Day 6. March 5

Almost half of the rest has already ended, and we have not rested at all yet. And we can only dream of peace - the Qatar airline suddenly decided that we need to pass tests in Zanzibar. It's a blessing that I was subscribed to a telegram group where doctors and teachers discussed free tickets and the changing rules of the action, and that's where I read that the rules have changed. You need to pass the test 96 hours before departure, so, counting 96 hours, we planned a trip to the hospital on March 8th. And although it’s much closer to go from Paje, you can’t pass the test a week before departure. Then I found out that this can be done in Zanzibar, where the test date for departure is rigged (now that may have already changed), but we still wouldn’t get to the capital that day.

Because, having driven not very far from Paje, we broke the wheel.

Neither we nor you would know what Kitogani is, if fate had not thrown it under our wheels, in the form of a pointed pit on seemingly safe asphalt.

And I'll tell you - what good people live in this village! They saw that the mzungu was in trouble and immediately came to the rescue. They came, made friends with us, jacked up the car, removed the wheel and took it to a tire shop. Did the tire fitters there, or something, dug this hole in the center of the village? )

But I got ahead of myself.

And you first imagine the picture:

Under the hot sun, drenched in sweat and adrenaline, remembering some mother, a large white man, with a red face and a wet back, is trying to jack up a big black SUV. . . and find a spare tire in the trunk (a separate story can be written about this) .

A cold makes him sick, stress makes him sick. Damn the day I sat down at the wheel of this vacuum cleaner.

I don’t understand these matters at all, I help as much as I can - I send him the coordinates so that he calls the rental company.

And then the local guys come up - can I help you?

Yes, of course!

The renter, thanks to him, responded immediately, and after ten or fifteen minutes a car with a boy who found us a spare tire drove up to us.

I haven't seen this before. He lifted the carpet in the trunk and twisted the levers. The wheel was attached to the bottom) But the spare tire was also cracked.

And by that time our wheel had already gone to the tire shop. The spare tire rolled there as well.

I've been sitting in a building that looks like a bus stop all this time, it's cool there. But for a stop, it was quite large in area and covered with election posters, I think it's a local club)

Therefore, I did not see the whole situation, but I realized that neither our wheel nor the spare tire could be done by the tire fitting.

The distributor called and offered to change the car.

We warmly said goodbye to the guys who helped us, and gave them, out of friendship, a portrait of an elephant, on a bill of 10.000 shillings, as a long memory.

Leaving the horse. Unloading our things.

Immediately, a car drove up and took us to the hotel. Also, the driver extorted a dozen from my husband for a gas station and promised that soon they would give us it and drive a new car, right to Miramont. As you already understood, half a tank of gasoline was left in the abandoned car, which no one reimbursed us. Or rather, he reimbursed later, but not with gasoline and not with money)

Matemwe (very conditional, maybe Pwani Michingani)

We liked Miramont Hotel very much! And if we take into account that it was the cheapest hotel and the room was with a sea view, then we can say that we were delighted. According to the plan, I was going to leave my things in the room or at the reception, if the room was not yet ready, and go to the beach, to Kendwa. But we didn’t have a car, and my husband was generally unable to go anywhere else.

The room was ready, they brought us things, asked if we liked the room. Like! Only the chairs on the balcony are flimsy, made of thin sticks. And my husband, we remember, is large.

About two minutes later, the manager came running and asked what exactly I didn't like. I say:

- Oh, I like everything! Just need a bigger and stronger chair.

She nodded to the two maids who were standing nearby, and they, without further ado, stole the sofa from the neighbors. Surprisingly, the neighbors did not show us)

My husband already had to go to bed, the cold was taking him apart more and more, and I went to look around.

Our building is three-story, facing the sea. Large swimming pool in front of the building, overlooking the sea. . .

. . . and another in the garden, surrounded by a bungalow.

There is a glass fence between the beach and sunbeds. There is a strong wind from the sea, and this fence allows you to bask in the sun for pleasure.

What surprised me - there are a lot of sunbeds, but everyone is busy. The sunbeds themselves are old, made of wood, the mattresses on them are also not young) But, in general, everything looks well-groomed.

The administration reacted quickly to overcrowding - in less than half a day, suspended double deck chairs appeared between the palm trees. Four pieces!

It was interesting to watch how these sun loungers were hung up. Two workers are slowly tying ropes to palm trees. The third sits down, lies down - tests. The fourth, apparently the manager, shoots it all on the phone. Well, it's nice to see))

In the pool, in the garden, it is especially pleasant to swim. Plants - directly Thailand. But there are few sunbeds.

Dining room overlooking the ocean. And the ocean is so!... Sit and cry with happiness)

I cried from both happiness and the rubber octopus. What a misfortune! He, of course, chewed, not like on the beach in Kizimkazi, but here the cook cooked. I hope)

Menu on the blackboard, chalk. Prices are average.

Tomato soup 3.5 dollars. It's hard to see from a distance, I read like 35. Wow - I think. What is this soup with?

And so I wanted it! )

Dollars? Soup price in dollars? I ask.

Dollars are written below, but here, just not.

– Yes, those are dollars.

- What kind of soup do you have? How can soup cost so much? It's very expensive!

The waiter just moved his shoulders.

I ordered an octopus for 10 (well, not 35! )) and I'm sitting looking at the ocean. And then it hits me. I go and take a picture of the menu and enlarge the picture. 3 dot 5!! )

I go to the waiter, I ask again, we both laugh and I also order tomato soup.

Remind me next time that I don't like tomato soups! )

I go out to the ocean. Beautiful. But sad.

The water is low. That is, neither ebb nor tide. It stands in a swamp - shallow, algae around, and in the algae, I suspect, hedgehogs live. Well, how to swim in this?

Three hours later they brought us a new car. It has gasoline, but not enough) Inside the car is not just dirty - it is covered with sand. And a lot of empty bottles. But it rides, it's a plus)

We didn't go anywhere that day. I swam in the pools, then in one, then in the second. So I love this garden! Also, yellow birds fly.

Until the evening she lay on the beach, tried to splash in the sea and lay again. I rested with all my might!

The beach is beautiful, reminded me of Lombok.

Our hotel is a vacationer's dream (I still don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about it).

My husband is not up to beauty. Lying in the room, coughing, sneezing and sad. But there is no temperature. I say - well, at least look out the window, how beautiful it is!

It's beautiful there. Now any cold is executionlife is over.

Even closed the curtains.

In the evening I pulled it out onto the balcony, enjoying a light tide and a refreshing breeze.

We turned on the lights in the pool - just wow! The backlight was all the colors of the rainbow, red was replaced by orange, yellow - green. The photo did not work))

But it's so beautiful!

Good thing we stayed here for 4 days!
