rest, although several times they still tried to eliminate the problem, we saw this by the abundance of dirty marks in the room. There were no light bulbs in the room, there were very dirty curtains, old furniture, there was not even a hair dryer, I’m not talking about the presence of WI-FI ...

Going down to breakfast with a drooping mood, that, probably, we will not see anything good here ...

A "chic" breakfast was waiting for us: boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs with tomatoes and several dishes with vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, olives. Among such an "abundance and variety" of food, we found what to eat and went to get acquainted with our guide.

Our guide's name was Said. The guide turned out to be a decent Meskhetian Turk, who speaks good Russian, explained that it’s not worth renting a car in these parts, because the fines are very high, and the locals violate traffic rules very much and in disputable situations, the tourist, as a rule, remains to blame ...
and the basic rules of conduct in the hotel; changed the currency to local lira and offered a tour with a visit to a mosque and shops with a leather and textile focus; gave his phone number and throughout our stay on vacation was available and answered our calls.

Lunch turned out to be very strange for us. Approaching the three containers in which the leftovers from breakfast were sour, we thought it was too early for lunch, sat on the chairs and began to study the menu. Several waiters hurried up to us, fussily laying out cutlery and in Turkish English, asking if we had chosen something or not. We showed our bracelets and asked if there would be lunch? Dinner was brought to us for four, without a choice, of course.
After that, none of the waiters showed any interest in us anymore, to say the least, disdainfully: in the bar, on the territory of the hotel, we were systematically asked what room we were from (although we did not take off our bracelets during the entire stay), something then found out by suspending the service.

At the bar, waiting for drinks had to spend up to ten minutes, although there were never any queues. A separate line deserves what was offered as drinks:
- there was an apparatus with orange, pineapple, cherry "juice", from which it was impossible to drink any, because this apparatus was refueled apparently by the contents after rinsing the glasses of guests who bought drinks for money ...
- in the bar you could take Cola and lemonade (incomprehensible taste). From alcoholic drinks there was only white wine, red is always hot, beer.

Beer, I must say, in the vast majority of cases, was of disgusting quality. It was poured from crumpled plastic bottles with peeled labels, how this drink got into these bottles is known only to representatives of this hotel. With those guests with whom we had to talk, we agreed that the beer we were offered expired: the color, smell and precipitation indicated this.

There was no animation for children at all, with the exception of the included slide, sometimes more than the time indicated on the plate.

HOPE to rest did not leave us! Pleased with the weather, warm sea and the opportunity to spend a two-week vacation in the warmth. So throughout the vacation, we tried to find some positive moments of the holiday, but unfortunately, we were in for a complete disappointment ahead ...

The apogee of all our "rest" was the conflict situation, immediately before the departure.
August 09 at about 11:00 am. 50m. , as expected, we handed over the keys to the room at the reception and went to rest on the sun loungers located in the hotel, since the departure from the hotel was scheduled for 18h. 25m. , and earlier Mr. Said explained to us that we have the right to use the hotel services (food, drinks, swimming pool) until the moment of departure. Approximately at 17h. 30m. the husband asked the eldest son to take us four drinks (COLA) to drink before leaving. Further, in his words, he was refused an order, motivated by the fact that you can only order one glass at a time. He said okay and started ordering glasses one by one and bringing them to the table.

After the third glass, a man came out from behind the bar counter, who later called himself “The Boss” (I think his name is Mahmud), started shouting, waving his arms and demanding that we get out of the hotel (the youngest son is 5 years old, the temperature outside 36°C).

We told him that we would be forced to report the situation to the TEZ TOUR company, after that he began to shout that he didn’t care, you can even write to Putin himself, he didn’t care about TEZ TOUR (he actively accompanied his entire tirade with a wave of his hands, name-calling in Turkish English and threats against us, surrounding ourselves with hotel workers). Naturally, for safety reasons, we had to leave the hotel grounds and go to the reception for our suitcases, from where we called the hotel guide Said and explained the situation. Since the time was approaching the departure, he advised not to contact these people, but to write a letter to the TEZ TOUR company. Then the hotel representative attacked the eldest son with scissors, began to grab his hands and tried to cut off the bracelet from his hand, after which we were forced to go outside and wait for our bus in the heat and without drinking.
