We rested in November 2025. The Varadero Hotel is terrible. We have visited more than 30 countries, but we have never seen anything like it. The interior and exterior are from the 1980s in the Soviet Union. Let's start from the beginning. There is no room cleaning at all. Garbage disposal only upon request (during the day). Towels are not replaced. There are no beach towels. The bed is a masterpiece - made of bricks and a foam mattress (no joke). The Internet and Wi-Fi are very weak or absent altogether. From 6 pm to 10 pm every day the lights are turned off, and there is no generator in this hotel (or they simply do not turn it on), although there are some in the surrounding hotels. Breakfasts are monotonous every day (omelette, 2 pancakes, half a sausage, 2 toasts and a couple of pieces of fruit) and you have to wait 25-55 minutes for them.
Everything else - beach, nature, ocean, local flavor - is great! We had a great time! We recommend visiting the safari in Mikumi National Park (the cost is $450 for a guide, and $380 for a "street" person).
As a bonus, there are very few orcs/Muscovites.
We recommend the hotel 50 meters to the right, Villa Vanilla Kendwa 3*
