Explanation.
Let's start with the fact that I like Crimea. And I also like to travel, I like mountains, Crimean wine and I don’t like just lying on the beach. This remark serves solely for the correct understanding of the text below, so that each person can correctly evaluate the text below, try it on for themselves and decide where to spend their time competently.
In Horizon (Sudak) I rested with my wife, and our son is five and a half years old.
First, about the boarding house itself (TOK Horizon) - the impression is very good, the room is clean, the furniture is new, the refrigerator, the TV, as promised, plus the air conditioner "in the load. " However, not all rooms have air conditioning, we just got a little lucky. But the weather was not hot and it was turned on once - on the day of arrival.

The food in the boarding house is a buffet breakfast + dinner, very decent. Maybe a little monotonous (although the menu changed and was not the same every day), but you can combine. Many of them filled with an impressive slide - I believe that they did without lunch. They fed everyone in one shift, and when there were a lot of people in the boarding house, it was possible to run into a queue - in this case it was better to go in from the other side, as a rule there was no queue. And they didn’t always have time to bring the entire assortment, and not even because the waiters were leisurely running around, but because someone eats a lot; . If you really wanted to skip the line, and the entire assortment, then you could come 10 minutes before the official meal - the dining room was already open, or vice versa a little later when the main stream was already subsiding. However, on vacation, I didn’t really want to bother with the exact time and we went as it would.
The territory is quite well-groomed, although not very large, a children's room is available and free of charge, the pool is open for a fee (20 gr for adults, 15 for children - for half a day), luggage storage, taxi call, buffet in the building and in the evening on the street, ice cream on reception (all this is very inexpensive), the sale of local cosmetics (oils and something else) in the lobby, discos with all sorts of competitions - this is what we took advantage of. Movies every evening (seemingly), travel sales (not a lively girl at all), currency exchange (the exchange rate is worse than in the city), billiards, rental of all sorts of things, a tennis court (we didn’t reach our hands) - we did not use these services. Cleaned every day and never in our presence in the room, once changed the linen - as promised.
The room was on the third floor, the view of the fortress and the sea is very beautiful, in the morning, as a rule, I smoked on the balcony and could not deny myself the pleasure of taking a photo  .
Now about the sea. You really need to walk a little to get there, how many 500 or 800 meters there really were, but for us this was not a problem, we didn’t sit on the beach for a long time and didn’t go upstairs exhausted by the heat - sometimes we immediately went for a walk in the city, yes and when returning to the hotel is not so difficult as it could be read in the reviews IMHO. The path to the beach is picturesque. The beach itself is small, with awnings, so the beach umbrella that we captured from central Russia was not useful. Entry into the sea is pebbles, sand starts from about two meters deep. Water is lucky - sometimes clean, sometimes not so much. I liked the neighboring beach more (right behind the pier from TOK Sudak), I got there in the evening when our beach was closed (opening hours until 19-00), there is more sand and a better sunset. On our beach near the pier, a piece of iron sticks out in the sea so as not to run into it, an empty five-liter bottle is tied to it on a string.

It’s also not close to the city, because you have to go around the TOK Sudak, which is along the road (preferably through Morskaya St. ), which is about the same distance along the embankment, but not close. Especially when on the first day we got lost in the dark and from the street. Kurortnaya instead of Tourist highway, turned to Lenin. However, I bought tickets with the expectation that the boarding house was a little away from the city. In general, the choice was between Zvezdny and Horizon, the choice in favor of Horizon was made due to some distance from the city, the presence of a pool (after all, the sea is still cool in June) and it was more convenient to take a ticket from June 13 for work. (In order not to be accused of bias, I must say that the person we met on the tour spoke very positively about Zvezdny). During the day, it is better to get to the city and from the city by minibus - they go quite often. At night - on the first day, as I said, we walked with a child sleeping on our shoulders, we were not yet very oriented and stomped right along the road, the path nearby in the dark was simply not visible, one more time when we returned at night with a child who fell asleep in a cafe, we took a taxi - 20 gr . In general, the main incentive to go to the city was the desire to eat shish kebab in the evening, but as it turned out (what a coincidence), shish kebabs were made right next to the boarding house from about 8 pm. Sasha made them (who worked in the kitchen during the day) - and made them wonderful, soaking the kebab in lemons. (Although we prefer apple or wine vinegar - but this is unprofessional). We always had a supply of wine, and in order not to go up to the room once again, you could buy an additive in the buffet - they sold it for bottling. By the way, it is also convenient that there is a toilet in the hall on the first floor - it was not necessary to go up to the room with the child.
Briefly about the pool. It is paid, a towel is included in the price. The pool is divided into an adult and a paddling pool, fresh water, a bar, a shower, a toilet. However, we did not use the bar, I can’t tell you the price level, somehow they brought everything with them. On the last day, we nevertheless read the rules for using the pool, it turned out that it was forbidden to bring drinks in glass, but no one paid attention to this. Due to the fact that the sea was coldish, and sometimes because there was no time and desire to go somewhere, we visited the pool three times. The thing is comfortable.
The biggest drawback found in the Horizon, in my opinion, is that in order to get a dry ration instead of breakfast or dinner, you need to write an application at least 24 hours in advance. Since most of the excursions were bought "for tomorrow", we missed two breakfasts and two dinners. And the only time when we did take dry rations instead of dinner - that very time the tour was canceled  . When asked if it was possible to come to dinner anyway, they said - return the ration in integrity. However, integrity was no longer there. The ration set included a bottle of mineral water, a bottle of juice, tomatoes, cucumbers, sandwiches with cheese and sausage.
About the boarding house, perhaps everything. Now, briefly, where they were, what they saw, ate and drank, since the impression of the place of rest depends to a large extent on this.

Tours.
- Golitsin trail in the New World (on your own) - very beautiful. Cape Kapchik and Through Grotto are officially closed - we did not know this and examined them too.

- Excursion to the Novosvetsky champagne factory view - good and interesting. Tasting of 6 types of champagne, then you can buy in the store at the factory, a discount of about 10% from the company factory on the Novyi Svet Embankment.
- On the ship "Margate" to Koktebel - I liked it. Beautiful views, tirelessly, the ship was barely a third full.
- Biostation - walking tour of the Karadag reserve. We went with Soldaya tour. In total, there were 7 people, but the tour still took place. The duration of the walking part of the tour is approximately 4. It is quite difficult to climb the mountains, but very beautiful. It is a pity that there was no time left to visit the local aquarium.
- Sudak Fortress - without a guide. Interesting and beautiful views.
- Kerch (Pantikapeya, Royal Mound, Adzhimushkay, Invisible Fortress) - (Crimea tour) satisfied curiosity about Kerch.
- They wanted to take the child to the Yalta Zoo, the Glade of Fairy Tales and the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. We bought an excursion in Meridian, but the trip was canceled - there is no quorum. As compensation, they gave a guide to the Crimea and offered a choice of free trips to the dolphinarium at the Biostation or to the Dzhur-Dzhur waterfalls. On the same day, the same excursion from Soldaya-tour was canceled, the next day from Crimea-tour. Moreover, if everyone united their clients, then it would be quite possible to organize a full-fledged excursion. As a result, near Horizon agreed with the machine. The driver not only drove, but also worked as a sightseer. It turned out not cheap (800 gr), but with comfort. All liked it.
About Sudak. I liked that the city is small, unpompous, there are few cars, but this is a resort - where there are places to relax. I didn’t like the dilapidated buildings of the Air Force boarding house - it’s almost full of the Sudak embankment.
Cafe. Argo 2 times. Fine. We went there to feed the child a complex lunch. The price level is normal, the quality is normal. I liked the royal dumplings.
Shinok. Badly. They left the most money. Barbecue with streaks - it was worse nowhere.
Shantan U Naum 2 times. The choice of food is weak - it costs like in restaurants. Did not like.

Fisherman's hut. 4 times. A little pricey, but tasty and very nice. Loved the French seafood soup.
Southerner. On the embankment near the TOK Sudak. Tasty and good.
Self-service dining room in the New World. So-so, although inexpensive.
Total for Horizon and Sudak - I liked it very much, I would not mind coming back and repeating.
