Pension Scarlet Sails for me personally is a sacred place. It was built in the late 1950s by the Fiolent plant in Simferopol. I was born in 1964, and since 1968 my father, a factory worker, took us there to rest every year, me, my brother and mother, only 14 times. There I learned to swim and snorkel, the happiest memories of my life are connected with this place. life. Recently I have rested there twice - in September 2017 and 2018.
In 2017, after a thirty-nine-year break, I decided to go there for a few days. Booked an economy room for september for one person. There are no single rooms there, if you go alone, you pay one and a half price. A very flexible approach to nutrition: you can choose three meals a day, two meals a day, one meal a day, or none at all. The boarding house has an informative website, constantly updated, where you can book rooms, pay for them, cancel your reservation and contact the staff.
I arrived in my own car, the parking lot at the boarding house is spacious - there is enough space for everyone. Moved into building 26 in a triple room. At that time, there was a promotion, but they didn’t take one and a half price from me, and therefore I didn’t fall under the action of the promotion, but on the whole I was satisfied - I counted on more expenses. The room has good furniture. The bed is comfortable, refrigerator, TV, fan, electric kettle. An important point - in the room there are windows on opposite walls, which allows you to arrange a draft. For me, in September, air conditioning is no longer needed in these parts, and at night - and a draft. Three-storey building: basement, first and second. The basement has one toilet, one sink and one shower. Taking into account the fact that 8 people can live in a room, I believe that there are few “comforts”. I lived all 5 days alone in the whole building. According to the administrator, the occupancy of the boarding house in September 2017 was 50% - 100 people, the most popular rooms are "comfort". I chose the room on the mountain on purpose: from there there is a very beautiful view of the sea and the coast; element of physical education.

The territory of the boarding house is fabulously good! It is replete with tropical plants, carefully groomed, there are comfortable paths, stairs, gazebos everywhere, there are two playgrounds. The boarding house stands in a narrow gorge, protected from all winds except the south. A beautiful embankment, a sports ground, the beach is not wide, located to the left of the pier, further along the embankment towards Solnechnogorsk - the territory of the MAI boarding house and its own beaches where you can swim and sunbathe. Even further - 3 kilometers of wild beaches to Solnechnogorsk. There are capes with a very beautiful bottom relief - a paradise for snorkelers and underwater photographers. On the territory there is a first-aid post, a playroom for children, a cinema where films are shown every evening, and on Saturdays some kind of ensemble comes. Meals in the dining room: in 2017, each vacationer was assigned to a place, in 2018 - sit down wherever you want, grab food as much as you want. The food is delicious and very varied, I believe that even dieters and vegetarians can eat there normally. BUT. In September 2018, when I went there with my wife for 6 days, on the third day I had a severe indigestion. The woman doctor I contacted said that there were already quite a lot of calls and suggested that the reason was an intestinal infection in sea water, aggravated by a catering place. The treatment took several days, which spoiled the holiday in September 2018.
As elsewhere in the Crimea, in the boarding house there is a person selling excursions, of which there are a great many, both by road and by sea. Those who go on an excursion can take food with them in the dining room, but for this you need to order dry rations in advance the day before. I liked the staff: friendly people, any issues are resolved quickly, the territory is clean and tidy. On the embankment there is a cafe where music plays, but not loudly and not for long. In general, this place is more suitable for adults with children. Young people can get bored there - there are no dances, discos, clubs and other attributes of modern "civilization" in the Scarlet Sails boarding house.
Wireless Internet is available throughout the boarding house, except for buildings 26.27 and 28. Although, in 2018 it may have been done there. The password is 1234567890. In September 2018, we took a “standard” room (that is, with all amenities, including air conditioning) in building 10. The room had some mistakes, but overall it was normal, everything worked, the bed was comfortable. However, there was still a fly in the ointment: the building was built on a sewer, the fan of the fan system was periodically turned on, driving the fan along the terrace of the first floor of the building. If there is at least some breeze - it was not felt, in calm - to the fullest. To the credit of the administration, when contacting about a room they don’t like, vacationers are provided with another one, sometimes even more comfortable than it was paid for, at no extra charge.
In general, the place is good, based on the results of two trips, taking into account the listed shortcomings, I will give it a four on a five-point system. Do I want to go there again? Definitely yes, but not next year, but some time later. Quiet, beautiful place away from cities, noise and exhaust gases. If not for the incident with an intestinal infection, everything would be wonderful. I hope that the boarding house management will draw conclusions based on the results of the 2018 season.
