Upon arrival, we were met by two locals who do not speak Russian. One took us to the bus. This is where TROPIKAL Tours LTD fulfilled its function.

In Kyiv, we booked, paid for and received confirmation for La Fontana Bungalows (never took a three star hotel, but this time, unfortunately, it did). On the way to this hotel, we, the four lucky ones, were told that there were no seats there. The hotel La Fontana did not even want to talk to us about the settlement, explaining that our money from Join Up did not come to their account (!!! ). There was no hotel guide from Join Up ( Plan a vacation with Join-Up! ).
It was impossible to find out why confirmation was sent to us then.
Then we were taken to the Tropicana Kendwa Beach Hotel. (How did the money paid to one hotel end up in another ?! ). There was no hotel guide from Join Up either ( Plan a vacation with Join-Up! ). But there was a hotel guide from the Annex Tour named Rashid. But there were no seats in this hotel either. We were taken to the "branch" of this hotel Tropicana Villa. Do not try to search for his description on the Internet, you will not find. He's just gone! This house is half a kilometer from the main complex. Construction was going on there, workers were digging something, linen was being dried nearby. Of course, we refused to settle there.
Rashid had no business with us. We, from Join-Up with reliable partners of TROPIKAL Tours LTD, tired him out with our claims. He took us to death for 4 hours. Periodically disappearing and returning, he argued that this is a great hotel, that there are no more vacancies on the coast.
In the end, he told the truth: either settle where you were offered, or he will leave now, and leave us the opportunity to solve our own (!! ) problems.
Exhausted after 14 hours of flying, customs clearance and moving to Kendwa, hungry, mad with heat, mad with meeting with reliable partners of TROPIKAL Tours LTD , after 4 hours of negotiations with Rashid < > we were forced to settle in this incomprehensible "hotel" of an even lower level, without a reception, without Wi-Fi, refrigerator, soap-making accessories, where the safe did not work. Almost on the construction site, next to the drying laundry on the ropes (see photo).
For breakfast and dinner we went to the main hotel (half a kilometer, remember? ). The food corresponded to the three stars of the hotel. Portions are small, but if you want supplements, you could go again.
Half a kilometer for breakfast in the morning is not so scary.
Almost a kilometer from the beach to the "hotel" in the sun (we arranged a siesta in the heat), dusty trails, called roads, is already stressful. And in the evening, after dinner, in the dark, on the road, in the dust, across the village with groups of children demanding "1 dollar in your bag" and calling for a taxi ride, these half kilometers seemed endless.
With any household request, you could only contact the reception (half a kilometer, remember? ). For example, we come to the room, and there is a towel - one, a sheet - one, no light, air conditioning and fan do not work. Then there are two options: go half a kilometer in the heat (or at night) to the main building and talk about problems, risking a "myocardial infarction", or say your favorite Zanzabar hakuna matata (no problem) and rely on the will of the Lord. And there were similar problems every day! ! !
The Tropicana’s beach is a fenced-in passage on both sides through numerous shops to the ocean. Three pairs of sunbeds near these fences. Only lovers of saunas and steam rooms can lie there. Then there are two options: take the sunbeds of other hotels (then they need to buy lunch or dinner), or a long time to walk along the shore to the overhanging rocks and hide from the sun.
Here is the beautiful nature, favorable weather, stunning palette of colors of the ocean, stunning sunsets, amazing excursions from Zanzi. Club , the local flavor is not pumped up! We saw all the sights that Zanzibar offers, except the safari on the mainland. Go again? Hardly ...
