Turkey Autumn and New Year 2013
I was in Turkey in Side in a small local hotel Sevil Hotel in the center of the town, 5 minutes from the beach, the ruins of the Temple of Apollo and shopping streets for the November holidays - October 30-November 7. The sea is excellent. The sun was shining, I was swimming. But a week earlier - in October - they had a storm. Rain all week. . i. e. I was lucky. So in October-November you can not guess with the weather. But the sea is warm and if there is sun, then immediately sunbathe and swim. I was the same in December 1-5 December. It was already cold in the evenings. Rain. Windy. Although out of 5 December days - there were walks along the beach, and coffee in a cafe on the waterfront, and a trip to Manavgat to the bazaar. But by the evening it was already dull. There are not many tourists at all. But the smell of smoke from samovars with tea mixed with salty sea moist air, look at Turkish people on vacation (and not inviting you and trying to sell something), try fresh pita bread and sleep to the sound of rain in Turkey - you can only in December. This is a completely different Turkey. Without crowds of tourists, without fuss and heat. The coast is calm and quiet. You can see all the ruins of Side. Quietly go to the market in Manavgat. Walk along the beach, breathe in the sea air. In the evening, sit down in a quiet Turkish cafe in the Liman (portico) area with a real fireplace - warm yourself by a live fire, drink Turkish coffee, sitting on low sofas covered with Turkish cotton rugs. Slowly eat grilled sea bass, drink tea from a tulip cup. For the New Year, I bought a tour to the 5 * Crystall Sunrise Queen hotel. 3 km to Side, in the village of Kumkoy. A good alternative to the Podmoskovny rest house. Hammam, saunas, heated indoor pool, excellent food. The child is happy, the mother is rested. Everyone has changed the scene. Were 1 week. Gala dinner at the hotel. Nothing remarkable. 95% German older couples. But this did not bother us and did not interfere, we rested with our family. Again, we went to the market for fresh fruits and spices, sat in Manavgat in a cafe by the river. Walked along the beach to Side. It only rained at night. Cloudy during the day, bright sun for 2 days. It warmed up to 24C', on average +17-20 during the day. In the evening +11C'. A week of rest from the snow, Turkish pastries, lamb, fruit is a great option. For the money - almost like in the suburbs. We liked everything. The hotel itself is nothing, for 4. It will be partially renovated for the new season. The rooms and the interior decoration show that the time has come for decoration, but not shabby. The food and chef is excellent. The location is good - along the coast about 30-40 minutes to Side on foot. It's nice to walk along the beach, along the alley. By bus - 10 min. We were also advised the Paloma Oceana hotel - a new renovated one. The reviews are very very good. There, too, about 10 Russian people rested for the New Year.
