To be honest, when planning a vacation, we didn’t even think about Crimea: Croatia was a priority for us, especially since visa problems weren’t expected (they were canceled for the summer season), and the feedback from friends and acquaintances was only positive. But it so happened that the husband could be recalled back to work at any time + he had to always be in touch (telephone, Internet) and we decided not to leave the territory of Ukraine. We were upset because we really wanted to go to Croatia, but we started looking for options in Ukraine.
It was necessary to take into account: a vacation at sea with a child of 8 years old + walking distance to the sea + a hotel, not an apartment + comfortable conditions with all amenities + accommodation close to "civilization" (i. e. small villages fell away due to undeveloped infrastructure and lack of entertainment) + at least some kind of cultural program in the form of excursions and interesting places, if suddenly in 2 weeks either the weather deteriorates, or you finally get tired of wallowing "seal" on the beach : ).
We chose Evpatoria because the beaches are sandy, there are many entertainments for adults and children, and the city is not small, but it also turned out to have an ancient history (I didn’t even know that there were cities older than 2500 years in Ukraine)! We chose a place of rest on the Internet, incl. and on http://www.turpravda.com, we found several hotels and boarding houses that suited us: there were no places in the "Oasis", "Sea Land" turned out to be quite far from the city center and transport does not go there (you need to stomp from the final stops), "Arsenal" - conflicting reviews, "Veles" - for our dates was only the most expensive room, "Yuliana" - I liked it, but to go to the sea about 600 m and it seemed a little expensive, as a result we stopped at "Smile" on the street . Simferopol - and the price was right, and the sea is close, and the city is "at hand".

Didn't guess! "Smile" is a mini-hotel with a small private territory. The room (mini-suite) on the 1st floor really liked the original design, although small, but everything you need is present: air conditioning, a refrigerator for drinks, a TV, a shower. Good food, a new modern playground, all domestic issues are resolved quickly, the staff or owners could always tell us what we needed. There are several beaches nearby - there were a lot of people on the "Oasis", but further down the street there are very few beaches: we are by car, both with rights, so I sat down and after 2 minutes on the beach with a density of people an order of magnitude lower than on the "Oasis" , though small pebbles are already beginning there - such a mixture of sand and small pebbles, but this is probably for the best - it is more useful for the legs! I also liked the "Old Town" of Evpatoria - on Fridays there was a local show: "living statues", the Tatars played drums colorfully, a souvenir market, national cafes, you can visit a mosque, a cathedral, Karaite kenasas. In the evening we went to the embankment - there are many restaurants and cafes. We went to the water park. In general, I liked everything very much - we arrived in a good mood, although there was a lot of talk about the "Crimean service" and rudeness, but we didn’t come across this, or maybe we were just in a positive mood !! ! The holiday was really better than expected!
