Starting from my student years, I always try to get somewhere in May. First, there are many days off. Second, the weather is good. It did not always work out, but there were a couple of bright trips, both abroad and in my native country. Last year I didn’t manage to go, so this year I decided to recoup. Imbued with patriotism, I decided to go on a tour of Transcarpathia. And did not regret it! Somehow everything this year was special. Or so I perceived it.

I went with a guy in a car. The road is normal. We got to Lvov quickly and comfortably. Further, of course, there were bad roads and passes, but everything is not as critical as in winter. What amazes in Transcarpathia is the ancient castles and fortresses. It seems that you are immersed in the Middle Ages. Each architectural heritage has its own history and interesting legend that attracts tourists. The people who work there sincerely love their brainchild and delightfully tell the story of this place. Uzhgorod and Mukachevo are cities with old houses and streets lined with paving stones. Getting into them, you immediately feel the spirit of old Europe. What pleasantly surprised me was the pricing policy. There are many affordable and very conceptual establishments. I think if we describe all the castles, cathedrals, churches and other ancient architectural buildings that we passed through, there will simply not be enough time. This is all Transcarpathia. There is something to see at every step.

And nature… We stopped all the way to just lie down and have a snack on the grass. You look into the distance and see how snow still lies on the tops of the mountains. Indescribable beauty. I was struck by a large number of mineral and healing springs. Local residents assured that each source has its own miraculous power. We were told a story about a village where a huge number of twins and twins have been born for about a hundred years. It turns out that the case is in a unique source from which residents drink water all the time. The village is called Velyki Kopany. Many couples specially come to collect miracle water. Entire queues line up near the source.

Swimming in the sources of Beregovo, of course, I liked it. But it is very sad that the service is of such a low level. Then there was a wine tasting at the winery. Wine is nothing. But this is only my opinion, many were delighted.

In a word, Transcarpathia cannot be described in its entirety. Whichever route you choose, there are plenty of sights and interesting stories along the way. The locals are friendly and very sociable. We had to deviate from the chosen route only because, on the advice of the people we met, we visited more and more interesting places that are not included in the route of the classic guide. Feel free to go and listen to advice. You will discover another Transcarpathia.
