We rested in Ai-Danil from 07/24/2010 to 08/06/2010 with my husband and four-year-old daughter. We lived in a suite on the third floor of a large building.
I will make a reservation right away, we are spoiled for Western European service, there is something to compare with. I still hope so. that my review will be about
The overall impression of the holiday - just wonderful. Will we go back there again? Yes! Yes! Yes! Because it is clear that the management and staff are trying their best to turn "Ai-Danil" into a comfortable and cozy place, focused on family vacations. They just didn’t have enough time (read the history of the sanatorium! ), Considering that a maximum of 30 percent rest for the full price, the remaining 70 are employees of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, and any improvements require serious investments.
Now in order:

1. The territory of the sanatorium is beyond praise. A park of unreal beauty! And this park began to be planted only in 1974. Those who were in Ai-Dnil should have seen photographs of 1974 - the building stands on bare ground, there are practically no trees around. The park is very well looked after - they cut it, plant it, wash the paths (they wash it, and not just water it, and even every day). Lots of gazebos and benches. Everything is modern and well maintained.
2. The pool is beyond praise! And the area around it. Lots of sun loungers: if you want to relax in the shade of pines, if you want to take sunbaths. I have never heard of any requirement to wear a hat. Doesn't smell like chlorine at all. Apparently they use more modern cleaners. In general, the cleanliness of the pool is monitored very well. after lunch, the pool is closed for 2 hours, cleaned. On Mondays, the pool is completely closed - again, they clean it. I agree that it would be possible to extend the pool hours until 9-10 pm!
3. The beaches are wonderful! There are enough beds for everyone. But as it was already written here, in order to get into the shade, you need to take sunbeds early. But somehow we always got lucky, I guess. They came to the beach after breakfast and always managed to find a sunbed in the shade, the second one was placed in the sun). The beaches are pebbly. Feet sink into it. But it's even cool! There are many stones under water, but there is 1 beach where these stones start at a depth, so it is very good there with children. Most importantly - the sea is CLEAN!!!
4. We ate in the dining room-restaurant above the "Ai-Danil" restaurant. The dining room is small, for 100 people, with a gorgeous panoramic view - of the sea and of Ayu-Dag and Adalary. A large dining room is located on the first floor of the main building, so it's just huge! But cold. The food is good - plentiful and tasty. There are also dietary dishes for children (steam chicken soufflé is awesome! ) BUT!! ! Well, very similar food. A week later, he starts to feel nauseous from the same dishes. And it was also very annoying that they were very cooled by air conditioning. Well, just to disgrace! You go steamed, you go into the dining room - it's winter there... After several requests from all vacationers with children, they stopped cooling so much and turned off the air conditioners before breakfast, lunch, dinner. The waiters are wonderful.

5. The sanatorium has an excellent library. It is very pleasant in the evening, sitting on the balcony, to read an interesting kigu.
6. Excursions are well organized in Ai-Danil. We also express our gratitude to Anna from "Yurzuf-Tour".
8. Did not like the playground - too small for such a huge resort! Modern, yes. But here you need a platform at least 3-4 times more, in the evening the kids really want to climb and swing.
9. SPA-complex is just SUPER!! ! Everything is modern - swimming pool, saunas, wooden and plastic deck chairs, equipment. Prices please. I really hope they stay the same. Swimming pools (adult and children) with sea water! We swam there once because the sea was stormy and the outdoor pool was closed.
10. I agree with the previous ones, the store kills the whole impression! The lack of competition, of course, relaxes, but not to the same extent. Saleswomen are completely unaware of what politeness is and absolutely do not know how to count, of course, in their favor. They have such a feint - not to break through each product individually, but to calculate the entire amount with a large error in + on the calculator, and then break through. Pairs of hryvnias were always not counted. The assortment of the store is awesome. Of course, there has always been water. But there were no fruits or vegetables, and you can’t walk upstairs - it’s far and hot.
11. Killed by the lack of a pharmacy in such a huge complex! This is a serious omission. The nearest village (Gurzuf) is 4 kilometers away, transport does not go there from Ai-Danil, and going to Yalta is a serious waste of time, and it’s a pity to spend money.

12. Entertainment for adults: table and tennis, billiards, beach bar, sports equipment rental. And, perhaps, everything. Well, the excursions are different. The gym is very modern and air conditioned. But I didn't see people there. They show films not of the first freshness (although Avatar was once). But it is impossible to sit for 2-3 hours in a stuffy hall (well, there are no conders there)! There are absolutely no beach activities - neither for children, nor for adults - no catamarans, scooters, bananas, no trampolines - NOTHING! There is mini golf. But I've never seen anyone playing there, to be honest. It is strange that such a complex does not have its own pier. short boat trips to Gurzuf and back only 2 times a week. You can go from Yalta, of course. But what's the point of going there in the heat?? ? And this is very sad.
13. We practically didn’t use the treatment, we didn’t have time to make sanatorium cards, it was possible to issue them for 120 hryvnias (480 rubles) on the spot, but we were too lazy. By the way, it would be possible to sell vouchers without treatment - not everyone needs it. And the money has been paid. BUT! When a child fell ill, the doctor came immediately and observed all the time of the illness. Husband had an inflamed tooth treated for free.
Summary. I repeat, the overall impression of the rest is excellent, the staff (except for the store) is very welcoming and sensitive to the requests of vacationers. There are downsides. They are everywhere (except, probably, five-star hotels somewhere in Italy or in the south of France, but there, sorry, the prices are completely different! ). But they are not criminal at all. The most important thing is the cleanest sea, a wonderful pool, awesome territory, normal food - it's all there. In my opinion, "Ai-Danil" is one of the best places in Crimea for families with children (by the way, it has a lot of awards!!! ). The youth will be bored. I am more than sure that within a few years the leadership of "Ai-Danil" will correct all its omissions and disadvantages and turn into a chic place that simply will not be equal in the Crimea at all! Precisely because the leadership does not stop there, but strives in every possible way for development and improvement. Many thanks to them for a wonderful holiday. We really hope to return there again!
P. S. By the way, on one of the sites I read about eternally dissatisfied and snorting Muscovites. Rave. It was mostly Mariupol residents who snorted! Because of which?? ? And because, you see, they sent a grandmother and a girl to the table, because the waiter only ONCE mixed up the dishes, although he immediately corrected himself. And because of things like that.
