In preparation for the trip, I dug through the entire Internet in search of a place to stay. As a result, we chose the hotel "Over the Sea" in the village of Rybachye in the Bolshaya Alushta region. Reservations required two days' advance payment via Western Union. In general, this is a common practice in these places, so there is no need to be afraid of this.
We got to Simferopol by train. Right on the forecourt of this wonderful city there is a bus station from which you can get by bus to anywhere in the Crimea. And don't be alarmed if your train arrives quite late in the evening, the last bus departs, if I'm not mistaken, at about 9 pm, at ten o'clock, and at that time it is already quite dark in Crimea. For example, our train arrived in Simferopol at eight o'clock in the evening. On the way from the train to the bus station, numerous taxi drivers tried to convince us that it was already late and that we could not leave by bus, after which we safely passed them all and calmly bought ourselves tickets for the next bus to Rybachy. The ticket cost about 30 hryvnia per person, including luggage.
The first thing I liked right away was that although it was already quite late for these places, the hostess of the hotel, along with the maids, waited for us, met us, asked how we got there, escorted us to the room, explained everything. Since we were eager to look at the sea, the hostess explained how to get to it. A wonderful half-dog-half-wolf lives in the hotel, which is actually very kind and sweet. The most amazing thing is that as soon as we left our bags and headed to the exit of the hotel to go to the sea (and the hostess explained the way to us, but we still vaguely imagined how to go there), this dog ran in front of us and led us to the very shore, like showing the way. As if he understood everything.
The hotel was very comfortable and beautiful. I was pleased with the well-groomed beautiful territory, a decorative fountain, growing grapes, pomegranates, even persimmons, if I'm not confusing anything.
We were accommodated in a very nice room, very comfortable, with all amenities. I was pleased with the terrace in front of the room, on which there is a table, chairs and a dryer for towels, swimwear and in general any things. From this terrace you can see the whole beach, the whole village, as the hotel is located quite high and quite justifies its name in this regard. In general, the view from there is very beautiful both on the sea and on the village. Well, of course, it all depends on the room, ours was located on the top floor. The cheaper rooms (junior suites) do not have air conditioning and, for sure, do not offer such a gorgeous view from there. In general, the hotel consists of two buildings and an outbuilding, in which there is a dining room and some other utility rooms, for example, where you can iron your clothes.
It should be noted that we found only 2 minuses at the hotel, but they turned out to be very, very significant. Well, first of all, they don't clean the rooms. That's not all removed. In each room there is a leaflet - a memo with the rules of staying at the hotel, where, among other things, it is written in black and white: "cleaning in the rooms is carried out independently as needed. " Of course, this was very surprising, we did not expect this. The only thing they are willing to do is change bed linen and towels on the sixth day of your stay. Double suite cost $40 per night. In the middle of summer, for sure, the price is higher.
And the second significant minus: it is really very close to the sea, but it is close - along a long staircase 117 steps long (they counted). In general, climbing back is quite difficult. Until you get from the beach to the room, you can get tired.
The hotel is located very high above the sea, standing on the beach you can see it by looking up. There is another option to get to it - bypassing through the center of the village, but it will take a lot of time and you will still have to go uphill and for quite a long time, so it is also very tiring, although not by stairs.
Judging by my description, you can decide that the hotel is not located in the village itself. In fact, this is not so, it’s just that it is located at the very edge of Rybachy, and this has its advantages - it is quite quiet there at night and you can sleep peacefully. The village itself is very small, you can walk slowly from one end to the other in about 10 minutes.
What can you say about the village itself? As I said, the village is small. There is no space for pedestrians on the main street, people have to walk straight along the roadway, constantly pressing against the edge to let cars through. The village itself cannot be called very beautiful. There is a beach, a market, numerous cafes, pharmacies, exchange offices, hotels, in general, everything you need for life, but this is all limited. There are no parks, flowers on the streets and so on. All this is on the territory of two boarding houses Rybachy - Kulon and Icarus. By the way, Coulomb is located just next door to the Nad More Hotel, if you want to somehow brighten up your road to the sea, you can go through the territory of this boarding house, everything is pretty pretty there, flowers, gazebos, benches, trees, shade. But this is perhaps the only such beautiful place in the village.
A huge plus of the village is a huge beach, really very large, and this is not exaggerated. There are quite a lot of people there, but you can always find a place. You can even rent sun loungers with umbrellas that are already placed on the beach, you just need to come up, sit down, then the owner will come up to you, politely explain that the service is paid and it costs from 10 to 30 hryvnia for a sun lounger with an umbrella in different places on the beach.
The beach itself is sandy - pebbly, somehow in stripes. Pebbles are small, walking on it does not hurt, but very pleasant. Personally, we were not lucky, the sea was stormy almost all the time we rested. There were quite strong waves knocking down when you go into the sea. When the sea finally calmed down, numerous jellyfish and algae washed ashore (or they themselves sailed). During this period, swimming with jellyfish was not very pleasant, to be honest. After a couple of days, all this nastiness finally disappeared somewhere and the sea finally became clean and pleasant, the water became transparent, so that you could go almost up to your neck and still clearly see your legs. So, the sea there is very clean, if it doesn’t storm, and that’s how lucky.
The village is located on the coast very conveniently, you can easily get to Yalta and towards Sudak and the New World. Communication between all towns and cities is carried out through a network of bus stations, which eats in each settlement. Buses in any direction run several times a day, ticket prices are reasonable, so traveling around the Crimea is very convenient, unless of course you can easily endure long trips along mountain serpentine.
About food in the hotel must be said separately. The food is very tasty and very inexpensive, for which many thanks to the owners. We ate right at the hotel, everything suited us. Comprehensive meals cost 100 hryvnia per day per person, believe me, it's very cheap. Sometimes, we went to a cafe in the evenings, for example, I really liked the Grow Puzo cafe, it’s inexpensive, tasty and beautiful.
In general, the impressions of the rest are the most wonderful. I really liked the hotel, even despite the described disadvantages.
Crimea is very beautiful, there are many beautiful places that you must see, the most beautiful (and this word still does not express all admiration) nature. And the village of Rybachye is also a very good choice as a vacation spot. For example, in comparison with the New World, of course, it loses on the first impression, in the New World everything is somehow neater, cozier and more beautiful. However, everything is compensated by a huge clean beach, since in the New World there really is nowhere for a stone to fall, there is simply no place on the beach, the bay there is very beautiful, but small.
It is worth going there if you have chosen Crimea. We have not regretted our choice.

Rested with my husband in the mini-hotel "Over the Sea" in Rybachy in July 2008. In general, we liked it : ) The owner Olga is a serious and nice woman. A big plus - the food was well established, and tasty, and quite varied, and you don’t have to go anywhere far. … More ▾ Rested with my husband in the mini-hotel "Over the Sea" in Rybachy in July 2008. A big plus - the food was well established, and tasty, and quite varied, and you don’t have to go anywhere far. Of the small shortcomings, I can only note that the electric kettle and refrigerator were shared in the corridor for several rooms, but perhaps now this has changed. A bonus for animal lovers is a big good dog and a cat : ) You need to walk minutes to the sea, go down the stairs, it’s better to go back along the road through the village, along the way you can buy something or go to a cafe. In Rybachy there is a very large, good beach, the sea is clean, there is where to go for a walk along the coast, even to the neighboring village, as well as in the mountains.
