Our family loves Turkey and we vacation here every year, usually at the beginning of summer, but the current situation with the global pandemic deprived us of the opportunity to relax last year... So from the beginning of the year we began to dream about the seas, but even in May the situation was unclear - charters did not fly, there were few offers, and prices were biting. We chose the hotel ourselves, reading the reviews and based on our tastes. We successfully caught a discount on the hotel and, having convinced ourselves of the prospect of opening charters, purchased a tour. Thanks to our HT. KZ representative Gulmira, who worked with us!
We rested from June 21 to July 1.2021, four of us - me, my husband, sons 13 and 15 years old. The meeting party - "ANEX Tour", provided a minibus, in which only we went to the hotel! We got to the hotel at 11:15, at the entrance to the hotel we measured the temperature. The check-in was very fast, as there were no other tourists at the reception. They asked for a quieter room, on the quiet side, they treated me to a bar of chocolate and eventually got a room overlooking the small pool and the Grand Seker Hotel. It was really quiet here and the music from the large pool did not reach us. We took the Family room, it consists of two rooms. The rooms are a little tired, but everything worked - 2 air conditioners, a hairdryer, a refrigerator and a TV. Safe is paid, immediately paid for the entire stay. The closet is quite roomy, there are enough hangers. Upon check-in, there were only slippers, towels and water in the mini-bar, shampoo and soap in dispensers and that's it. Of course, the lighting was lame, but by the way, like everywhere else in Turkish hotels... The balcony is roomy, with a table and two chairs.
Cleaning is quite satisfactory, linen was changed 4 times in 11 days of stay! Towels were changed daily, water was also supplied to the minibar every day.

The contingent of vacationers is couples with children, mainly from Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe, as well as locals, no offense to say, very noisy! ))
The hotel guide from Anex Tour - Salahaddin, quite a pleasant person, not very annoying with his excursions, really helped on many issues and responded to the problems of tourists. This is me to the fact that in the past years, very negative reviews went to the guides from Anex...
Go to the sea through the gate at the small pool or through the main entrance along the road along the shops 650 meters, 5-7 minutes. The road did not bother us at all, it was even beneficial after hearty meals. The sea itself is fabulous, the sand and gentle sunset just delight the eye! You can watch small fish near the shore... Free sunbeds helped to find a smiling uncle who always tried to please vacationers. By the way, beach towels are issued every day in the SPA area on the -1 floor, in the evening they rented them there until 19-00.
In general, they were satisfied with the food. There are no special frills to be found here, but in general it is satisfying and tasty. For breakfast, they fried omelettes, scrambled eggs, waffles, pancakes, donuts, there were always vegetables and eggs in variations, the buns are really not enough compared to other "fives", but that's not the point. From fruits - apples, delicious pears, grapefruits, oranges and watermelons. When we arrived, there were few people and a lot of things were cut and the employee kindly put food on plates, but due to the influx of tourists, the hotel apparently decided to give us the opportunity to serve ourselves. In general, this is true, otherwise there would be hellish lines for food!

We dined mostly by the sea, in a bar on the beach, there was always a grill, they cooked burgers, several types of side dishes and great pizza! Fruits and sweets were also present. Sometimes we dined at the hotel, the assortment is basically the same, but gozleme was also baked nearby. Dinners are traditionally more varied, a lot of grill, side dishes, vegetables, sweets and most importantly, ice cream was always served for dinner! In the evenings she loved to taste fish, there was often trout, but a couple of times there were steaks, although a queue accumulated behind them. As for coffee, there are machines all around, but cappuccino is not always tasty, but espresso and choco-milk are quite! There was alcohol, my husband drank Troy beer, he says it’s rather weak, but it will do. I drank brought cognac with cola and sometimes local Baileys in the lobby, not bad with ice. Separately, I’ll tell you about the bartender in the lobby, his name is Jihan, a rather harmful and arrogant type with a vile laugh, in addition to everything else, he is also left-handed, he always dropped something, once he even fell himself! He tries to do his job effectively, but he fails and that's it! But the boy Davut was just a sweetheart, he worked both at breakfast and at lunch in a bar by the sea and in the evening in a restaurant, always with a smile and mood, he entertained tourists with a bang! So everywhere there are enough good and bad ones . . In general, the staff is friendly, at the reception they understand Russian and English quite well. We once had a problem with the drain in the bathroom, they fixed it quickly.
But with the Internet in the hotel straight trouble! Free wi-fi is rather weak, only enough for whatsapp and then, it hung constantly, no speed. The reception is better in the lobby, but it was on and off in the rooms until my husband, an engineer by profession, went himself and rebooted the switch to which the Wi-Fi access points were connected! (If you have a problem again, then go to the reception, ask to restart the switch in the technical room to the left of room 2101). Paid Internet is unreasonably expensive, 13 euros for one device for a week - it seems that we were told so...
Regarding entertainment, the hotel had a team of two girls - Lena and Yana and young people - Memo and Bilyal. The guys tried with might and main, but they frankly lacked a few more to help. Lena led yoga and morning exercises, Yana was busy with water aerobics and volleyball, and both of them were water polo. The girls are cheerful and sociable, we even became friends with them! Special thanks to you for our wonderful vacation and greetings from Kazakhstan!! ! But the audience in the hotel is all family and quite heavy on the rise, so, for example, yoga, I went alone, sometimes 1-2 more people and that's it !! ! Evening entertainment was also, but not for long, as there were quarantine time limits. Mini disco for children and evening performances interspersed with amateur performances and imported artists.
The location of the hotel itself is very good. The place is one hundred percent safe, as it is located next to the local gendarmerie, where, by the way, everyone goes to take pictures next to the star and crescent! Just below the hotel there is a street with a bunch of shops, and in the distance there are several large bazaars and shopping centers, which is also not unimportant, you don’t even have to go to Manavgat, you can buy everything nearby! This year I found a lot of shoes and leather goods at very reasonable prices! The lira sank specifically, and the season is not so good, so the sellers were willing to give in, the main thing is to bargain! But there are not so many textiles, but I still found bed linen at a good price in a store on the way to the beach!

Near the hotel is the final stop of the dolmush, so we swept comfortably to the old town of Side, paying $ 1 per person. In dolmush everyone wears masks and this is the only place where we used them! Apollo Temple was visited more than once, which was a pleasant surprise, as it was an updated road to the ruins themselves from the stop, it was paved with tiles, it became very beautiful! There is also shopping there and I bought two pairs of leather flip flops there at the lowest price, bargained desperately!
By the way, "Sultan of Side" itself is surrounded by non-poor hotels, which significantly increases its status! Yes, and he himself inside and outside looks quite presentable. For comparison, we thought about the hotel "Seher Resort & SPA", even walked to it, but did not regret choosing our hotel! There, the hotel itself is more modest and the location by the river and the beach are worse...
In general, we spent our vacation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, walked a lot, went to the sea 2 times a day, talked with people. Therefore, the impressions were positive! Yes, the hotel has some minor drawbacks, but we knew about them and they did not overshadow our holiday!
Would we go to the Sultan of Side again? I think it's quite possible!
