We rested in the Neva boarding house with my husband in early September 2016. When choosing a hotel, we carefully studied the reviews and ratings on this and other sites and, based on a good rating and most positive reviews, we chose the Neva boarding house ...And how wrong we were ...
It all started with the arrival - we ordered a transfer, when ordering it was indicated that we would be delivered and our things would be lifted to the room, in fact - we dragged them ourselves along all 5 stairs, heavy 25 kg suitcases. Moreover, these stairs are quite steep, and the steps are already beaten off in some places and it’s a spit to get off them. And there is no lighting on these stairs, so it's even easier to wind up in the dark in the evening!
Yes, the hotel TERRITORY is not small, there are several walking paths, but they all go either uphill or downhill, that is, there are only stairs around the hotel. And if you live, for example, in the 3rd building, then in order to go to dinner you will have to go down the stairs 300-400 meters and after dinner also go up. To be honest, I didn’t understand how people with small children and strollers move there ...The pluses of the territory include the presence of a large number of various plants, trees and shrubs. There is also a small playground with a slide, carousel and swings.
Further - the road to the beach and the BEACH of the Neva boarding house itself - this is something! The road to the beach goes through a dark underground tunnel, it takes no more than 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the beach. In principle, the tunnel, when you get used to it, does not cause any negative emotions, my husband was even glad at noon to hide there from the scorching sun for a few minutes.
Plus, on the way you will be accompanied by all sorts of street singers and musicians, some kind of entertainment) The Neva boarding house has 3 beaches located one after another. A beach in Crimea is a thin strip of stone and pebble land from the wall to the sea. These beaches are so small that the sun loungers there are placed in 2-3 rows in maximum width and the neighbors will kick you with their heels and elbows. It is worth noting that the beginning of September is no longer the high season in Crimea and we expected that there would be few people, but by noon there were practically no places on the beaches or there were sunbeds covered with towels (occupied) without owners. But the worst thing is the quality of the bottom under your feet! These are some huge boulders! We walked all these 3 beaches far and wide and did not find such a place to enter the sea where these boulders would not be under our feet or they would not stick out of the ground. You can’t slip when entering the sea, unless you immediately start swimming.
It is simply unrealistic to go into the sea when it is worried and not fall (well, if not with your head on a huge stone). Lying near the shore in the oncoming waves - nope, this is not an option on such a beach - it will kill you on stones! I would not let a child splash around the shore for the same reasons! Yes, I read about these boulders in other reviews and thought - this cannot be ...So gentlemen - it can! Really sooooo bad beach and why the management of the boarding house does not fix this situation in any way, does not remove boulders or put pantones, as, for example, on the neighboring Porto Mare beach - I do not understand. Good beaches near the Demerdzhi and Porto Mare hotels, but they won’t let you in without a pass. As a result of the study of the nearby territory, ONE was found! The only normal beach on this side of the coast is the Magnolia public beach (10 minutes walk to the left of the Neva beaches).
This beach is just a paradise compared to the Neva - wide, relatively free and the main plus - entry into the sea! He just is! You can go in and not be killed by the stones, you can lie down at the bank, there are practically no boulders. But sunbeds on this beach are paid - 100 rubles per day - 1 pc. Entertainment on the beach - by the Neva, animators are engaged in with children - they draw, sculpt. There is simply nowhere for children to run or play outdoor games ...You can also ride a banana, a cheesecake, a scooter - the guys themselves drive up to the beach and stand there until they get a group - they ride and then go to the next beach. At 11 o'clock a van arrived at Magnolia with fresh and really tasty pastries. I am enclosing a photo of the beaches of the Neva boarding house with their "sights" - you will see everything for yourself. Also in Alushta there is a city beach - there are good small pebbles that do not dig into the legs and entry without boulders. But since
the beach is public to the people there is darkness and a contingent ...and with beer and with dogs and with heaps of garbage. We went to Magnolia and paid for sunbeds.
The ROOM itself in the hotel - we had a Premier double room. The room itself is exactly as in the photo from the site - even the picture is the same above the bed. True, in reality the number looks smaller. Only a bed, a refrigerator, a couple of bedside tables and a couple of suitcases fit there. And a small closet. In principle, this is enough. The walls in the building are really made of cardboard, the audibility is just fine, but we sleep soundly, we can’t wake up the baby crying at night)) There is a large clothes dryer, a plastic table and a couple of chairs on the balcony. The refrigerator is small and freezes well, there were no problems with air conditioning either, but the average temperature during the day and night in September was +26-+18 - there was no strong heat. The bathroom is quite small - shower tray, sink, toilet.
Our toilet began to leak on the very first day and was repaired only after 2 days, although the plumber came 3 times. When you turn on the water in the sink or flush the toilet, there is such a rumble in the pipes - like when an airplane takes off! The hotel administration saves totally on everything! Toilet paper is so gray and thin at 2p per roll. The kettle could be taken from the duty officer, but since there are only 2 kettles! For a building of 30-40 rooms, it was constantly not available. Sometimes it was necessary to wait and the kettle was brought, and once the attendant suggested that I myself go to the 25th room for a kettle ..."do not be shy" ...There are no dishes in the room either. Only 2 faceted glasses, from which you simply cannot drink tea. It is forbidden to take dishes out of the dining room! In general, buy glasses and plates in the store.
There was a safe in our room and it worked fine.
On the day when we checked in at the reception, I asked when a person would come and show how to use the safe - the administrator and I agreed on 9.30 the next day. In the morning I wait for this person - I sat for an hour - no one came! By the way, there is no telephone in the rooms, and if you need to somehow contact the reception, go on foot down to another building along 5 stairs through the bar to the right - to the left, etc. So, after waiting an hour, I went to find out where this person is - to the reception they say - why didn't you come? They began to search - after 10 minutes they found it, he answered - well, I was busy! Well, in general, the service is on the verge of fantasy! Everyone has to go looking, begging, waiting for 2 hours. When the toilet began to leak for the 3rd time, my husband had to climb in there himself to understand what was happening. A plumber came, looked and concluded - when you wash yourself, you spray water, right up to the toilet bowl! And only when the husband himself showed him where the water was flowing from, he began to repair it!
And if I was alone and I don’t know a damn thing about plumbing, live with a flooded bathroom. It turned out that the whole system was originally built incorrectly - that's why it flows and it's not clear in one room or in the whole building such a disaster.
CLEANING in the rooms is a separate issue. Washing the floor is the most you can count on. The dishes are not washed, the garbage from the bedside tables and from the balcony is not thrown away. Bed linen for 2 weeks we changed 1!! ! Once. When we entered the room, the floor on the balcony and the balcony furniture were dirty, the table was covered in some stains and stains from spilled beer or juice. I thought - well, tomorrow they will wash it. No matter how! The cleaning lady didn't even look in there and washed it only after I left a note asking me to wash it there on the 4th day of my stay. The beds are also not made. Refueled 1 time - when they changed the linen. When our toilet water flooded the entire bathroom, my husband himself cleaned all this dirt for the first time.
The second time I went to the administrator of the building, she offered a rag, and only when he already began to get nervous and swear, she went to wipe this disgrace herself.
And one of the biggest disadvantages in the Neva is FOOD. The dining room is located in a separate building at the very bottom of the boarding house, inside everything is decent, quite clean, tablecloths on the tables, the staff tries to quickly clean everything up. But the menu itself and the food is something. After the first breakfast, I left the dining room almost crying, realizing that there was not much I could eat there. The menu for breakfast, unlike lunch and dinner, did not differ much in its variety. In general, in general, the favorite product of the Neva cooks is cabbage! I probably haven’t eaten as much cabbage in my whole life as I saw in this menu. Cabbage salad of 4 types - from sauerkraut, fresh, salted, pink cabbage, cabbage soup, stewed cabbage, cabbage rolls, and other variations on the theme. Cabbage lovers - all to the Neva!
I felt genuine pity for the children sitting sadly over the plates with this “porridge”. Pasta - it would seem that it is difficult to cook pasta normally, but no - this is not pasta, but some kind of overcooked sticky mass, disgusting! Okay, if you pour ketchup on them, maybe they will pass, I thought, but even here a super tough bummer awaited me! Ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard are poured into special bottles on the counter, you can press as much as you want into your plate, but after the first time I realized that I didn’t want to at all. No more sauces, I swear! I have never eaten in my life! It seems that they are also diluted with water, but they also taste disgusting. No, this is not “My Family” ketchup or the like, this is a ketchup from the 90s that is sold in bottles of half a liter for 15 rubles, such a transparent pink color, similar in consistency to pink wallpaper paste! Similar mustard and mayonnaise. Well, e-May, guys, well, how is it possible!
Well damn with all your breakfast then go! Well, how much can a tourist of your ketchup eat for his own money and rather big ones! Well, why really save on such trifles as ketchup and toilet paper so totally? ! Next, salads, this is a separate fun topic on the Neva menu, such salads as there, honestly, neither I nor you have eaten yet)) I made similar ones at 5 years old from everything that was lying around in the refrigerator and it’s so cute that each of these messes is given its separate fancy name - Tenderness salad, Rainbow salad, Sunny salad and the like. In fact, these are all variations on the theme of cabbage, squid salad and Olivier salad. Have you ever thought about adding rice to seaweed? ! And call it “cheerfulness” salad)) This is such a fantasy cuisine and sophisticated fantasy of the chef Neva! There are also mixed salads from those that were not eaten for lunch, for example.
For lunch they gave carrots, beets and cabbage separately, but what was not eaten was stupidly dumped into one tray, mixed and served for dinner !! ! It was disgusting to even look at, not like it is! These are the "culinary masterpieces", as stated in the advertising description of the hotel, waiting for you on vacation! Things are better with meat dishes - 2 meat dishes to choose from plus chicken or fish, everything is quite edible. To drink for lunch and dinner they give compote diluted with water 1k8mi, but quite tolerable and nasty tasteless "tip". Further, such an important attribute of the spa menu as fruits - on a large table with the inscription Fruits there was one plate with - apples or oranges, sometimes plums, or sometimes grapes. A couple of times in 10 days they gave watermelon and melon. It is worth noting that fruits on the market are quite inexpensive in order to save on them so much. From desserts, sometimes they gave fruit jelly and for dinner something from pastries - puffs or honey cake or a bun with poppy seeds.
Pastries, by the way, are delicious, for pastries - 5k, but one kind is somehow not enough, at least 3-4. And of course, kefir, where would it be without it) Breakfast, lunch and dinner are held strictly according to the schedule and it is compiled in such a way that tourists leaving on excursions in the morning and arriving in the evening do not have time to eat. Breakfast 8.00-9.30, Lunch 13.00-14.30, Dinner 18.00-19.30. The bus for morning excursions usually leaves at 8-8.30 in the morning, and it takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the bus stop. Earlier, they were not allowed to have breakfast, God forbid you have time to grab a roll with you or something good to eat. Similarly with dinner, arriving from most excursions at 19.15-19.30 with dinner you fly by, the same applies to late arrivals. We tried to ask for some dry rations - a small set of products to take with us the next day, because when leaving on an excursion we did not get breakfast, lunch and dinner. They don't do that! Putting cookies, a couple of sandwiches, an apple and a bottle of water in a bag is, of course, unimaginably expensive.
When we hinted at the fact that, according to the rules of the hotel business, it is supposed to give out rations, they said - you are not in Europe here! Yeah ...not Europe ...not even Egypt. For a second, the Neva boarding house has a 3 * star rating, which it does not correspond to in any way, and there is no drinking water in your room.
When on the last day we asked for a book of complaints and suggestions in order to leave our feedback in it, opening it, we were simply shocked - for a month there were a lot of positive reviews written in calligraphy of this nature - “We express gratitude to the staff of the dining room” or “we ask you to reward the staff of the canteen for a varied, tasty meal, etc. Whether we ate these people in some other canteen, or simply each of the employees of the boarding house writes such a review in the book once every 3 days ...We wrote a constructive review with requests and a proposal to fire chef.
The hotel has a team of ANIMators - young guys who organize evening entertainment for the people, games, but for the most part they are engaged with the kids - they do crafts, draw, dance, sing, organize mini-discos. During the day, animators work on the beach with children. In the evening you can play mafia, poker, activities. In principle, the guys are trying as much as possible in such conditions. Everyone is cheerful, positive, smiling) there are no complaints about them. But there are no very interesting entertainments in the hotel either, a standard set. And people gather in the bar in the evening no more than 10 people. I really liked the Belarusian party, the animators dressed up in themed costumes, contests with riddles, the evening of Belarusian cuisine. This was the ONLY dinner that we were completely satisfied with. Everything was delicious, varied, quite fresh, several types of pastries, national dishes, delicious salads! They were shocked by this!

TOURS. On the territory of the hotel (right at the dining room) sits a guide offering a variety of sightseeing tours. We had a very nice sociable lady named Elvira. We ordered 5 or 6 excursions from her, everyone was very satisfied. Were in the Crimean reserve, in 3 palaces, in Sevastopol and Balaklava, Bakhchisarai, Taigan Lion Park - all excursions are different, but very impressive. I recommend Taigan Park to both children and adults, it's just a delight! But if you go on your own, you need to go early in the morning. At 10 am, the lions are fed and there is something to see, and at 10.30-11 am they already begin to disperse in the corners and fall asleep.
We got to Yalta from Alushta without any problems in an hour on a half-empty air-conditioned trolleybus! ))) to the bus station. But the cable car to Ai-Petri leaves from the village of Miskhor in the mountains, which also needs to be reached. We would take a minibus for 150r and get there calmly, but we decided to save money and take a bus to the cable car. For half an hour we were looking for a bus schedule - they didn’t find it, evil aunts are sitting at the box office and when asked to tell which buses go to the cable car they answer - you don’t have an information desk here! Then they ran along the standing buses, asking who was going and where, finally they found it. I managed to sit down again, my husband rode standing up. We waited 20 minutes in the heat for departure, 1.5 hours we drove to the mountains, very slowly along the serpentine, I was already beginning to despair that we would have time to get there before the lift closed. We went up on the cable car, took pictures on the observation deck and went for a walk. We stumbled upon a sign - "teeth of Ai Petri. "
If you find yourself there - be sure to go to the teeth! I have never seen such beauty in my life, from the memories goosebumps, and the sunset on Ai Petri is beautiful! But if you go with small children, the edge of the mountains is not fenced in anything, and a nimble child can easily accidentally fall into the abyss. It is worth going to Ai Petri, of course, in cloudless weather. Although on the day when we went we found clouds on the mountain in the afternoon and we no longer hoped to see anything, but by 4 pm the cloud literally blew away in 10 minutes and a gorgeous view opened from the top! One of the most vivid memories from my vacation.
We planned a lot of excursions and in order to find out what - when - where and how much we needed a schedule and a leaflet with prices for excursions. But they won't just give it to you. The fact is that these tour agencies give out only brochures with descriptions of excursions - there are no days of departure and prices in them.
The consultant has them, but on a piece of paper in a single amount and they won’t give it to you, they can dictate it. We had to arrange for the consultant to give us these sheets for 3 minutes before leaving - to make a copy for ourselves at the reception. And that's how it is in Crimea! There are no elementary, simple things to make a tourist's vacation comfortable. Everything has to beg, seek out, everywhere there are some difficulties. Although, it would seem something difficult - print several copies with information on prices and days and distribute to people. In Europe, these avenues are generally free on the corners, and take at least 100 pieces every day. This is advertising - the engine of trade.
In general, the impression of the boarding house Neva is extremely negative. And it’s not even about the people, but the staff is a little “freebie”, but it seems that they are trying for the guests. And they seem to be happy to see us tourists. But the feeling that they work here with a motto does not leave – and so it will do.
The management of the boarding house saves on everything that is possible, on insignificant penny trifles, the absence of which negatively affects the impression of the hotel. They save on food, on the number of cleaners in the state, even on toilet paper. They do not care about the comfort and safety of vacationers on the beach. It would seem that the boarding house management has something to think about, but most likely, under my negative review, they themselves will write 150 positive ones about how wonderful everything is here. And they will wait for new tourists who were simply closed by other countries, so they are forced to go to the sea to the Crimea, where for a lot of money (we paid 7.000 rubles for 11 days for a double room without a transfer) they will receive soviet service and buffet meals - Soviet version.
I repeat, we are extremely undemanding tourists, we mostly take 3 * hotels in Europe and Russian cities, we also lived in hostels, but we have never had such a contrast between expectation and reality anywhere. For the Neva Hotel, objectively, it would not be a pity for 30 thousand for a double room for 10 days, but not 70! By the way, it was our honeymoon trip, but they don’t provide any discounts for newlyweds or elementary champagne and fruit as a gift to the room at the boarding house. I highly do not recommend the Neva Hotel to anyone for any kind of vacation, do not believe a bunch of positive reviews - they are written by the staff of the boarding house themselves and post beautiful photos from the “Belarusian party”.

No, I am not a manager of a neighboring hotel and this is not anti-advertising, this is one true review in the many that the staff of the Neva boarding house write every day on all sites and in their own thank-you book instead of providing tourists with quality service at an adequate price. Things are better with meat dishes - 2 meat dishes to choose from plus chicken or fish, everything is quite edible. To drink for lunch and dinner they give compote diluted with water 1k8mi, but quite tolerable and nasty tasteless "tip". Further, such an important attribute of the spa menu as fruits - on a large table with the inscription Fruits there was one plate with - apples or oranges, sometimes plums, or sometimes grapes. A couple of times in 10 days they gave watermelon and melon. It is worth noting that fruits on the market are quite inexpensive in order to save on them so much. From desserts, sometimes they gave fruit jelly and for dinner something from pastries - puffs or honey cake or a bun with poppy seeds.
Pastries, by the way, are delicious, for pastries - 5k, but one kind is somehow not enough, at least 3-4. And of course, kefir, where would it be without it) Breakfast, lunch and dinner are held strictly according to the schedule and it is compiled in such a way that tourists leaving on excursions in the morning and arriving in the evening do not have time to eat. Breakfast 8.00-9.30, Lunch 13.00-14.30, Dinner 18.00-19.30. The bus for morning excursions usually leaves at 8-8.30 in the morning, and it takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the bus stop. Earlier, they were not allowed to have breakfast, God forbid you have time to grab a roll with you or something good to eat. Similarly with dinner, arriving from most excursions at 19.15-19.30 with dinner you fly by, the same applies to late arrivals.
