Just returned from the boarding house "Northern Dvina".
Before leaving there prudently decided to read the reviews and was just shocked. Almost canceled the trip. But I still decided not to rely on other people's opinions, but to make up my own. And did not regret it!
Quite a normal, adequate boarding house for those who have a developed sense of value for money.
We lived in building 5 on the first floor with amenities. The room is good, spacious, relatively well maintained.
Balcony overlooking the sea. The room is cold even without air conditioning. Hot water was all day, only after 12 at night sometimes it was not.
They change the bed once a week, yes. But do you change houses more often? The garbage is taken out every day, the floors were washed a couple of times a week. The only downside is the insects. To us in the evenings, sometimes a centipede crap crawled from the balcony (it did not succumb to classification). However, it happened only a few times and we successfully overcame it with the help of a slipper : )
They reached the beach in 15-20 minutes on foot, and when they were late for the dining room, they managed to do it in 10! : ) And this road can be used to good use, because. it runs along the promenade, where a lot of souvenirs and all sorts of goodies are sold!
As for the "huge sharp stones" on the beach, most likely it was written by people who did not reach the farthest of the 3 Dvina beaches (separated by breakwaters).
On the first two, there are really quite large stones (although this is also an amateur, even children swim there), on the third there are small pebbles; ) The beach is clean, the sea is also always clean there, there are free sunbeds (wooden) for the residents of the boarding house.
The food isn't perfect, but it's not bad either. Most of the portions were large (sometimes even excessive), even my man (a big fan of a hearty meal : ) gorged himself! Always give fruit, vegetables, meat or fish. Once even sandwiches with caviar were given! : ) Customized menu, twice a week you can choose your own food for the next three days.
The minus of the canteen is sometimes poorly washed dishes and unprofessional staff.
Was it delicious? Sometimes yes, sometimes not so much. Everyone has different tastes. But most of the time we enjoyed it : )
Regarding the fact that they are not allowed into the boarding house at night, etc. , I have not heard anything like that. We were always allowed. If you come after midnight and the building is already closed, just ring the bell and the watchman opens it for you. No problem, everything is as it should be. You just need to be able to communicate with people ; )
