We are visiting the hotel for the second time. First trip 2010: September, 3-room VIP suite (now called comfort suite). 2012: end of August, PK-2-room SOUTH first floor. So we can evaluate the hotel, so to speak, in dynamics.
Hotel: A five-story building (the sixth floor was completed in 2012), there is a swimming pool, 30 meters away the so-called "night club" belonging to the hotel. Well located, in a quiet place, everything you need within walking distance (2-5 minutes walk): grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, canteen, pharmacies, households. goods, cable car to the beach, minibus stop. The main attractions of Yalta in 15-30 minutes by public transport: cable car to Ai-Petri, Vorontsov Park / Palace, Livadia Palace, Zoo, Theater of Marine Animals, Fairy Tale Glade, Massandra Palace and Nikitsky Botanical Garden (with a transfer in Yalta). This is a big plus, because. there is no need to buy excursions, even if you are not on your own transport.
Beach: Descent to the beach by cable car Marata. The beach of the Marat Hotel, more precisely, even part of the beach, if, as of 2010, the vacationers of Marat and Ai-Todor sunbathed mixed, then in 2012, part of Ai-Todor was fenced, the entrance is separate. There is not enough space, if you come to 10-00, then there is a high probability that you will not find where to sit back, or you will lie in the aisle. And it's not so much the size of the beach, but the vacationers themselves: lay a 2x3m blanket at 6 in the morning, and then come by 11 o'clock; or lie across, in order to illuminate yourself with the rays of the rising sun with the maximum possible area; or take 3 places at once: under a canopy, in the sun and so that your feet are washed with water. Ai-Todorovtsy who encroached on a part of the beach belonging to Marat are expelled back (in principle, politely, if they don’t resist; if they resist, they are expelled with a verbal skirmish (so that they don’t have to be dragged out by the hands). This somewhat overshadows the rest, but I think it could be decided the purchase of sun loungers and the supervision of a beach watcher, so that they would not occupy 3 places at once.

Hotel infrastructure: the aforementioned unheated outdoor pool, billiards (2 Russian tables, large and small), library (not so hot, but there), gym (we weren’t there, but we saw a sign on the door), a ping-pong table, a restaurant at hotel, bar and free Wi-Fi in the lobby.
Staff: young girls at the reception, cleaning ladies, young guys on security and animation. Attitude towards vacationers is friendly. A few issues that arose were resolved the first time: a burnt out light bulb, a pillow for a child, a thermometer, a broken glass (they didn’t take money when leaving). No one will carry you in your arms, but the issues, to the best of their ability, will be resolved.
Rooms: neat, relatively new furniture, plumbing in good condition. The vip had a complete set of necessities: dishes, a microwave oven, a TV set, a kettle, a small refrigerator. There is no microwave in the 2-room apartment, there are no dishes, except for 2 glasses and a coffee set, but I would like a couple of plates with forks and a knife. The wallpaper is tired, there are stains on the ceiling in some places, in the shower cabin you can see cleaned traces of mold, and plaster has fallen off in some places on the balconies. The disadvantages are not fatal, it is clear that they did not get into the Hilton network. In general, we did not notice these little things on the second day.
Cleanliness: rooms are cleaned to an acceptable standard, garbage is taken out every day, tiles near the pool are scrubbed every day. There are no complaints about cleaning. The pool is cleaned every morning, chemistry is poured into it regularly, the water is certainly not crystal clear, but the likelihood of swallowing some kind of stick or ciliate is minimized by bleach.

Animation: Well done guys. Every day fun, mostly for children, well, adults get a little bit. In the morning, exercises in the pool, then water polo, darts or mini cricket. From 17-00 to 19-00 they are busy with children (drawing, etc. ), at 20-00 there is a disco for children near the pool. From 21-00 entertainment in the "night club". Some complain that every week the same thing, the same songs at the children's disco, I disagree. If you come with a child, then you feel the difference significantly, either you entertain him yourself, or the hotel entertains him. Our routine was as follows: in the morning the beach, in the afternoon rest, after a daytime sleep, the child was put out of the room and his head didn’t hurt, what to do with him - he either participated in entertainment or spun with peers under the supervision of animators.
Meals: the hotel offers meals either complex or a la carte in the restaurant. In 2010, the room rate included breakfast, if there were no complaints about the quality, then there were complaints about the quantity. A breakfast of boiled eggs, cottage cheese and melted cheese is like a snack, not breakfast. If you order a complex, then for two adults and a child in the region of 400 UAH per day, it’s kind of cool. Therefore, we had breakfast in the room (sandwiches, seagulls), dined in the dining room above the minimarket (the first two and the second three cost 80-100 hryvnias with compotes), dined where necessary as needed. An order from the menu in the hotel restaurant will cost 170-200 hryvnia (1 first, 2 second, salad, a couple of beers), the portions are solid, they cook quickly. Food at the hotel was expensive for us (for example, in the dining room next to work, lunch costs me 30-35 UAH: first, second, salad, compote - the portions are huge, I don’t think they work at a loss there). On the beach you can have a bite to eat in a stall with pancakes (very even nothing) and in the Fornetti stall with various pastries, in other establishments we tried to take something.
Category of vacationers: the hotel is designed mainly for vacationers with children under 12 years old, the entire daily routine is adjusted for this category of vacationers. Technical break in the pool from 14:00 to 16:00, I think due to the observance of silence, rather than technical necessity. The pool closes at 22:00.
Among the shortcomings: what annoyed me was a stupid little faucet that did not match the sink. The quality of the ventilation in the rooms. The cost of parking for a car (30 UAH per day - for what the hell? ).

To sum up: we like the hotel, an ideal place to stay for couples with a small child for reasonable money. Active youth and noisy company have nothing to do here. Those who like to look for dust particles with a magnifying glass and a white glove in the corners will also not work.
Will we come again? May be. Today, the price / quality ratio of the hotel is very good. I will answer questions.
