Sorry in advance for the long story. And now, in order, choosing this hotel, we were guided by a good rating, reviews and photos on Booking. Despite the fact that in connection with New Year's Eve (from 29.12. 21 to 07.01. 22) we had to overpay, we did not forget that after all we were not flying to the richest country! But what we saw immediately upon check-in shocked and spoiled the impression from the first seconds! My husband and I were placed in a room approximately 3 m by 4 m (including a combined shower, toilet and washbasin) with no doors between this unfurnished room and a room without a window (on the video you can see the windows in the bathroom and these are all sources of sunlight), with yellow mold on wall and the corresponding smell of mold + cigarettes! (A video of mold and undercooked is attached).

The request to move us (not forgetting to offer a surcharge), we were denied!

While we were trying to get what was stated in the sources and what was paid for, it turned out that the discrepancy between the photo and reality is explained by the fact that we were settled not in the paid Tropicana Beach, but in the neighboring "barrack" called Tropicana Garden, while, at every step they tried to convince us that this is one network and, we are indignant in vain!

After talking with our guide Alexander, we were moved to a larger room in the same barrack next door, already with a window, but without glass? ? ? ? . And they promised to prepare a room in Tropicana Beach (as the room was, but due to the fact that it is constantly flooded with rain through the unfinished floors !!! , everything is also moldy there and plastering and painting of the ceiling is required).
A few words about our room (where we were moved after the first "nightmare") - a double bed, a shelf (not a closet), 2 wicker chairs and 2 wicker tables (with rusty nails), air conditioning (does not cope with its task during the daytime), fan and iron (with a regular plug), but the sockets are all of the English standard.

I had to strain a little more to get an adapter, and then it became clear that due to the influx of a large number of vacationers who decided to celebrate New Year's Eve in an exotic country, the hotel could not cope and even basic things were missing, including sometimes food! ! ! !
There were 3 cleanings in 9 days, despite the fact that the guys in the main and new buildings did it every day ...On the 3rd day we went to ask for cleaning ourselves, and somewhere in the middle of the rest it turned out that they did not have a second key, so in order for us to be cleaned, we need to leave the key at the reception (despite the fact that my husband and I are both English-speaking, we had to collect all the information bit by bit).

On the 5th day of our vacation, after 2 approaches to repairing the ceiling in the promised room, unfortunately, the smell of mold did not go away, we had to stay in the old room, because we did not want to earn health problems for ourselves.

All these days, our guides tried to accustom us to the thought: “What did you expect? … This is Zanzibar! . . ".

No sound arguments about the mismatch of the number with the declared photo and some criteria of stardom did not work at all!


In response, they answered us (a quote from another Anex Tour guide - Maxim): “And why did you get the idea that there should be glass on the window in the Standard Room? ! ".
Perhaps this would not have been a big problem if it weren’t +30 outside the window, and under the windows there wasn’t a booth of locals who constantly hung out and smoked there, as well as daily garbage collection around 6:30 in the morning with appropriate smells and “musical” accompaniment (below the video, watch with sound! ).

But I must admit that in addition to the repaired ceiling in the promised room (now someone can probably live there), they installed glass in our room. That is, during our vacation, we were still foremen supervising the repair work! ! !
