Late fall. It's time to visit the Crimea.
(Real events and impressions. November 2013)

Any person from the post-Soviet space associates the Crimean peninsula, of course, with summer, the sea, the sun, white ships, warm summer walks along the Yalta or Alushta embankment. But in fact, Crimea can be different. And this is a vivid confirmation of our sudden unexpected trip to the Crimea at the end of November.
We are residents of megacities, cities of glass and concrete, we sit at the monitors of our computers all day long and do not notice how life goes on ...So I, sitting at the computer at home, absolutely accidentally found information that the competition "Our Family wants to go to the sea. After reading the rules, I infantilely reacted to all this, with the thought that: “Again a divorce, again a figurehead or a distant relative of the sponsors will win. ”

But, something inside told me that, nevertheless, it would not be superfluous to post your photo and participate in the competition, especially since my girls have a photo in the family album that is the best suited to the theme of the competition, and God himself asked to participate. A few days later, I no longer remembered either about this contest or about the photo.
Suddenly, I was surprised by a phone call from an unknown number and I was informed that we had won the competition. No, I didn’t believe my ears, I asked a hundred times, I doubted that this was not a hoax, then I thought for a few more minutes ...in general, after I read the results of the competition on the Porto Mare website, only then did I really understand our good luck and thanked fate out loud for giving us a great chance to get acquainted with the Crimea in the off-season, which I did not neglect and firmly decided to take advantage of this opportunity!
Despite the fact that the school year is in full swing, and preparations for the New Year holidays have already begun, I gathered my courage and went with the children to the South Coast.
The first impressions already appeared when boarding the train, which was leaving in the middle of the night, and it was interesting, and to some extent, fabulous to sit in a warm soft compartment, look out the window at the yellow eyes of city windows, at the sparkle of water down there under the bridge, on night Dnieper and night Dnepropetrovsk. My daughters, Alice and Margo, 8 years old, even forgot that they really want to sleep, so bewitching views of the night were before our eyes.
Day 1. Morning on the train. Hot tea brought by the guide. And sugar, in sticks. It's a pity, because since childhood, everyone has associated tea on the train with sugar cubes in a paper wrapper with a drawn long train ...And now outside the window is the suburb of Simferopol - the capital of Crimea.

The railway station, at first glance, is the most ordinary, like in any other city in our country. The city greeted us with fresh air, sunny mornings and not November warm weather. The transfer from Simferopol to Alushta took about an hour. We sat in the car and turned our heads in different directions, it was interesting to see everything, especially since our driver was just super, not only did he drive us, he also gave us a tour, and we, listening to his stories and staring at to the sides, they could only squeeze out of themselves that: “Wow, yes, oh you. ” The serpentine road, on which we were driving, then wagged in different directions, then went up, then went down, among the locals it is called the mother-in-law language road. We passed a pine forest, a monument to a trolley bus, we had a view of the mountains and vineyards, which were already harvested and prepared for winter. The combination of all the autumn colors of the Crimea gave us a bright, juicy picture of Crimea, another, non-summer.
And so, we arrived at the territory of the Porto Mare Park Hotel. At the reception we were greeted with a smile, kindly, and immediately felt so cozy and warm ...perhaps also because everything was decorated in warm beige and pale blue tones. The armchair in the hall immediately caught my eye. Unusual cosmic shape, spinning on a leg. As we later found out, this chair is very fond of both children and adults. And this not entirely clear unusual chair gave some mystery to the hall itself. We were handed the key to the room and shown off.
From this place, the fairy tale has already begun to come true! Mirrored elevators, heavy red oak front doors, all this concealed something very, very unusual and interesting. Opening the door to my presidential suite...the first thing my girls said was: “Wow, mom, how beautiful it is here! » Having woken up, but right in their outer clothes, they jumped, jumped and threw pillows on a huge beautiful sofa in the middle of the living room.
And I remained standing at the door with a suitcase, looking at everything around. Yes, I will not hide, my admiration knew no bounds, because, as my family, we have never rested in SUCH rooms. Here reigned impermissible luxury, taste, comfort. Everything, down to a single curtain and a glass, was impossible to perfect, already scary))). In the room: a children's room with two spacious beds, comfortable armchairs, plasma, a bathroom with a view of the Crimean mountains, all in mirrors, snow-white. The living room, which smoothly passes into the kitchen, where there are all kitchen utensils and appliances necessary to make the rest a rest. In the living room there are two large beautiful comfortable sofas with small pillows that you just want to press against you. A large white dining table and transparent chairs with backs are so unusual, and at the same time natural.

Another bedroom, already for adults with a snow-white shower room, table lamps in unison, a large closet with mirrored doors, where you can hide not only all your luggage, but also go in and wander through the back streets))). Two balconies with wicker furniture, glass tables and views of the mountains and the park area.
As for the territory of the Porto Mare Park Hotel, I am afraid that I simply do not have enough words to convey all its beauty and uniqueness. It has everything for a full-fledged quality holiday, both with family, children, and individually. A unique mountain waterfall, the scent of pine needles, squirrels rustling somewhere upstairs, a mini-zoo, a complex of heated pools, a chessboard with figures the height of an eight-year-old child, where you can become and turn into a chess queen, as my girls did. Amusement park "Mare Land" with attractions, courts, beauty salon honey.
a center with oxygen foam and physiotherapy, and even its own concert hall. The playroom is a paradise for children. There we were received with such cordiality, my girls were occupied there not only with games, but also with creative activities, so much so that we left there with tears and promises to return tomorrow. Animators are professionals who know how and what to interest and entertain the child with benefit.
It's time for lunch. And we went to the Porto Mare restaurant with a summer terrace. In addition, there is also a Lobby bar, where you can comfortably sit on soft sofas or pale blue armchairs, squeeze a soft pillow in yourself and drink a cup of aromatic coffee or tea. Our meals corresponded to the "Swedish line" system, we were given a menu, and we could choose the dishes that we wanted in any quantity. The restaurant administrator Margarita was always tirelessly at her post and was ready to help at any moment.

As for taste preferences, I clicked more on sea dishes - from fish, seafood, juices, the children were delighted with the skill of the pastry chef and every day they were delighted with pastries. We were able to taste sauces, mayonnaises and homemade bread, we were offered a special collection of wine specifically for Porto Mare. In general, we brought a couple of extra pounds from there. ))) And even a rich entertainment program and forays into the mountains did not save our figures.
After lunch, we were already waiting for the excursion "Crimea in miniature". We all know that Crimea is rich not only in sun and sea, but also in numerous historical and cultural monuments. And if, well, you have very little time, but you want to see everything, then this excursion will help you visit the whole Crimea at once!
"Crimea in miniature" is a unique open-air museum with fabulous illumination, which contains all the historical, cultural and architectural sights of the peninsula on a scale of 1:25. In a little more than an hour, the girls and I visited all the cities of Crimea: Sevastopol, Foros, Simeiz, Gaspra, Miskhor, Yalta, Sudak, Feodosia, Evpatoria, Bakhchisarai ...
Today, we were still waiting for two excursions: to the Alushnitsky Aquarium and the Multipark, but the impressions were already overwhelming us and pleasant fatigue made itself felt, so after a delicious gourmet dinner, we were all tired, but satisfied, went to our royal fairy-tale room to sleep, in luxurious beds with crisp linens. Thus ended our first day of stay in the Crimea Alushta Porto Mare.
Day 2. Morning.
You just can’t imagine how nice it is to wake up in the morning, put on a white terry dressing gown, soft white slippers and slap across the room into a luxurious bathroom! Stand in front of the mirror, turn on the water, and with a toothbrush, brushing your teeth, make faces in the mirror, and then sing a song loudly in the shower ....you feel like the main character of some movie. There is silence in the nursery outside the door, I think that the girls are still sleeping, but: "...it's time, my friend, it's time to get up, because today we have a rich excursion program! " We are going to the Taigan lion safari park! I'm going to wake up the girls! I quietly open the door, and then, a machine-gun burst of pillows flies at me ...we all fall on the bed, laugh, fight and just enjoy such a simple family sunny Crimean morning.

After breakfast, a car with large letters on the hood “Arguments of the Week” was already waiting for us at the main entrance, accompanied by Alexei, a handsome, bearded man with glasses, making a solid impression, and his companion Svetlana. Together we got into the car and set off on a difficult journey to the city of Belogorsk, where the lion park is located. Believe it or not, our road was truly fabulous and unpredictable. This is very easy to follow on an ordinary map. The road meandered, descended, rose, then we saw the sea at arm's length, then drove deep into the peninsula. Enjoyed, it seemed, endless vineyards and persimmon gardens. But, when we began to climb high into the mountains along a road that looked like a path, on one side of which there was a rock and fallen mountain stones, on the other a steep cliff, the spirit was not at all childish.
And we all climbed and climbed, several times we came across oncoming cars on the way, and in order to pass each other on a narrow mountain path, the drivers had to show all their driving talent and aerobatics!
All the way Alexey and Svetlana told us interesting and unique facts about the peninsula. We stopped at the lighthouse, which is also a temple, a temple-lighthouse, in the courtyard of which the anchors of sunken ships are collected, as a reminder that the water element does not forgive mistakes. We saw a commemorative plaque to the submarine "Kursk", even from one look at it, the blood runs cold in the veins. And what a view opens from its steps to the sea and the coastal part! And right at the entrance, a large real Crimean cactus with already ripened scarlet fruits, resembling drops of blood....
Having overcome all the obstacles, having received a dose of mountain adrenaline, we finally got to the Taigan lion safari park. At the entrance there are huge statues of lions...
these graceful animals fascinate with their formidable appearance even in the form of statues...The park is spread over an area of .32 hectares, and here is a collection of rare animals and birds. The conditions of detention of which are as close as possible to natural. So deer, peacocks freely walk along the paths of the park, lions and tigers feel calm on the flat territory. The whole secret of this park is that metal bridges are installed over the flat area, connecting its various parts at a safe height from the ground, which allows visitors to absolutely safely walk through these structures and watch predatory wild animals in their natural environment without threat to life. .

Also, all animals can be fed, though only with those foods that can be purchased on the territory, and this is understandable, because all animals are our smaller brothers, and we are not what we should, we simply have to take care of their well-being. The territory of the park seemed endless, there are marble benches and statues of animals, cafes, fountains, and souvenir shops.
The most impressive were giraffes with their long necks, a curious giraffe with curious eyes, white lion kittens, which are just like children ...the girls ran along their enclosure and they ran after them in parallel, this spectacle was so unique, because as soon as the cubs be it animals, be it human, these are the purest and brightest creatures on earth. And they seemed to understand each other without words, laughed and laughed each in their own way, but this was clearly understood and it was not even believed that there could be such a unity with nature.
In the neighboring enclosure there was a small lion cub, a week old, you could take a picture with him, pet him, which, of course, we did. He is so small, so defenseless and fluffy that it is hard to believe that a ferocious predatory beast will grow out of him!
Surprised and pleased at the same time, freely walking along the paths of the park, handsome peacocks, apparently so accustomed to people that they did not even hesitate to beg for something from visitors, looking into their hands and mouth).
Opposite the White Lion cafe, where we successfully dined with a turkey, there is a noble fountain with fanciful scenes and statues. What can I say, the trip was long, but the safari park is worth it to get there. Live emotions from animals, statues and endless unity with nature! I was very pleased with the fact that we have something similar in Ukraine.
We returned to the hotel late, on the way we took a few more photos against the background of trees with a persimmon crop.
It was also a real delight. After all, neither I nor, especially, my girls, have ever seen how this relatively exotic fruit grows.

There was also karaoke at the hotel after dinner. Having finally sung a couple of songs before going to bed, we all decided that we had completed the maximum program for today. And the happy ones stomped into their chambers, so that they would give themselves free of charge into the arms of Morpheus, until the morning of the third day.
Day 3. The morning in the room started again with throwing pillows and jumping on the beds. ))) Shower, breakfast, and on the road again! Today we have according to the plan: Swallow's Nest, Vorontsovsky Garden and the Palace and the ascent to Ai-Petri, of course, by car, because the cableway is under maintenance.
I don’t even know where the strength came from to master all this! Well, of course, we did not go down to the Swallow's Nest for 1200 steps, and then we did not go up the same number, because it is still in disrepair.
Therefore, after admiring it from the observation deck and taking a couple of shots, we went to the Vorontsov Palace.
Vorontsovsky Park is something amazing and fabulous: you begin to believe that the action of all Slavic fairy tales took place right here, in this park. The combination of rare trees and plants, the smell of fir trees, the sweetish aroma of tall slender cypresses, and all this encircles the freshness of a light breeze that came from the tops of the mountains, here it is real natural aromatherapy - it’s simply impossible to breathe! Small lakes and waterfalls give the park a special fabulousness. At first glance, the lake is like a lake, nothing special. But if you look closely at the swan swimming in it, it becomes clear that this is not just a swan, but the one in which “the moon shines under the scythe, and the star burns in the forehead. ”
And the bottom of another lake is strewn with coins, this is the Lake of Desires, everyone who gets here throws a coin into it and makes a wish. And the wish will surely come true! So did we! Everyone made a wish, tossed a coin, and with a sense of accomplishment, we moved forward.
An ensemble of three waterfalls awaited us. Small but beautiful, with very cold water. It seemed that even the most cold-blooded animals would not climb into such icy water, moreover, the air was heated to 20 degrees, and we all took off our outerwear and carried it with us. It's inconvenient, but what can you do.

We explored the Vorontsov Palace from the outside. They walked around everything, its northern and southern terraces, walked along the streets between the palace walls, where more than a dozen feature films were shot, counted all the giant cacti in the flowerbed in front of the palace, admired its architecture ...and ...so wanted to plunge into this fabulous era of castles, knights and court ladies...
BUT, we are waiting for the famous lions on the southern terrace, the fountain "Man's tear" and the winter garden. Having examined the castle, we went out to the observation deck in front of it and the guide Evgeny, stretching out his hand and pointing somewhere far away into the foggy clouds, said: “It’s high up there, you see the famous Ai-Petrinsky tridents - this is the hallmark of Crimea, now we’ll go there. » 80 km along the serpentine up the mountain...we passed this trip with honor! Upstairs, a unique and unique view of Yalta awaited us, the horizon line disappeared altogether, and it was no longer possible to distinguish where the sea ends and the sky begins ...and the clouds ...such a strange feeling when you don’t raise your head to look at the clouds up, but on the contrary, you lower it down ...and here they are swimming and swimming at your feet ...I don’t even know how you can convey such feelings!
Fear and admiration, joy and surprise - everything was so mixed up inside that I didn’t want to think about anything, but just stand on the edge and enjoy everything around!
We met with our dinner in a Tatar tavern, where everything was richly hung with carpets. The owner kindly offered us a tasting of the wines of his own production, it was delicious, I will not hide, and wines and shish kebab and Tatar flatbread! We also heroically endured the way back, sang songs, counted turns ...Going down to Yalta, we saw that the city was covered with thick fog ...we passed Massandra, Ai Danil, the rainbow Artek, the guide told us that there was no exact hypothesis why Crimea is called Crimea, and Alushta Alushta, the abbreviation Yalta proposed to decipher in a rather interesting and unusual way - I Love You Alushta! We laughed for a long time and exchanged impressions.
And persimmons, and the famous blue Crimean onion, and Crimean wine and a bouquet of laurel branches! “Girls, get up, we have a lot of important things to do! ”

Margo was the first to finish breakfast and ran headlong to the reception, where there was still an unusual blue space chair of a spherical shape, which was especially popular among vacationers. Alice in the lobby bar crumpled sofa cushions and neatly placed advertisements on the advertising rack. Then the receptionist Igor suddenly told us that it was simply necessary and important for us to visit the Multipark and the Alushta Aquarium! “Here's your day off, ” I thought, but I didn't refuse the excursions. Fortunately, they were on our way to the market.
The road to Multipark went through the famous Alushta embankment with a rotunda. Probably, there is no such Soviet person who would not have a photograph against the background of this graceful architectural building, which is the hallmark of Alushta.
We walked slowly, fed local pigeons, admired the sculpture of the Olympic bear, yes, yes, the very one for which thousands of Soviet children cried so much in the distant 80s ...
The first impression of Multipark was absolutely rosy. Because, like everything else, it was bright, positive, and the day turned out to be sunny, and the sun's rays gave all the exhibits some special summer joy, childish carelessness. And in this wonderful world of fairy tales, a magical corner “inhabited” by cartoon characters, you really forget about “that adult life”, full of problems and worries.
We traveled along the wide alleys of the Multipark, admiring the colorful sculptural compositions depicting various "cartoon" characters from the most famous animation films in the world. “Mom, mom, look, this is Snow White with her friends - dwarfs, ” Alice shouts to me: “Take a picture of me with her soon! “And me and Luntik, ” Margot called me.
Here we met with Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie, and with our beloved Soviet Cheburashka, with a car park from the film "Cars" known to all modern children, there is also stupid SpongeBob, and native "Prostokvashino", and the adventure penguin "Madagascar" . Carlson and the Kid, Winnie the Pooh and three heroes, beloved by many generations of Soviet children, are not forgotten in the Multipark, near which, of course, I took a picture with pleasure - any girl is pleased when she is surrounded by real men! I really did not want to leave this fascinating corner of rest, but the Alushta Aquarium was still waiting for us.

At the entrance to the aquarium, we were met by models of the inhabitants of the kingdom of Neptune. Having descended into the aquarium itself, the girls and I, at the moment, found ourselves in a unique underwater world-museum with living exhibits of the inhabitants of the underwater environment, which are collected here. So, we became the heroes of an underwater fairy tale, with our kingdom and its inhabitants.
There are four halls in the aquarium, like four parts of the world, four states. Each state has its own people, for example, in the first, which resembles the inner part of the Crimean cave with a large reservoir (outdoor pool) in the center, fish from the ranges of the Black and Azov Seas are represented. Most of all, we were interested in the seahorse, sea cow, sea dragon, sea cock and sea goby. In other states-halls there are exhibits from the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the Red and Mediterranean seas, as well as representatives of freshwater reservoirs. The entire exposition is decorated with a rare collection of sea shells and corals from around the world. We were breathtaking from the contemplation of amazing marine life: bloodthirsty piranhas, unusual coloring of rays, knife fish, huge catfish.
I was struck by aquatic turtles with long serpentine necks that do not fit into the shell, and a flock of small crocodiles that react to food, like a group of kindergarten children. It is allowed to feed the crocodiles here! And this is an unforgettable sight!
Our fascinating journey into the underwater world of lakes and rivers, seas and oceans continued. And we entered the fourth room. It was a state of amazing beauty of the inhabitants! Arrived to us from the Red Sea and the Indo-Pacific basin, striking in their variegated color. We stood as if bewitched by the graceful movements of the dangerous lionfish, the proud appearance of moray eels, the formidable fins of honey and reef sharks and sea turtles. And how much joy and delight Alice and Margot had when they recognized their favorite characters from the famous cartoon
"Finding Nemo"! A motley clown fish and his surgeon fish friend.

Our underwater trip gave us a lot of unique impressions from meeting hospitable and charming pets and water inhabitants, and the guide who accompanied us throughout the trip made it not only fascinating, but also informative, told us a lot of new and interesting things. Leaving this underwater fairy tale, there was a feeling of confidence that you want to come back here again and again!
So, in order to somehow recover, it was decided to take a walk on a trolley bus, which in Alushta plays a rather important role in the life of the city. There are several long-standing and sought-after trolleybus routes. And the main surprise of my children was that trolleybuses have an intercity route: Alushta - Simferopol, Alushta - Yalta. And we decided to visit the famous Professor's Corner. Move from an underwater fairy tale to a forest one.
The embankment of the Professor's Corner is long-suffering, all the underground and sea cataclysms that have ever happened here have always shown their destructive power and left ruins here. But, in spite of everything, the city authorities each time rebuild this unique beauty corner every time. Walking along the embankment, on our way we met the Alushta water park, a chain of restaurants and hotels right on the beach, and palm trees, palm trees, palm trees. We were so carried away looking at the buildings and the coastal zone that we didn’t notice how we reached our rotunda...The sun was shining, the sea waves crashed noisily against the rocky shore...We returned to the hotel along the beach, collecting beautiful different-angled pebbles...
We had a little more time, and we, nevertheless, managed to get to the Alushta market, where, of course, we purchased enough edible “visiting cards” of the peninsula to make nice presents for our relatives.
We spent this evening in a cozy Porto Mare restaurant with a glass of exclusive wine. The waiters brought us tasty and healthy dishes, and we all simply enjoyed their taste and the very leisurely process of eating sweets. Yes, today we almost had a day off, there were no long-distance excursions, but at the same time, we spent the day usefully. And the successful design, comfortable furniture of our truly royal room, simply enveloped us with their atmosphere of home comfort and warmth. Tomorrow we leave this piece of paradise...

Day 5. Last. The morning was overcast, in unison with our mood with the girls. Either from the fact that November is already coming to an end, or from the fact that our fabulously wonderful adventure was coming to an end.
Breakfast passed in silence. Everyone was upset at the thought of parting with this fairy tale, with Crimea, with its palm trees and the sea, with Porto Mare, with its always smiling and friendly faces of the staff, with its infinitely attractive and beautiful waterfalls and pools, with its so unique, and at the same time, simple and familiar comfort and atmosphere, which we so often lack in our metropolis life, among the office and office world...
And in order to somehow regain the mood of the previous days, after breakfast we called a hotel electric car, which took us to the promenade of Porto Mare beach. It was quite unusual to ride in a car without windows and doors, and without the smell of gasoline, and watch everything around!
We thought that during these days, we got acquainted with the infrastructure of the park hotel
Port Mare. But it turned out not! What an indelible impression the beach of the hotel made on us! Where did the sadness and longing disappear!
All the guys who accompanied us all this time, the employees of the restaurant and the game room, all became so familiar these days. Finally, Porto Mare was presented to us as a keepsake: this is an exclusive wine produced especially for the hotel, t-shirts for girls “I LOVE PORTO MARE”, with which they do not part at home for a minute, and a notebook, a constant companion of any traveler. All this is so touching and delightful.
The girls for a long time, in the car, looking out the window, saw off the views of Porto Mare and Alushta ...We reached Simferopol quickly ...and here is our train ...soft compartment, comfortable shelves, even here
Porto Mare took care of our comfort... )) We were at home after 6 hours.
These five days have become fabulously unreal for all of us. It was as if we were “torn out” from our ordinary gray life and plunged into a colorful bright world.

For the honesty of the competition, for the love and warmth that I and my children received while visiting you from everyone and everyone who accompanied us and worried about our comfort! YOU ARE BEST!
Friends, participate in the contest "Our family wants to go to the sea", believe in your luck, and
she will certainly smile at you, your dream will become a reality, and your family will plunge into the endless fairy tale of Crimea and Porto Mare!
