We managed to "thunder" in Espanyol in August 2009. Of course, if we bought a ticket not on the last day before departure, we would definitely look at the reviews on the Internet and go somewhere else, but alas.
The adventure began even before we arrived at the boarding house: we got lost. We had a printout from http://talassa. crimea. ua/espaniola.html, where the kind "authors" of the route did not bother to point out that we should also go towards Generalsky, and we searched for a long time under the scorching sun for the 18th house along Resort street. Neither the ticket nor the printout from the website contained the establishment's phone number, so Espanyol was not immediately found. What is typical: we talked with the owner of the site, and asked to write normally, so that it was clear where to go with a suitcase (and for someone else with children), but the request remained unheeded.
We noticed two major shortcomings and many smaller ones almost immediately: the lack of soundproofing between the rooms (not only conversations, mobile phones and noises from the administration of natural needs were heard, but even how small things were counted in the next room) and an open ditch picturesquely located next to the boarding house. sewer drain. We lived in the penultimate room on the second floor of the "new" building (this is the one in all the photographs), and the smell even reached us. Especially in the heat.

The staff of the boarding house "Espanyola" opened our eyes to such a thing as "housekeeping". Turns out it's trash and all. For 10 days, the floor, sink, shower cabin was never washed. Linen on the bed, of course, is not filled. “Cleaning” is not carried out every day, but when vacationers hang a special cardboard on the door handle. However, once the cardboard did not help: the garbage was never thrown away. We were also genuinely surprised when, during the “cleaning” of the room, the aunt did not notice the lack of toilet paper in our room. I had to look for an administrator and ask.
By the way, the administrator is a separate character. Moreover, by the end of the holiday, we still learned how to look for it on the territory! There is never an administrator in place, look in the kitchen area! Administrators are like soldiers!
This sweet lady found us at the beginning of our trip to Solnechnogorsk, when we were wandering through the steep streets with a heavy suitcase, she also gave us an advertisement for a boarding house (and we gave her one hryvnia in return) with the marvelous slogan “Summer in Crimea once and spend it need in Solnechnogorsk! ” Isn't this a hint that the rest in Solnechnogorsk may be the last? The next time we found her, when we remembered that we need to change bed linen sometimes! I had to come up only three times (and leave a note once). And once during the holiday it got cold, and we had to go for a second blanket (on arrival in a double room, there was one blanket, one spare pillow and one towel). We were sadly told that there were no blankets, but when we saw that we were not going to leave without a blanket, the administrator ran away and got a blanket! Old, with a burnt diamond from the duvet cover, and even with the duvet cover itself! And the duvet cover is not simple, but with real holes and the Z-D FIOLENT print! Well, where else can you sleep under this!
Separate remarks deserve convenience, more precisely, water. There is no water at night, so you can only go to the toilet once at night. During the day there is water, there is a lot of water, but its pressure is clearly not enough for all two floors. It often happens that in the process of washing, when you are already lathered, hot water suddenly suddenly disappears. After a couple of minutes, it appears, but the cold one disappears. After a few more minutes, you can wash further. It is especially great if you need to take a shower in the morning before an excursion or before a train. On the day of departure, all the water disappeared at 7 in the morning and appeared at half past seven.

Checkout time is 8 am - that's cool! I can imagine people who need to leave the room at 8 am, but it’s hard for me to imagine those who check in at 8 am. Therefore, in all the time we never saw anyone check in so early, but every day suitcases were heaped in the hall under the gloomy gaze of that "rested" who was left to look after them (apparently, to allocate a separate room for such cases, locked on key, an unheard of luxury for the owners of a boarding house).
Can't comment on the food, we ate elsewhere. (And, to be honest, in another boarding house. ) They promised home cooking, but on the very first day we saw sausages in dinner plates and decided that such “home” cuisine did not appeal to us.
And a few words about Solnechnogorsk itself. Quite a typical Crimean village. The beach is not bad, long and wide, but, like all typical Crimean ones, it is dirty. Eating in cafes on the beach is dangerous (poisoned immediately). But you can buy fruits and vegetables grown in the gardens of local residents. There is one small, but very material minus from choosing a small village: it is sometimes difficult and expensive to get to Alushta, excursions from Solnechnogorsk are 15-25 UAH more expensive than from the same Alushta, the exchange rate is much worse, the pharmacy is exactly twice as expensive. For the whole vacation noticeably "runs".
General impression: both the village and the Espanyola boarding house need to “grow up” for a good review. We have specially spent a lot of time compiling this text in order to explain to everyone that IT IS NOT NEEDED TO REST HERE! There are also decent boarding houses in Solnechnogorsk (we know for sure one), where they are ready to offer really worthy service. It seemed to us that the Espanyola administration simply did not know what a service is and what it is for: that water is needed not “in principle”, but to wash; that room cleaning should be done for the sake of cleanliness; that administrators should not dream of a cloak of invisibility, but deal with the prevention of emerging problems, especially since they are all the same for everyone.
